Chapter 28 - Chapter 30 – The Tower Must Fall

The Director's cold voice still echoed across the underground garage.

"Then the experiment is over."

The large screens flickered violently as her face appeared everywhere.

Ryan's heart sank.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Then the building's alarm system suddenly began screaming.

WARNING: INCOMING STRIKE DETECTED

The mechanical voice repeated the message again and again.

Meherin's eyes widened.

"…incoming strike?"

Daniel rushed toward one of the security monitors near the parking gate.

His face turned pale instantly.

"Oh no."

Ryan stepped beside him.

"What is it?"

Daniel swallowed hard.

"Missiles."

Victor muttered softly,

"Now that's dramatic."

Ryan looked up toward the ceiling.

"The Director is destroying the entire tower."

A Deadly Decision

Meherin felt a chill run through her entire body.

"Khan Tower is full of people."

Ryan's jaw tightened.

"She doesn't care."

Victor crossed his arms calmly.

"She never did."

On the screen, the Director spoke again.

"You have five minutes."

Her voice was completely emotionless.

"Consider it mercy."

Ryan glared at the screen.

"You're killing thousands."

The Director replied coldly,

"I'm eliminating loose ends."

Then the screens went dark.

The Race Against Time

The entire garage exploded into chaos.

Founder soldiers.

Resistance fighters.

Everyone suddenly realized what was coming.

Daniel shouted,

"We need to evacuate the building!"

Ryan grabbed Meherin's hand.

"Come on."

But Adrian stepped in front of them.

"Wait."

Ryan looked at him sharply.

"We don't have time."

Adrian's voice became serious.

"If we leave now, the Director wins."

Victor nodded slowly.

"For once, the boy is right."

Ryan frowned.

"What are you talking about?"

Adrian pointed toward the control center door at the end of the garage.

"There's a missile defense system in the tower."

Daniel's eyes widened.

"You mean the emergency interceptors?"

Adrian nodded.

"If we activate them… the missiles can be stopped."

Meherin whispered,

"So we save the tower."

Ryan made his decision instantly.

"Then we go."

Through the Warzone

The group ran through the underground corridors toward the tower's control center.

Gunfire echoed everywhere.

Founder agents tried to block their path.

But the resistance fighters kept them busy.

Victor fought beside Ryan again.

Their movements were deadly and precise.

Years of experience turning every strike into something lethal.

Adrian moved like a shadow.

Cold.

Efficient.

The man the Founders had trained.

And the man now fighting against them.

Meherin stayed close to Ryan.

Her heart racing.

Not just from fear.

But from the realization that everything was about to change.

The Control Center

They finally reached the security control room.

The large doors slammed shut behind them.

Daniel rushed toward the main computer systems.

"Give me access!"

The screen flashed rapidly as he tried to override the tower's defenses.

Ryan turned to Adrian.

"You knew this system existed."

Adrian nodded.

"The Founders helped design the tower's security."

Victor smirked.

"So you're stealing their own weapons."

Adrian replied calmly,

"Exactly."

Suddenly Daniel shouted,

"I'm in!"

Meherin stepped closer.

"How long?"

Daniel's voice became tense.

"Three minutes before impact."

Ryan whispered,

"That's not much time."

The Emotional Moment

For a brief moment, everything became quiet again.

Ryan turned toward Meherin.

"You should go."

She shook her head immediately.

"No."

Ryan's voice softened.

"If something goes wrong…"

Meherin stepped closer to him.

"I'm not leaving you."

Ryan looked into her eyes.

The fear.

The determination.

The trust.

And something else.

Something deeper.

He pulled her into his arms suddenly.

A fierce, desperate hug.

"I should never have dragged you into this world."

Meherin whispered softly,

"You didn't."

"I chose it."

Ryan closed his eyes for a second.

"You're the bravest person I know."

Brothers United

Behind them, Adrian watched the moment quietly.

Victor leaned beside him.

"You could still leave."

Adrian shook his head.

"No."

Victor raised an eyebrow.

"Sentimental?"

Adrian looked toward Ryan.

"He's still my brother."

Victor smiled slightly.

"Well… this story just got more interesting."

The Final Countdown

Daniel's voice broke the silence.

"Two minutes!"

The missile trajectory appeared on the screen.

Three missiles.

Heading straight for the tower.

Ryan stepped beside Daniel.

"What do you need?"

Daniel pointed at the console.

"Authorization codes."

Adrian walked forward.

"I have them."

Ryan stared at him.

"You do?"

Adrian entered the codes rapidly.

The system beeped loudly.

MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM ACTIVATED

Meherin held her breath.

Impact Incoming

The radar screen flashed red.

The missiles were approaching fast.

Daniel shouted,

"Interceptors launching!"

Outside the tower, defense missiles shot into the night sky.

Ryan watched the screen intensely.

One interceptor hit the first missile.

BOOM

The second missile exploded seconds later.

But the third one kept moving.

Daniel's face went pale.

"It's still coming!"

Ryan whispered,

"Damn it."

Adrian quickly reprogrammed the launcher.

"One more shot."

The final interceptor launched.

The screen flashed.

For a second—

Nothing happened.

Then—

BOOM

The last missile exploded high above the city.

The entire room fell silent.

A Small Victory

Daniel exhaled heavily.

"We did it."

Meherin closed her eyes in relief.

Ryan looked at Adrian.

"Thank you."

Adrian shrugged slightly.

"Don't get used to it."

Victor chuckled.

"Brothers reconciling during a missile strike. How poetic."

But suddenly—

The control room screens flickered again.

The Director's face appeared once more.

Her expression was colder than ever.

🔥 Final Cliffhanger

"You stopped the missiles."

Her voice was calm again.

Ryan answered coldly,

"You're out of moves."

The Director smiled faintly.

"No."

She pressed something off-screen.

Suddenly every monitor in the room displayed a new image.

A massive underground facility.

Meherin's heart stopped.

She recognized it instantly.

The place from her childhood memories.

The laboratory where she had been held.

The Director spoke slowly—

"Welcome to Phase Two."

Ryan frowned.

"What is that?"

The Director's eyes locked onto Meherin.

"The place where we finish what we started with her."
