Chapter 4 - The Age That Was Changed

After spending a part of his childhood in India, the boy eventually returned to Nepal.

At that time, he was around eleven years old.

The place that was supposed to feel like home… felt unfamiliar to him. The mountains, the village, the people—everything seemed distant, as if he was seeing it all for the first time.

Soon after his return, his family began preparing his official documents.

The kind of documents that define a person's identity. The kind that stay with you for the rest of your life.

The boy sat quietly while the elders discussed his future.

One of them looked at him and said,

"His age is already too high."

Another voice followed,

"If we keep it like this, he will face problems when he reaches Class 10."

There was a pause.

Then, without much hesitation, a decision was made.

"Reduce it by two years."

Just like that, the boy's age was changed.

From 2065… to 2067.

No one asked him.

No one explained anything.

And the boy… said nothing.

Because at that age, he had already learned something important—

Some decisions in life are made without your permission.

---

After that, he was admitted to a boarding school.

His two brothers were already studying there—Abhi and Nagesh.

There was also another boy from the same village, Vijay, his cousin.

On the surface, it seemed like he wouldn't be alone.

But reality was different.

---

Inside the school, the boy lived a quiet life.

He followed every rule.

He stayed disciplined.

He didn't speak unless necessary.

Teachers saw him as an "ideal student."

"Very good boy," they would say.

But they misunderstood him.

It wasn't discipline.

It was silence.

---

While other children laughed, fought, and played freely,

he remained in the background.

Watching.

Listening.

Thinking.

Or sometimes… just existing.

---

During breaks, when the playground was filled with noise,

he often stayed behind.

Not because he had something important to do.

But because he didn't feel like he belonged there.

---

That was the phase where something inside him slowly started to change.

A kind of distance began to grow—

Not just from others…

but from the world itself.

---

And without anyone noticing…

that quiet, silent boy

was slowly becoming someone

who would one day choose to speak

only through his words.
