"Are you sure it was a good idea to invite this guy into our home?" Nathan asked Griffin through the bond. He refused to shift back until he was sure Felix wasn't going to hurt them.
Griffin sighed, placing his hand on his mate's furry head. "Not entirely. But Dray seems to know him and doesn't seem overly concerned about his appearance."
Nathan growled softly.
[I have to agree with Nathan on this,] Kael said hesitantly. [Inviting someone potentially dangerous into our home? Not a great idea.]
[Hey, if he turns out to be an enemy, we can just kill him,] Axel chimed in enthusiastically.
Griffin and Nathan both mentally shook their heads. "I don't like the idea of killing him, but I also don't want to lose my home again."
Griffin petted Nathan's head gently. "And you won't. I promise."
As the group of four arrived back at the house, Griffin took the lead, showing everyone in. "Anyone want tea?" He asked.
"Yes, please," Dray said.
"Felix?"
"Uh… sure. Thanks," Felix replied, stunned.
As Griffin wandered away, Dray directed Felix into the living room, putting him in a seat across from where they'd been sitting earlier. Nathan curled up on the rug in front of the fireplace, keeping his eyes fixed on the newcomer.
The silence seemed to stretch as they sat there, waiting for Griffin to come back. When he returned several minutes later with a tray, he offered it to Felix first, letting him pick a mug.
"Why are you offering it to him first?" Nathan asked curiously.
Griffin quickly glanced at the wolf. "It shows that we're not trying to poison him by letting him pick which cup to drink out of."
"Ah. Makes sense."
Once the drinks were distributed and Griffin had settled into his seat, Dray took over questioning Felix's presence.
"Felix, why are you really here?" Dray asked gently.
Felix set his mug on the side table next to him. "Your father asked me to come find you. He seemed worried that he hadn't heard from you in a while."
Felix startled when Nathan started growling low in his throat at the explanation.
"Nate," Dray chided lightly. Turning his attention back to his friend, Dray cleared his throat. "Do you know why I was away from home?"
Felix looked confused. "No. Your father just said you had gone to Red Peak Mountain and when he hadn't heard from you he got worried."
"If you knew he had gone to Red Peak Mountain, then why are you on Dark Moon Mountain?" Griffin interrupted.
"I had to go this way to get there. There were no good water sources for me on the shorter route to Red Peak," Felix said simply. "When Draken looked at the route, he asked me to check out here too. Wasn't really sure why." He turned to look at Dray. "Why are you here?"
"We'll get there. How much do you know about what happened here?" Dray asked.
"Only that it was the sight of the last 'purge'," Felix said, making air quotes.
Dray leaned back in his seat, taking a deep breath. "So, you didn't know that my father was convinced that one got away?"
The revelation shocked Felix. "No! I had no idea!" His shock shifted into excitement. "Are you saying there's one more werewolf?! I'd love to meet them!"
