Chapter 14 – Foolish Visitors? Let's Give Them a Lesson
In Mondstadt City, right in front of the Godefroy Hotel.
Captain Jean furrowed her brows as she spoke with a woman wearing a mask and exotic clothing, someone whose origin was impossible to place at first glance.
Jean's tone was sharp: "Anastasia, is this how your Fatui handle matters?"
Anastasia's voice dripped with arrogance: "Exactly. This is our attitude."
"If you can't deal with the Windblume Dragon causing chaos, perhaps Mondstadt's defenses should be handed over to the Fatui."
"The dragon crisis in Mondstadt can be handled—if you let us deal with that beast…"
Jean cut her off coldly: "Beast?"
Anastasia's expression didn't falter, just a slight nod: "Hmm? What exactly does the Acting Grand Master mean by that?"
Jean's gaze grew even colder, her anger barely restrained: "I expect your diplomat to maintain a professional attitude."
"You want to handle one of Mondstadt's Four Winds? I won't allow anyone to speak such nonsense in front of the Knights of Favonius!"
Anastasia covered her mouth and laughed lightly: "Heh… heh heh… It's not quite as insane as you think, is it?"
Seeing the ice-cold resolve in Jean's eyes, Anastasia finally realized the situation was slipping out of her control. Her expression hardened.
"Very well. Today's negotiations are over. The takeaway: both sides have candidly exchanged constructive opinions, correct?"
"Hmph… I… will… record it accurately…"
——
Paimon, hiding to the side, fumed: "Wow… this woman is so arrogant. I really want to smack her."
Lumine nodded vigorously in agreement.
[Option 1: Lumine, I just realized Captain Jean's butt is perkier than yours. Hehehe 🤤🤤🤤, Captain Jean 🤤🤤, my Captain Jean… Reward: Pain reduced by 50% when beaten by Lumine.**]
[Option 2: Give this arrogant Fatui diplomat (Anastasia) a taste of her own medicine.]
[Reward: A-grade quality mask (black silk), effect: conceals the wearer's identity completely. No one can see through the disguise, and it cannot be removed without the wearer's permission.]
[Option 3: Ignore it, and head with Lumine and Paimon to the Knights of Favonius headquarters to wait for Captain Jean. Reward: 50,000 Mora.]
Su Han didn't hesitate. "Alright. Let's give her a lesson."
Lumine: "?"
Paimon panicked: "Hey, wait! I was just joking…"
But it was too late. In a blink, Su Han was already standing in front of Anastasia, blocking her path. Behind him, Paimon looked flustered and Lumine utterly bewildered.
"Who are you?" Anastasia asked, frowning.
"Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is—when did Mondstadt's Captain Jean allow you to issue instructions?" Su Han said slowly.
"Oh… I see. So you're just a few little bugs trying to play heroes. And what do you plan to do with me?" Anastasia sneered.
"Su Han, Lumine, don't act rashly. She's a Fatui diplomat from Snezhnaya," Jean warned, worried that Su Han might provoke the Fatui and bring unnecessary trouble to Mondstadt—trouble that could very well have started because of her.
Lumine parted her lips, her delicate face marked by utter confusion.
I don't want to act rashly… but Su Han just charged in for no reason. And now he's dragging Paimon and me along?
Since the Fatui had already assumed we were his allies, we might as well stand firmly with him. That's reasonable, right? Absolutely.
Lumine braced herself, ready to help Su Han teach this Fatui diplomat a lesson. Otherwise, taking the blame for nothing would be unfair. This was a situation where the arrow was already on the string—it had to be fired.
Su Han stood with his hands behind his back, releasing a faint spiritual pressure as he fixed Anastasia with a proud gaze: "What do I plan to do with you?"
"To me, a so-called Fatui diplomat is nothing but an insignificant insect. Today, it seems I'll have to teach you a lesson."
Hearing this, Anastasia's guard immediately went up.
If he knows I'm a Fatui diplomat and dares to act like this, he must have some backing—and it surely isn't Mondstadt or Captain Jean.
Captain Jean treats her with proper courtesy, not like this.
Looking at Su Han in front of her: dressed in pristine white robes with a jade-black sash, handsome features, brows like drawn swords, an imposing aura, and a black jade claw with gold inlay at his waist—something she had never seen before.
This attire, this presence… it reminded her of those people she had glimpsed long ago in Liyue. The feeling was the same.
Anastasia swallowed, her steps faltering as she slowly retreated, voice trembling: "What… what are you trying to do?"
"I… I warn you, this is Mondstadt, not your Liyue."
"Stop right there! Attacking a diplomat without permission—are you trying to start a diplomatic incident?"
"You're inside, lady, you…"
As she pressed on, preparing to scream for the Fatui envoy, Su Han pointed at the grass beside him, face solemn.
"Look. That's green."
"The tile is blue, the flowers in the bed are yellow, Lumine's hair is gold, and Captain Jean's breeches are white. Got it?"
Lumine: "?"
Jean: "?"
Anastasia: "???"
"You! Even if you are from Liyue…"
Anastasia's cheeks flamed, teeth gritted: "Fine! Fine! No one has ever dared mock a Fatui diplomat like this…"
"I will file a formal protest with the Seven Stars of Liyue as the Snezhnayan envoy! Just you wait!"
With that, she fled in a panic into the Godefroy Hotel.
[Congratulations! Obtained A-grade quality mask: Black Silk.]
A long black silk stocking appeared in the system space.
"Pff…" Paimon could no longer keep her expression straight and burst out laughing.
Lumine almost laughed too. "I drew my sword for this… really, Su Han, you're something else."
Even Jean couldn't help but smile. "Though Su Han's method is unorthodox, it was quite satisfying. But… you've officially made an enemy of the Fatui now."
Su Han waved calmly. "Few can match my speed when it comes to running away."
Jean: "As long as you're back safely, that's what matters. Thank you for your help. The elemental cycle around the city has finally stabilized."
"The aftereffects of the Windblume Dragon's last attack have… finally subsided, at least temporarily."
"However, the pressure from the envoy has become hard to ignore…"
"That was the Fatui envoy just now?" Lumine asked.
"Exactly…"
"Fatui? Paimon's heard of them too. But… they have a terrible reputation, don't they?"
"I don't think directly killing the Windblume Dragon is the right approach. And the Fatui, led by the Cryo Archon, are coveting the Wind God's followers' power…"
"This matter… is already highly suspicious," Jean said.
"Speaking of power…" Lumine hesitated.
"What is it?" Jean asked.
"I have something important I want the Knights to see…"
"In that case, let's head back to the Knights of Favonius headquarters. Be careful—'walls have ears,'" Su Han suggested.
"Exactly what I was thinking," Jean said, her beautiful eyes giving him a faint smile. If Lisa hadn't revealed Su Han's true identity, she might have assumed he was from Liyue.
But perhaps it was better this way—let that Fatui diplomat misjudge him for a while.
