"I got it."
The second Gustav heard those words, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. He snapped his head toward Lucian, shock clearly etched across his face.
"Master…"
Lucian sat behind the wheel, one black-gloved hand tapping against the steering wheel. When he lowered his other hand from his ear, he glanced over his shoulder and began reversing the car toward the direction they had come from.
"Master, I'll just call someone and have them intercept wherever the Di Carpios are headed." Gustav tried to talk him out of it, but at the same time, he was already reaching for his seatbelt.
"Buckle up, Gustav," Lucian muttered, still looking behind him as he drove in reverse. "We need to get Marshal first before she does."
Deep lines formed across Gustav's forehead.
The vehicle suddenly spun around, and Lucian finally met his eyes.
"Otherwise, he'll be dead before we can make a deal with him."
With that, the screech of tires pierced the air.
