Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 — The One Who Must Decide

The room holds its breath.

Aria looks at Seraphine.

"…stop it?"

Seraphine nods.

"Yes."

Jonas sighs.

"Great."

"Another responsibility for the girl."

Kael steps closer to Aria.

"What exactly do you mean?"

Seraphine folds her arms.

"The convergence."

She gestures toward the widening fractures.

"Every timeline collapsing into one."

Elias whispers.

"That would destroy reality."

Seraphine corrects him.

"No."

"It would rebuild it."

Future Kael stares at her.

"You're planning a reset."

Seraphine smiles faintly.

"Someone has to."

The Observer's eye shifts slowly.

Watching the conversation.

Listening.

Aria whispers.

"…what happens to us?"

Seraphine answers without hesitation.

"You disappear."

Silence drops like stone.

Jonas mutters.

"Well that's rude."

Kael's voice turns cold.

"Not happening."

Seraphine tilts her head.

"You don't understand."

Future Kael steps forward.

"I do."

Seraphine's gaze sharpens.

"You've seen it."

Future Kael nods.

"The burning city."

Aria turns to him.

"…that was real?"

"Yes."

Seraphine speaks again.

"That future happens if the fracture survives."

The cracks tremble again.

More shadows press against the edges.

The Observer speaks quietly.

"Temporal instability increasing."

Aria whispers.

"…so either I die…"

Seraphine finishes.

"…or everything dies."

The tension thickens.

Because suddenly—

The story isn't about survival anymore.

It's about sacrifice.

And no one in the room is ready for that answer.
