Aria stared at Kael.
"You're the anomaly?"
Kael looked away.
Orion nodded calmly.
"Yes."
Aria frowned.
"That doesn't make sense."
Orion folded his arms.
"Kael was never supposed to exist."
The words echoed in the tunnel.
Mira whispered,
"…what?"
Jonas laughed nervously.
"Okay that's new."
Aria stepped closer to Kael.
"What does he mean?"
Kael didn't answer.
Orion continued.
"Three hundred years ago…"
"You died."
Aria felt a chill.
"But something brought you back."
Kael whispered,
"…stop."
Orion ignored him.
"You have been breaking time ever since."
Aria looked at Kael.
"Is that true?"
Silence.
Then Kael spoke quietly.
"Yes."
Aria stepped back slightly.
"You're… dead?"
"Was."
"And you've been alive for centuries?"
"Yes."
"Because time won't accept you."
Kael nodded.
"That's why the loops happen."
Aria whispered,
"…because of you?"
"Yes."
The tunnel felt colder.
Aria took a slow breath.
"So I'm not the problem."
Orion answered,
"You are the solution."
Aria frowned.
"Solution to what?"
Orion's eyes darkened.
"To him."
