Chapter 19: Teaching You a Specially Powerful Signature Earth Release Ninjutsu
"You'll transform into Gato and take control of his shipping company. Then, use some of the money to help the people he oppressed and shut down all illegal projects. Finally, invest the remaining funds into technology development."
"Heh, I didn't expect a powerhouse like you to care about commoners."
Zabuza couldn't help but sneer at Kakashi's words. To a Ninja, they were tools for killing; they certainly weren't 'good people.'
"Well, my three cute students are right here, so naturally, I have to set a good example."
Kakashi ruffled Sakura's and Naruto's hair with his left and right hands respectively.
Zabuza scoffed, finding Kakashi's 'model teacher' act irritating, but he didn't argue. He simply asked, "What do you mean by 'technology development'?"
"Televisions, computers—you've seen them, right? For example, making TV screens thinner and larger, or making computers so small they're like thin square blocks."
Kakashi gestured with his hands as he spoke.
"Those boring things?" Zabuza immediately lost interest. What was so great about TV? He hadn't used computers much, but his impression was that they were equally dull.
"Once there's extra money, we can enter the entertainment industry. For instance, picking some good novels or manga to adapt into TV shows or movies. We could film a show called 'Naruto' with a Hokage theme, and this hot-blooded kid could play the lead."
Kakashi pulled Naruto over and introduced him to Zabuza.
"Eh? The lead? Me?" Uzumaki Naruto pointed at himself, looking dazed.
"Hmph, boring." Uchiha Sasuke felt left out of everything today. Naruto was always the one getting attention, which made him feel inexplicably annoyed.
"Um, I... never mind." Sakura was initially excited about the idea of being on TV, but hearing Sasuke call it boring made her instantly compose herself. She couldn't do anything Sasuke disliked.
Zabuza was even more disdainful. Filming a show to glorify the Hokage's achievements? How tedious. It would never be popular; probably only people in Konoha would watch it.
However, since he was at their mercy, he had to agree with whatever Kakashi said.
"Take Gato with you. You'll need to ask him for information regarding his company."
Finally, Kakashi had Zabuza and the others take Gato and leave.
"Kakashi-sensei, without a hostage, will Zabuza really do as you say? Won't they just run away?"
Seeing Haku leave with Zabuza, Sakura turned to Kakashi with a curious look.
"Well, as long as he uses some of the money to help the people Gato oppressed, we've done a good deed. As for the technology, we'll see what happens."
Kakashi shrugged casually. Regardless, the era of technology for all wasn't far off.
"Um, Kakashi-sensei, since Haku is gone and there's no one to spar with, can you teach us Ninjutsu now? We've improved a lot lately. Are we qualified yet?"
Seeing Haku leave made Uzumaki Naruto a bit sad, but he quickly realized this might be their chance to learn Ninjutsu.
"Before learning Ninjutsu, we need to test your Chakra natures to see what suits you best."
Kakashi thought for a moment. It would still be a while before the bridge was finished, and with Haku gone, Naruto and the others would likely pester him constantly. He might as well teach them something.
"Awesome!"
Uzumaki Naruto shouted with joy.
A hint of excitement also flashed in Sakura's and Sasuke's eyes.
Kakashi then took out several pieces of Chakra induction paper he had prepared and explained how to use them.
By channeling Chakra into the paper, one could determine their nature based on the paper's reaction.
Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke each took a piece and began the test as instructed.
"Eh, the paper split in half."
"It seems your Chakra nature is Wind," Kakashi explained. Without the Power of Six Paths, Naruto's primary nature was indeed Wind.
"Eh?" Naruto felt like a deflated balloon. "Does that mean I can't learn your Lightning Release Ninjutsu, Kakashi-sensei?"
"Well, theoretically, yes. But don't underestimate the Wind nature; it has incredible offensive power."
"Really? What powerful Ninjutsu are there? Teach me!"
Uzumaki Naruto's eyes lit up as he looked at Kakashi expectantly.
"Uh... well, I don't actually know many Wind Release techniques."
The Wind Release techniques he had copied were mostly simple C-rank or B-rank ones.
"Mine are Lightning and Fire, right?"
Uchiha Sasuke interrupted, feeling much better. It seemed Naruto still couldn't match him!
Since he had the Lightning nature, he could learn those two powerful techniques Kakashi had shown before.
"Mine are Water and Earth..." Sakura said with a hint of regret.
"Oh! Sakura has Earth? Perfect! My signature Earth Release Ninjutsu finally has a successor!"
Hearing Sakura, Kakashi quickly avoided Naruto's resentful gaze and turned to her with delight.
"Eh? Kakashi-sensei's signature Earth Release Ninjutsu?" Sakura blinked, her mood improving instantly.
Naruto and Sasuke were shocked. A signature technique? It had to be even more powerful than the Electromagnetic Rasengan Gun or Raikiri!
Dammit! Why didn't they have the Earth nature?
"That's right. Watch closely. Earth Release: Earth Style: Earth Wall!"
Kakashi's hands blurred through seals before he slammed his palms onto the ground.
Immediately, an earth wall decorated with four dog heads rose from the ground.
"..."
Sakura stared at it, dumbfounded.
Pfft—
"Hahaha! Sorry, I couldn't help it."
Uzumaki Naruto burst out laughing at the wall with four dog heads. He had really expected something incredible.
Idiot—Uchiha Sasuke was speechless in his heart.
"Um, Kakashi-sensei, are these four dog heads on the wall special? Can they breathe fire, water, wind, and lightning?"
Sakura asked, still hoping for something more.
Kakashi shook his head and explained, "It's called Dog Head Protection!"
