Sunlight slipped through the curtains.
Camille opened her eyes slowly.
For a few seconds, she didn't recognize the room.
Then she felt the warmth beside her.
Dante.
She turned her head.
He was still asleep, one arm resting across her waist, his face unusually peaceful.
Camille smiled.
Her eyes moved toward her left hand.
The wedding ring caught the morning light.
She stared at it for a long moment.
Married.
She was actually married.
A quiet laugh escaped her.
Dante's eyes opened.
"What are you laughing at?"
She turned toward him.
"You're awake."
"Unfortunately."
She laughed.
He pulled her closer.
"Come here."
She settled against his chest.
"Good morning, husband."
His eyes softened immediately.
"Say that again."
She smiled.
"Good morning, husband."
He kissed her forehead.
"Good morning, wife."
She felt warmth spread through her chest.
Neither of them spoke for a while.
Then Dante whispered,
"Do you regret it?"
She lifted her head.
"Marrying you?"
