Bernard's POV
The call from Gordon came on a Tuesday afternoon that had been perfectly ordinary until that moment. I was buried in quarterly reports when Linda buzzed through, her voice unusually tense as she mentioned Gordon sounded "extremely urgent" today.
"Bernard, we have a serious situation." Gordon's voice cut straight through any pleasantries. "We need to discuss this immediately."
My chest tightened. Gordon never abandoned his usual diplomatic tone unless we were facing real trouble.
"Tell me what's wrong."
"Confidential details from our supply agreement have been compromised," he said without hesitation. "Pricing structures, exclusivity clauses, performance metrics. The kind of information that could destroy our competitive position if it reaches the wrong hands."
Ice flooded my veins.
"How specific are we talking?"
