She stops walking the moment she sees Serene. Her chest tightens and her mind flashes back to the night before. Serene smiles like nothing has happened. The mall suddenly felt over crowded... too loud. Sere even goes ahead to hug her. "Audrey! Oh my God, where have you been?" she asked, feigning innocence as she wraps her arms around her. this same hands were the ones used to betray her that night.
Elsewhere, Nathan noticed Audrey had been gone for long so he went in search of her as Jane made payment for their items. He's eyes narrowed when he saw Serene with Audrey. He pulls Audrey from Serene's embrace immediately he got there. His voice was calm but sharp. "You should stay away from her". After Serene was pushed that she realized Audrey has been stiff the whole time. She then realized Audrey and Nathan knew she was involved in the incident that happen the day before. She becomes nervous but hides it. " And why should I stay away from my friend?" She asked nervously. They all stood there looking at her with scrutinizing eyes. Just then Jane walked in.
" What is this lady doing here?" Jane asked with rage. " Haven't you done enough already?" She asked again as she continues to approach her. All this while, Audrey was silently looking at her with Nathan standing by her side. Audery knew she had to step in or Jane will do something regretful. They had nobody to defend them. Jane being her elder sister has always been her shield. She knew Jane will beat Serene up if given the chance and it will land her in prison. They already had too many enemies who will like to see them fail and in trouble. "Nathan please stop Jane" she said softly and Nathan moved swiftly to stop Jane from touching Serene.
Serene looked so bewildered with how things were going. She even regretted coming to the mall. She came to the mall today specifically because Damien has promised to introduce her to the whole world and family as his fiancé day after tomorrow at his grandfather's birthday celebration. She didn't know she will run into Audrey here, but she was thrilled when she did because she had wanted to mock her and let her know her new status as Damien's girlfriend. She did not expect the turn of events. Nobody was here to defend her, and she could tell the sisters had Nathan's backing. She couldn't match up to them. She left the place embarrassed as people had taking videos for what happened and posted them online. As she was walking away, she swore in her heart that she will make the sisters pay.
Nathan just took the weak Audrey away as Jane followed still angry about Serene. As the got home, Audrey left to her room to rest and left both of them in the hall. They knew she was hurt by Serene's betrayal because she was her best friend. She assisted her to get movie roles when she started her movie career. She was always the supporting actress whereas Serene will be the lead actress. but sometime later, she was being noticed for her good work and being given lead roles. She stopped starring in movies with Serene, but they maintained their friendship.
Jane went into the kitchen to cook as Nathan worked on his phone. He had wanted to leave but Jane insisted her had dinner with them before he goes. He went to the kitchen to get water when Jane stopped him. "Umm Sir, can i ask you a question?" "Yes, go ahead and please don't call me sir. Nathan will do" he said. " What are your intentions towards my sister? Why are you helping her? Aren't supposed to be Damien's uncle?" she asked all at once. Nathan smiled and said " I just like her as a person. I have followed her since Damien introduced her to the family as his woman and I knew he was not worth her love and yes, I am Damien's uncle, but I don't support evil. Especially towards a beautiful soul. Jane then said " I will like us to have a lengthy conversation after dinner. It should be between the two of us. Audrey shouldn't know about it". Nathan gave a smirk and said " Well, I am a businessman remember?" He then left the kitchen.
