Indra Shetty was not having a good day.
Homelander had become far more erratic and their contingency plan was not quite ready yet!
"Hello Dean Shetty, Adem Aslan is here to see you." Her assistant's voice over the telecom brought her out her thoughts.
'And speak of the Devil…' she thought before telling her assistant to allow the Number 1 student to enter her office.
"Hello Adem, it is a pleasure to see you." She said with an inviting smile on her face.
"You as well, Miss Shetty, may I take a seat?" Adem said, returning her smile.
"Of course," she said
After sitting down Adem remained silent.
"So Adem, what brought you here?" She eventually asked.
"Well you see, when I was a kid I watched a movie. It was a crappy old movie. The CGI was terrible. The story made no sense. The acting was subpar at best. And yet, there was one scene that I always remembered." He said as a thoughtful smile appeared on his face. "The movie was Spy Kids 2. Steve Buscemmi's character asked a question that stayed with me to this day… 'Do you think God stays in heaven because he, too, lives in fear of what he's created here on Earth?'." Dean Shetty shifted a little on her desk. She was seemingly reaching for a button.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Adem said as his eyes shone bright red and Dean took a step back.
"Adem? Is- Is everything alright? You are acting strange." she said as she quickly regained her composure.
"Am I now? Well, I suppose it is normal, considering I just learned the truth about this fucking school, and what you cunts have been doing behind the scenes. Using MY girlfriend for your own gains." He said as the door to her office opened once again, and Cate and Luke walked.
Dean Shetty looked for her assistant but noticed she wasn't on her desk anymore.
"Don't worry. She is just taking a break." Cate said with a scowl present on her face.
"Cate… I do not know what you think is going on but-" Shetty began but Adem cut her off.
"Shut the fuck up will you… Now Cate, if you will?" Adem spoke up as his girlfriend placed a hand on Dean Shetty,
"You will answer all our questions with the full truth." She commanded,
"I will, of course." Dean Shetty said through gritted teeth.
"Where is my brother?" Luke asked
"Your brother is being kept in a holding cell in the Woods containment facility. It is 26 km to the north east of here. In is an underground facility." She said
"How many other Supes are being held there?" Adem asked.
"There are 6 Supes being contained there." She said, "They are all as unstable as Sam,"
"Tell us about the security measures, and any experiments going on in there." He said, and despite looking like she tried to stop herself, she told them everything she knew about Woods and experiments going on in there.
After she was done explaining, Luke asked her, "What have you done to Sam?"
Dean Shetty then told, in graphical detail about the torturous experiments they had performed on his little brother.
Luke was about to jump at her, but Adem stopped him.
"Calm down Luke." Adem said and Luke begrudgingly nodded his head.
"Why the fuck would you do all this?" Cate asked as a drop of tear fell from her left eye.
"It's because of Homelander." Dean Shetty said with a longing look in her eyes "My daughter and husband were on Flight 37… They died because of Homelander. Because that's what you do. What you all do. Most of the time you don't mean it, but wherever your kind goes, destruction follows." she said and this got an ominous chuckle from Adem.
"The same flight that was hijacked by normal humans? Sure, Homelander fucked it up. But was it really destruction following us, or you blaming it on us?" He said before looking at the widow right in the eyes "You know, I am not a licensed manipulative bitch- aka a therapist- but I can see when a cunt projects her own insecurities onto others." He said as he shook his head.
"Your husband and daughter died not because of Supes. They died simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But it is easier for you to take your anger out on us then it is to simply face the fact that you were powerless to help them, and the man who could help them, fucked it up. And you know what, I could understand your frustration if it wasn't for the fact that you and people you are friends with worked tirelessly to cover up Homelander's ass for decades." He said as he levitated and flew towards her. "Now, I want you to know that every single person in this room wants to skin you alive. But today is your lucky day. We still need you." He said before gesturing towards his girlfriend.
She grabbed Dean Sherry's arm. "You will arrange for Sam's transfer to his old home. You will convince your higher ups this is an essential step for Project Golden Boy. You will not spare any expenses to get actual help for Sam. Before you send him, I'll erase his mind of the torture you-" she suddenly stopped and took a deep breath "-we put him through."
Her eyes began to turn bloody.
"Cate, do you need a minute?" Adem asked.
"No… I'm fine." She said before continuing "From now on, you will report back everything pertaining to us, Sam, and the Woods project back to Adem biweekly. You will not tell anyone in any fashion about our talk and starting the moment we walk out of that room, act as if it hasn't happened. Do you understand?" Cate ordered as a little blood fell from her nose.
"I do." Dean Shetty said as Cate let her go, she was losing her balance so Adem quickly caught her.
Just before they left, Shetty spoke up, "This just proves what I have always known. That you are all monsters."
"Well… You made us."
