"I only wish to serve you. It is the least that I could do for the bride of my former master. If it would help make you trust me then I will agree to it without question". He said as he bowed to me once again.
"Fine, I will need the power of a full moon to be able to ensure that the pact that I form with your entire house is at its strongest."
"As you wish my empress. Is there anything that you would want us to assist you in this upcoming contest between now and the contest with the students from the school of the Devine Arts?" he asked me in a submissive tone as he returned to a kneel position.
The fact that he was willing to reveal himself to me and serve me without questioning where my loyalties lie meant that I could use him and his family to gather me information and possibly any new defenses and magic types that my former village.
This time I would be going alone on the journey to the human village because the Dark Arts academy believe that as a villain you must earn all your major advancements as a means prove that you have the evil drive to make it in the normal regions alone. If somehow you fell prey to the lure of being good and kind to those around you then you would be classified as irreversibly contaminated and never allowed back into the dark region ever again.
"All right then I want you to gather me as much intel you can on the village of my birth. I need military strength and types of magic that they wield. If you can do this successfully without revealing that you work for me then I will consider you family as part of my rising organization.
If you fail me the consequences will be server." I said as I began to shake a vile of blood that was hanging from around my neck in front of him.
Then I made it to the barrier and placed my right hand on it. next put the energy from inside of me all on the front section of my palm and began vibrating the magic at the same frequency as the barrier and it shattered a few moments later.
As I made it to my dorm, I saw that my elvan slave was kneeling at the right side of the door which I could admit made me feel proud to be the master of such an obedient slave.
"Master, I have spent the bit of time after my course that I took to learn the duties that I had to uphold as your slave preparing you for the journey." She said to me in a very submissive tone as I approached her.
"That is good to hear because I ill warn you that if you ever step out of line I will take personally take pride in breaking your will to make sure that you do not defy or fail me ever again." I said to her as I lifted her head and looked into her eyes to where she could clearly see that I was not kidding about what I had said to her.
She started to shake as I looked at her and then I could smell the fear that was coming off her and it felt amazing. I would have to use her as a test subject so that I would be ready for when I get to the top of the school.
"I would never fail you my master". She said to me in a fearful tone.
"Well as long as you understand I need to get going on my long journey to the city where we will fight the Devine students to prove that we at the dark academy are superior." I said as I walked into my room where I saw my pet dragon laying in a bed that was made for her that was to the left of my bed.
I did not have to say a single word to get my blood dragon's attention because she flew onto my shoulder.
"Go grab the things that you packed for the journey. I am going to start walking there now. If you ever fall behind me do not expect me to slow down for someone that is so weak." I said as I started to sprint towards the barrier that separated the dark region from the rest of the world.
As I made it to the barrier I tried to break it open and go through it with the power of my blood magic but I could not push about halfway through and have my right hand and head through it before I was thrust back into the side I was previously on.
"Master Zenith, may I recommend that we try something?" my blood dragon asked me when she saw that I was not able to get entirely through the barrier on my own.
"Yes, Hynroe what is it that you want to try?" I asked her as I stroked under her chin a few times as I looked at her.
"I believe that the only way that you can break through the barrier would be if you were to merge with me. To do this you will need to mix a few drops of my blood with yours and drink it. the merging will allow you to add the power of my blood magic to your own, but there are a few effects of doing this that you should know about this merging method that makes it risky."
"What is it that you are so worried about if we merge?" I asked my dragon in a serious tone that told her that I was going to want to ensure that I knew most of the details before deciding what I was going to choose.
"There are two risks involved with us merging into one being. First if we merge you will get your body covered with dragon scales permanently. The number of scales will increase each time we merge. The second effect is the most permanent effect out of all of them. Effect number two is that after we merge the fifth time it will become permanent."
I stopped and punched the magical barrier out of rage. The impact from my punch was dispersed throughout the barrier.
"That sounds like it would not be worth it, but I do not think that I have a choice if I am going to get through the barrier. While I did not want to lose my blood dragon companion if I could avoid it. During this trip I did not have a choice if I wanted to get my revenge against the people who sold me to Lord Carvis.
"Well now you know why I was being so cautious about telling you about the merging".
"Yes, but in the end, it does not matter how risky it is because I do not have a choice if I want to be able to stray off the main path to go to the village of my birth.
Then I grabbed a spare vile that was meant to store blood in it from a small pouch that was wrapped around my waist.
This vile was about three inches tall and made of glass with a small sharp piece of metal attached to the right side of the vile. It also had a symbol of an elven face magically placed on the veil.
I pricked my right thumb and my blood began to drip out of it. When the vile was about half filled with my blood, I moved it away to where the drops of blood would no longer go into the vial.
"There I have put a decant amount of my blood into the vial. Now it is your turn." I said to her as I handed her the vile.
After that my blood dragon cast a light breath of blood magic energy that entirely filled up the vile.
When the vile was full I grabbed it and sealed it shut. Then I began to shake the vial and I could hear a light pitched chime sound for the first few seconds which told that the bloods were merging into a single color.
The blood glowed a bold red with a small tint of black running through it as if it was meant to be there but did not want to be noticed.
As I held the vile of mixed blood doubt began to come over me; I was truly unsure if it was worth the risk.
"Master you must remember that while there are risks involved in us merging there is no other way that you will be able break through the barrier in time. you must make it to the location of the contest against the Devine Academy."
She was right I really did not have any choice but to drink it and cause the fusion if I was to across the barrier.
I then drank the vile and I saw that I was getting closer to my dragon until a wave of red energy was the only thing in-between them. A few brief moments passed and I could no longer see her.
After the merging was successful, I felt rush to kill something course though me and I enhanced my right fist with my blood magic it began to glow black and then it pulsed red every few seconds.
I punched the barrier and shattered it into a bunch of magical fragments that were now on the ground around me which caused me to start laughing at what I had accomplished.
"With power like this I could so easily go and kill the bitch that killed demon lord Carves. After that I will kill the elder who offered both myself and my sister as a sacrifice." I said as I stepped away the shattered barrier.
It no longer mattered to me about the things that the school wanted me to do for them because the only thing that mattered to me was getting my revenge now that I had the power.
This meant that by the end of the night my contact with his brother will be done and I will would be free to do whatever I wish. All of the different ways that I could take my life all seemed to leave with me at the top and truthfully that was all that I cared about.
