Chapter 1 - UNUSUAL PRESENCE

Kuoh Academy stood at the heart of the town, its elegant white buildings shining beneath the morning sun. Students in crisp uniforms filled the halls with quiet chatter and laughter, giving the school a lively yet refined atmosphere.

Beneath its peaceful and prestigious appearance, however, there was a subtle sense that Kuoh held secrets far beyond ordinary school life.

Standing before it all was Meguna Fushi, a reincarnator from another world. He did not know much about the DxD universe, but he knew enough to understand that behind this beautiful, romance like world stood beings far more dangerous than ordinary humans. Still, none of that truly mattered to him, other than himself, he did not particularly care.

Today was his first day at this school, and now he was going to integrate himself into the story.

As he walked through the gates of Kuoh, he immediately caught the attention of several students, especially the girls.

His sharp features and striking looks were something no one could easily deny. Whispers quickly spread among the girls.

"Who is he?"

"He's so handsome…"

"Could he be a new student?"

Some even went as far as to compare him to Kiba, calling him even more handsome than the school's so called prince.

Meguna ignored all the attention he was getting. For him, small things like that hardly mattered. Carrying himself with calm indifference, he made his way toward the main building.

Along the way, he asked a boy nearby for the location of Class 2-B. The boy visibly shuddered at first, caught off guard by Meguna's intimidating presence, but quickly pointed him in the right direction.

When Meguna reached his classroom, the buzzing noise of conversations inside suddenly died down the moment he stepped through the door.

For a brief second, the room fell completely silent, then came the squeals from the girls.

"Is he the new student?!"

"He looks amazing!"

"Look at his eyes!"

Meguna paid them no mind and walked directly toward an empty seat near the middle row.

Some of the girls muttered that he was cold because of how indifferent he seemed, though most of them were simply pouting because he had not given them any attention.

As Meguna took his seat, the brown-haired boy sitting beside his desk leaned slightly closer, curiosity written all over his face.

"Yo, my name's Issei Hyoudou. What's yours?"

The moment Issei introduced himself, several girls quickly swarmed around Meguna's desk, nearly blocking Issei from his view. Before the situation could go any further, the bell rang.

Right on cue, the homeroom teacher entered the classroom, forcing the girls to reluctantly return to their seats.

The teacher then called out Meguna's name.

"Mr. Fushi."

Meguna complied and walked toward the board.

As he made his way to the front, the girls watched him with admiration, their eyes sparkling.

The teacher gestured toward the chalkboard.

"Please introduce yourself."

Meguna picked up the chalk, wrote his name across the board in clear strokes, then spoke in his deep, Sukuna like voice.

"Meguna Fushi."

His voice captivated the girls even more, to the point that excited whispers and soft shouts broke out across the room.

The teacher adjusted his glasses before asking "Is there anything you'd like to add about yourself?"

Meguna held his neck. "Nah I don't think so"

----

When he sat back down at his desk, Issei leaned toward him with an envious look.

"Man, I wish I had your voice and looks. It would've been so easy."

He let out a dramatic sigh before throwing his hands up.

"God, is it too much to ask to become a harem king?!" he shouted.

"Mr. Hyoudou, can you please be quiet?"

At that, Issei immediately straightened up in his seat.

"Yes, ma'am!"

Several girls nearby looked at him in disgust and muttered under their breath.

"Pervert."

"Why don't you just die?"

Meguna paid no attention to the exchange. Instead, he simply took out his notebook and pen, preparing himself for class.

Even as the lesson began, the watchful gazes of the girls never left him. It was almost as if their entire purpose in the room had become staring at him.

Resting his cheek against one palm, Meguna lazily held his pen in the other hand, his eyes fixed on the board.

From beside him, Issei spoke again in a low voice. "Hey, you should come hang out with us later. I'll introduce you to my other friends in the back."

The girls, clearly annoyed by Issei talking to Meguna, immediately snapped back.

"Shut up, pervert."

"We won't let you corrupt him with your ways."

"Yeah!"

The teacher, hearing the voices rise again, turned toward the class.

"Quiet down."

Meguna glanced sideways at Issei for a brief moment before returning his gaze to the board. 'How does a guy like this end up around so many beautiful girls with that dumb attitude?' His expression remained unreadable. 'Maybe the author really did just force everything without thinking too much about it. Then again I don't know much about the full story.'

----

When the break started, the girls immediately began swarming around Meguna's desk.At this point, it was beginning to genuinely annoy him.'Can't these students control their hormones even a little?'

Questions came at him from every direction.

"Where are you from?"

"Are you single?"

He did not answer a single one of them instead, he rose from his seat and left the classroom, searching for a place where he could think about his next move in peace.

"Fushi-san, where are you going?" Issei called out as he came running toward him, slightly out of breath.

Meguna stopped for a brief moment and turned his head just enough to look at him from the corner of his eye.

"Stop following me," Meguna said, his voice carrying a sharp edge of annoyance.

Issei immediately raised both hands in a placating gesture and took a small step back.

"Whoa, whoa, chill, dude. I was just asking," he replied with an awkward laugh, clearly caught off guard by the sudden hostility.

Meguna said nothing further, with a dismissive glance, he turned back around and continued walking down the corridor leaving Issei standing there.

Issei remained in place as watched Meguna's figure disappear farther down the hall. A puzzled expression slowly crossed his face. 'Man this guy's got a pretty hard to get along with' he thought to himself.

As meguna walked through the corridor, his presence caught the attention of a girl standing by the classroom windows. She carried herself with an effortless elegance that naturally drew the eyes of those around her.

Her long, silky black hair flowed down her back like a dark waterfall, with a single loose strand framing the side of her face in a way that only enhanced her refined beauty. Her violet eyes, deep and alluring, held a quiet sharpness beneath their warmth, as if they were always observing more than they let on. A gentle, graceful smile rested on her lips, one that could easily put others at ease, yet there was an undeniable intelligence and danger hidden behind it. This was Rias's queen, Akeno.

The moment her eyes fell upon Meguna, something about him immediately put her on guard. It was not merely his appearance, nor the unusual calmness in the way he walked through the corridor. There was something deeper, something hidden beneath the surface that her instincts immediately picked up on.

Her smile remained gentle, but inwardly, her senses sharpened.

Meguna, not giving her even a glance, simply walked past. His mind was clouded by irritation from the constant attention and the boredom of the day so far.

When he reached the cafeteria, the attention once again shifted toward him.

Students turned their heads as whisper spread.

"What, got something on my face?"

His expression was laced with irritation.

The girls nearby began whispering once more about how cool, handsome, and cold he looked.

'Tch… when is the series actually going to start?' his mind echoed.

After getting his lunch from the cafeteria, he headed outside the building and sat beneath a tree, finally finding a moment of quiet as he began eating.

---

Having sensed something unusual from the new student, Akeno made her way to inform Rias about him. Her steps were calm and composed, yet her mind remained focused on the unsettling presence she had felt from Meguna. It was not something she could immediately define, but there had been a distinct weight to his presence an unnatural stillness beneath his indifferent exterior that made her instincts remain alert.

After listening to Akeno's explanation, Rias fell silent for a moment. Seated with the natural poise and authority befitting the president of the Occult Research Club, she rested her gaze thoughtfully ahead, her crimson eyes narrowing ever so slightly in contemplation. Her expression remained composed, but it was clear that Akeno's words had captured her full attention.

"It seems like he might possess a Sacred Gear," Rias murmured, her voice low and thoughtful, as if weighing the possibility against everything she already knew. The idea did not seem far fetched to her.

Individuals with Sacred Gears often carried an unusual aura, something that could be sensed by those familiar with the supernatural world.
