Chapter 4 - A Decision

The next day, during class, Nayza kept thinking about how to ask him. "How do I even ask him what his problem with me is...?"

Several times, she tried to speak. Her lips parted slightly, only for the words to disappear before they could come out. After a few failed attempts, she fell silent again.

Erhaan noticed her unusual behavior, but he said nothing.

Later, during the break, Leera walked over to Nayza's desk. "Come on, let's go eat something in the canteen."

Nayza gave her a small smile. "I'm not really in the mood right now. You guys go."

Leera nodded gently. "Alright. If you don't feel like it, I won't force you."

Soon, Leera and Yesir headed to the canteen together. The moment they entered, Yesir noticed Erhaan sitting alone at one of the tables.

The two of them walked over and started talking to him.

"You could've told us," Yesir said. "We would've come together."

Erhaan looked at him calmly. "I didn't want to disturb you guys."

"What are you even saying, idiot?" Yesir replied with a light laugh.

Beside him, Leera grew slightly shy before speaking softly, "It's not like that. We're all friends... so it would be better if you started staying with us again like before."

Meanwhile, back in the classroom, Nayza sat quietly at her desk with her head lowered, absentmindedly writing in her notebook.

A faint heaviness settled inside her chest.

"What am I supposed to do...?"

"Ever since I started sitting beside Erhaan, I can't understand anything anymore. He reminds me too much of my high school days. It feels like the same thing is happening here too."

Her grip around the pen tightened slightly.

"I thought I would change this time. I thought I'd become normal... like everyone else. But if things keep going like this, my confidence will break all over again."

After a long silence, she slowly lifted her head.

"No," she murmured quietly to herself. "I'm not going to ask him anything anymore."

For a moment, her gaze drifted toward the classroom window before she continued in her mind,

"I only have one option left now... and that's what I'll do. Maybe then I'll finally be able to enjoy being here without constantly wondering whether someone likes me or not."

The next day when Nayza arrived at university. she didn't go to her classroom instead.

She walks straight to the teacher's cabin.

For a moment, She stood outside the door, hesitating... as if even she wasn't completely sure about what she was about to do.

Then she knocked,

"come in,"

She stepped inside and spoke politely,

"Uhm... exuse me sir, I wanted to ask if I could change my seat."

The teacher looked at her for a moment, Slightly, surprised, but nodded.

"Alright, let me check which seats are available."

Nayza quietly Stood there, her fingers lightly clasped together.

After a few minutes, the teacher spoke again,

"there is one seat vacant... but a boy sits there as well. Will that be a problem for you?"

Without thinking twice, Nayza shook her head,

"No sir, not at all."

"All right, then," he said, nothing it down."you can sit there from today."

when Nayza entered the classroom, everything felt the same as always.

And yet... something inside her felt different.

She walked towards the seat right behind leera and sat down.

A boy was already sitting there.

Leera turned around immediately, surprised. "Nayza? you are sitting here?, what happened?"

Nayza gave a small smile, keeping her voice light,"No nothing like that. I just wanted to change my seat. So I asked sir."

Leera frowned slightly, "but why and what was it?"

For a second Nayza hesitated than she looked away and said, softly, "Yeah, I will tell you everything. I'll call you when I get Home."

Just then Yesir entered the classroom.

As he walked to his seat, his steps slowed, when he noticed Nayza, sitting there.

His expression shifted to confusion,

"Nayza? What happened? you changed your seat," he asked, "did something happened? or did Erhaan said something?"

Then almost under his breath, he added, "I don't think He would have said anything."

Nayza, simply smiled calm, composed,

"No, nothing like that. I just got bored sitting there and anyway, I wanted to talk with Lira."

Yesir and Leera, they both didn't look fully convinced. But both didn't push further.

"Sit down," Leera said excitedly. "I have something interesting to show you."

Nayza was placing her bag on the desk when her eyes unintentionally shifted toward Erhaan.

He was sitting there calmly, completely normal, as if nothing had changed at all.

For some reason, that bothered her more. "Looking at him… it feels like this is exactly what he wanted, she thought quietly. It doesn't seem like he cares even a little."

Lost in those thoughts, Nayza slowly sat down in her seat.

From the seat in front of her, Leera stared at Nayza in shock for a moment, while Yesir sat beside her quietly looking toward door. Meanwhile, Nayza remained completely unaware, still lost in her own thoughts.

"Hy... hey, Nayza..."

A voice suddenly broke her thoughts.

She blinked and turned to the side slightly startled.

"Yes? what is it?"

The boy sitting next to her gave a small polite smile,

"Maybe you didn't realize... but you're sitting on my hand."

For a second, her mind went blank.

Then she immediately jumped to her feet,

"I'm sorry. I didn't see, I swear I'm really, really sorry."

The boy chuckled softly clearly amused, but gentle.

"it's okay, really. I understand. No one would do that intentionally. Things like that just happened...please sit."

Still a little embarrassed, Nayza nodded and sat down carefully.

What the hell just happend...

Her thoughts were still racing.

She took a small breath and steadied herself.

"Yeah, you are right,"

Yesir noticed them, while Leera laughing at Nayza and said, "Meet him. He's our childhood friend whom I talked about that day.

The boy smile slightly and said,

"Doruk, I'm Doruk Azevior."

Nayza blinked, still a bit distracted.

"Huh..Hey, I'm Nayza Zaryeth."

He looked at her with a faint, knowing expression.

"Yeah...I already knew your name."

For a brief moment.

Everything felt oddly... complicated.
