Hey, what are you doing? Don't rush in carelessly! You'll all die like that. Hold your position and play properly, we have to win this battle!.
The sound of gunfire echoed through the room along with Nayza's voice as she focused completely on the game.
Her fingers moved quickly across the screen, her entire attention fixed on the match.
A few moments later, she groaned in frustration and threw her phone onto the bed.
Ah damn it... we lost again. These random teammates are seriously biggest noob's of all time.
They don't even know how to play as a teammate.
Just then, the door of her room opened.
Her mother walked in and looked at her with disappointed.
"Of course. Playing games again. That's all that's left now, isn't it?" she said sharply.
Nayza looked at her with irritation." So what if I'm playing games?"
Her voice slowly lost its anger as she continued.
"I've been stuck inside this house for the last two years... ever since high school ended. I'm not even in touch with any of my friends anymore."
She paused for a second before forcing out a bitter laugh. "Or maybe I should say they were the ones who ended everything with me."
Her mother sighed impatiently." So what? There are other things in life too. You need to move on."
Then why won't he send me to university?" Nayza asked bitterly." Because he doesn't like me. That's the only reason he's wasting my years like this."
Her mother frowned at her words. "How can you say something like that about your father?"
"I don't want to talk about this," Nayza muttered.
Her eyes slowly filled with tears until the person standing in front of her started to look blurry.
Her mother walked closer, picked up the phone from the bed, and said, "Let's see how you play now."
"Yeah, take it away," Nayza replied, but her voice had already started breaking like she was about to cry. "What's even left for me anyway? Even my own father doesn't love me, so why should I expect anything from you?"
Tears rolled down her cheeks as years of frustration poured out of her.
"You never let me go outside with friends. And obviously they wanted someone they could actually hang out with. "She laughed weakly through her tears. "Who would even want to stay friends with a girl like me?"
"Enough already," her mother snapped. "Friends, friends, friends... what exactly happened that made you become this obsessed with games?"
Nayza stayed silent.
"It's not about friends only." Without saying another word, se walked out of the room. A few minutes later, she locked herself inside another dark room and sat down quietly on the floor.
The tears wouldn't stop.
Why does my chest hurt so much...?
She pressed her hand against her chest, trying hard to control her breathing.
Crying itself felt painful.
I can't cry... I really can't...
She forced herself to calm down, wiping away her tears before forcing a shaky smile onto her face, desperately trying not to break down completely because the pain in her chest had become unbearable.
Nayza had never really cared about her health.
It wasn't that she dislike food. In fact, she used to love it. But for the past two years, things had changed. She barely ate properly anymore. meals became smaller, then irregular, and eventually, almost nonexistent.
It wasn't just about food.
There was a strange kind of emptiness inside her. A quite loneliness that refuse to leave. Sometimes she would find herself thinking... what if I just fall sick and one day everything ends.?
Not because she wanted attention.
Not because she wanted sympathy.
But because she was tired.
Tired of feeling unheard.
That night, her mother told her father everything about Nayza, her behavior, her attitude, and the way she had been acting lately.
After listening quietly, her father finally spoke.
"Fine. I'll get her admitted to a university," he said coldly. It's a five years course, but she'll have to start from the third year. At least her last two years won't go to waste like that."
He paused before continuing with visible irritation in his voice.
"Anyway, it's better if she lives separately from us. I don't want to see her face anymore. Looking at her doesn't even feel like looking at my own daughter. She has too much attitude and never listens to a single thing I say."
With in a week, Nayza's admission was completed in another city.
Her parents rented a small apartment for her in new city far away from home.
They had even bought her a car Nissan Skyline GT-R r34, she could travel on her own without depending on anyone.
Before leaving, her mother handed her some money and said, "We'll send you money every month for your expenses. Just don't trouble us."
Despite everything, Life didn't stop.
Days passed, one after another, blending into each other like they always did. Untill finally, the day arrived.
The first day of university.
A new place.
New people.
A chance, perhaps... for something different.
That morning nayza stood in front of the mirror for a long time.
She didn't try too hard to look perfect, just simple, neat, good enough to not stand out, but not invisible either.
Because deep down, she didn't want attention.
But she didn't want to feel invisible anymore either.
When she reached university, that atmosphere felt unfamiliar yet strangely alive.
Students were everywhere, talking laughing, forming groups as if they had known each other forever.
Nayza, as always, stayed quite.
She walked into her class and looked around, trying to decide where to sit.
That's when she noticed an empty seat,
Walked toward the seat,
Nayza sat alone at her seat, quietly waiting for the teacher to arrive.
Just then, a girl walked up to her and asked, "You're the new student, right?"
Nayza looked at her and nodded softly. "Yeah."
The girl smiled warmly before extending her hand toward her.
"I'm leera Vaelric."
Nayza gently placed her hand against hers. "I'm Nayza Zaryeth."
Leera's smiled widened. "Let's be friend?"
For a moment, Nayza stayed silent.
Then a small smile slowly appeared on her face.
"Yeah... sure."
And just like that, the conversation just begin.
Classes began, introductions happened, and time moved forward.
Leera turned out to be talkative comfortable, easy to be around.
The kind of person who could fill silence without making it awkward.
For nayza, that was... new.
She didn't say much but she listened.
And somehow that was enough for now.
After returning home from university, Nayza lay down on her bed stared quietly at the ceiling above the fan.
The first day went fine... probably because I'm new student to her.
A faint smile appeared on her lips before slowly fading away.
But once I become just another old student... she'll probably get bored of me and end the friendship too.
