"Aiden."
I said his name in surprise, pushing my chair back.
Alexander, who had been standing beside me, immediately reached out to steady me as I rose, making sure I didn't step on the hem of my gown.
"Congratulations, Alicia."
Aiden's smile was genuine as he pulled me into a brief, one-armed hug.
"Thank you."
"When did you arrive?"
"Just a moment ago."
He gave me an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry I missed the ceremony. I was in New York for a shoot when I received the invitation. I couldn't leave in the middle of filming, so I had to wait until we finished before I could take a break and come here."
I smiled warmly.
"It's alright, Aiden. I'm just happy you made it."
Before I could say anything else, I felt Alexander's arm slide around my waist.
The gesture immediately drew Aiden's attention.
"Alexander."
"You made it."
Aiden nodded, his smile widening.
"Congratulations. I wish you both a long and happy life together."
