Alicia's POV
Just as Alexander promised, two days later he personally escorted Aimy and me to the airport.
"You really should've gone straight to the company," I said as we stepped onto the tarmac. Our flight was scheduled for early morning, so I'd told him there was no need to come. But, as usual, he insisted on seeing us off.
Instead of answering, his eyes softened as they rested on me.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?"
I smiled helplessly.
"We've been over this for days, Alexander. Aimy and I will be fine. You don't have to come with us."
He let out a quiet sigh before glancing toward Aimy, who was already boarding the private jet with the trusted staff he'd assigned to accompany us.
"Alright," he finally said.
"But promise you'll call me if anything happens."
"I will."
Before I could lose my courage, I stood on my tiptoes and pressed a gentle kiss against his lips.
Alexander's eyes widened in surprise.
