"That won't be necessary," she said softly. "I think it's better if I work here."
I pulled back slightly to look at her.
"You want to return to Blackwood Dominion?"
She nodded.
"Well... that's where I started, isn't it?"
"But I don't want you returning just because of that."
She smiled faintly.
"That's not the only reason."
She paused before continuing.
"Whitemore Industries belongs to my family, but Blackwood Dominion was there long before that."
"It's where I built my career... and it's Nana's legacy. She trusted me with it."
I studied her quietly.
"What about your family?"
Her eyes softened.
"My family is where you and Aimy are now."
She reached for my hand.
"The family I have in Rosewood Town will always be there."
She smiled gently.
"And I can always visit them."
There wasn't the slightest hesitation in her eyes.
Only certainty.
Only determination.
I leaned forward and pulled her closer.
"If that's what you want..."
I kissed the top of her head.
