Claire rushed in and cut between them.
"This fight is over," She yelled out loud.
"It's fine, I can continue," Nathan said as he tried to go back.
"No we are leaving," Claire yelled and dragged Nathan away.
When they stepped out they heard a commotion. They saw several people running out of a building.
They both watched as they wondered what was going on.
Gideon and his team ran out. They saw the people running out and approached them.
"What's going on?" Gideon asked a woman.
"He broke free," the woman said and ran away.
Gideon and his team charged into the building. A couple guided people out the rest went inside to restrain whatever broke free.
"Let's go and help," Nathan suggested.
"Rest, I'll go," Claire replied.
She ran to help evacuate the building. Minutes after she arrived, Nathan joined her. She shook her head and Nathan smiled.
He helped her evacuate the building. Gideon and the other military men locked all the other doors leaving only the primary entry point.
Those evacuating stayed at the main entrance as they waited for others to bring out rescues.
Clair looked around for Nathan but he was nowhere to be found. Far away from the main entrance Nathan roamed the halls.
"Is anyone here?" he yelled looking around.
He saw a blood trail and followed it.
"Are you hurt, I can help," Nathan mentioned.
He arrived at a door, and inside was a man with his back turned. Blood ran down his leg.
He was about to walk in when a hand grabbed his shoulder from behind.
This startled Nathan but he turned to see it was Gideon.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I was helping with the evacuation and noticed the blood trail," Nathan explained.
"Never mind, get out of here. I will handle it," Gideon assured him.
He opened the door and walked into the room. He turned around to see Nathan watching him.
Nathan walked away.
"Sir, are you okay?" Gideon said and grabbed the man's shoulder.
Nathan heard a crashing sound and returned to see Gideon fighting a feral vampire on the floor.
Nathan quickly got in to help him.
"Stay back, it is dangerous," Gideon yelled at him.
Nathan stopped, he watched Gigeon struggle.
He grabbed a chair and hit the vampire with it. It fell over and he helped Gideon up.
"We need to cut off its head," Nathan yelled.
"Don't you think I know that?" Gideon replied.
The vampire lunged at them and Gideon pushed Nathan back. The vampire swung and clawed Gideon in the face.
Three slashes across his face bled. He wiped smudging the blood all over his face. It swung again and Gideon dodged.
He swung with a closed fist and hit it in the temple. He dodged more and kept hitting it in the head.
After a while, it got frustrated and pounced. He grabbed him and slammed his head against a wall.
'He wants to smash his head in,' Nathan thought as he watched from afar.
After smashing its head in a couple of times it fell and did not get back up.
Gideon turned to walk away and it grabbed his leg and bit him.
