When they got to the motel, Jane was already waiting with a young woman.
"Nathan, Mark this is Ora. Come inside, we need to talk," Jane said and walked into one of the rooms.
It was a standard motel with two beds. Ora laid a scarf on the bed which Jane sat on. Ora sat by her and Mark and Nathan sat on the adjacent bed.
"Payne Manor was built to prevent a monster invasion. Who knew the only demon inside could bring it down?" Jane said and Nathan bowed his head.
She sighed.
"Okay, Corvus has sent some demons to North Dakota. There is a dark priest there who can perform his coronation." Jane informed them.
"North Dakota, that might prove difficult. We are on a no-fly list. We will be arrested if we get to any airport," Mark explained.
"I know, Ora can help with that," Jane said and looked at Ora.
"What do we do with this dark priest when we find him?" Nathan asked.
"You kill him, don't let the demons get their hands on him," Jane instructed.
"I think we can keep him away from the demons without killing him," Nathan said.
"We can't risk them getting him. Get rid of him immediately you find him," Jane ordered.
After they were done strategizing, Ora inserted a key into the main door. She turned it and opened it.
The same door they entered the room through now led into a parish. Nathan looked at Ora when he saw the other side.
She held the door open for them to walk through then closed it behind her. Nathan bowed as a parishioner welcomed them in.
They immediately turned around and walked out. The parishioner shook her head as she watched the walk out.
"So how are we going to find this dark priest?" Mark said out loud.
"We should have looked around. The priest may be in his natural habitat," Nathan suggested.
"The dark priests are not ordinary men. They are high-level demons who perform demonic ceremonies," Ora explained.
"When I think I could no longer be surprised, you guys prove me wrong," Nathan said.
"A portal key, demons, dark priest. I don't think I can get used to this," Nathan added
"We should look for where there has been an unusual spike in crime. Dark priest converts good individuals into really evil people," Ora suggested.
"A bar is a really good place for getting to know what is going on in town," Nathan suggested.
"It's not even noon," Ora said and glared at Nathan.
"Hey, it's just a suggestion," Nathan said and Mark shook his head.
As they walked down the street. Mark noticed most of the shops had boarded up their windows.
Nathan on the other hand checked his phone for news about crime in the area. His search sent him to a neighborhood watch forum.
As he read through the thread he noticed a personality change among the members.
"You guys should look at this," Nathan called out to Mark and Ora.
"I just asked someone they have boarded up the windows of the shops. He said there have been several break-ins recently," Mark said as he walked toward Nathan.
"Yes, I think we are in the right place," Ora replied.
"Guys, the user watchtower turns bad overnight," Nathan said and Ora took his phone.
"Watchtower @Blockcaptain saw you dog at my side of the fence. Please pick up after him," Ora read out loud.
"Scroll down a couple of times and the post gets hostile," Nathan said.
Ora scrolled down until she found another post by watchtower.
"Watchtower @Blockcaptain I keep stepping in your dog's shit. Pick up after your dog or you will be stepping in mine," Ora read out loud.
"Maybe she is just frustrated," Mark suggested.
"No, I think Nathan is right. Watchtower threatens to kill the dog," Ora said.
"Yeah, the dog even dies and people believe she might have poisoned it," Nathan added.
Using the description in the chat they find the neighborhood. After talking to a couple of people the found Watchtower.
One neighborhood described her as a good woman.
"She used to babysit my Sara," the woman said and looked back at a young girl sitting on the couch behind her.
They thanked the woman for her time and she accompanied them out.
"I guess we found our dark priest," Nathan said.
"You think the woman is the dark priest?" Mark asked.
"No I think her husband is," Nathan clarified.
"Let's wait till dark and pay them a visit," Ora suggested.
