They ran away and hid in one of the wards.
"What the hell was that?" Nathan asked as Felix peeped through the keyhole.
"A shtriga?" Felix said.
"That looked nothing like a shtriga," Nathan sighed as he said.
"Yes, maybe that's the point. I have heard and read accounts of people who ran into shtrigas," Felix said as he walked back and forth.
"They usually had contradictions, which made people confused," Felix added.
"I don't get it. Are they two different creatures or not?" Nathan asked bluntly. Felix put his hand up and tiptoed towards the door.
He heard footsteps that zoomed across the hall. He listened to it quietly and waited for the sound to recede.
" Think this is the case of vampire lore. Movies give us vampires who burn in the sun and hate garlic," Felix explained.
"I don't get it," Nathan said with a frown.
"You saw Anatoly right?" Felix said and Nathan nodded.
"What if I told you there are vampires who will burn in the sun. They are called ferrels," Felix explained.
"So you are saying they are both shtrigas?" Nathan asked.
"Yes, just don't know if we can kill both the same way," Felix said as he checked how many shells they had left.
"I think it will work," Felix said out loud.
"What will work?" Nathan asked.
"Shtrigas are vampiric witches, what if some shtrigas have dominant vampiric sides while others have the opposite," Felix shared his thoughts with Nathan.
"So you are saying the shtriga hunting us has dominant vampire genes and the other one does not," Nathan asked.
"I don't know for sure but it's a good theory," Felix replied.
"Okay, so how do we kill them?" Nathan asked.
"I don't know, like how we normally kill a vampire and a witch," Felix suggested.
"Okay, we will just have to find them," Nathan said.
"No, they will find us. We just have to be ready when they do," Felix said, and walked out and Nathan was right behind him.
They roamed looking for things they might need to kill them.
"Mortal weapons worked on ordinary witches. Vampires on the other hand, you need to cut off their heads," Felix explained as they looked for a machete or something similar.
After a while, they found a bone saw but Nathan was skeptical because of the noise. They had searched for almost an hour and it was the only thing capable of decapitating a vampire.
They had their weapon and a plan. Felix was supposed to lure the shtriga to a room where Nathan would be waiting with the bone saw.
Felix went looking for the Shtrigas. He hoped to come across the more masculine one but did not hold his breath.
Nathan on the other hand had the bone saw plugged and ready. As he waited a shadow clouded him.
He turned and saw the shtriga. It started to suck his soul immediately he turned. Unable to move he dropped the bone saw.
