CHAPTER THREE: SELINA AND LEON
In the warmth of their home, Jin Selina shared a tale
with her young son, Jin Leon, a story that ignited his imagination and sense of
wonder, but what made this tale truly remarkable, was Selina's asurity that it
was rooted in truth.
"The realms where not just mere fantasy, but a reality
that had been witnessed by brave adventurers who dared to explore the unknown,
these brave adventurers where know", as his mother was about to say the name
Leon's eyes widened in curiousity,
"As realm adventurers, these realm adventurers driven by
curiosity and a thirst of discovery, ventured into the unknown, returning with
tails of breathtaking wonders and unspeakable horrors.
Their stories spoke of battle's won and battle's lost, of
lives claimed by the horrors in the realms, some adventurers had fallen, their
bravery and strength where no match for the fierce beings in the realms, while
some others barely escaped bearing scars that will forever remain with them:
Lost limbs, shattered courage and the haunting memories of the chaos they had
witness.
While some others came out of the realms with minimal
damage, these realm adventurers who manage to escape from the realms, they spread the knowledge they had of the realms
like wild fire, it was these stories that inspired story writers to write their
own tales of the realms", Selina's face got brighter with a smile on her face,
she said, "so as you can see my dear boy, these stories are true".
As the night evening drew to a close, Selina prepared to
tuck her young boy into bed.
"Time for sleep Leon", she whispered, her voice soft and
soothing, Leon's eyes sparkled with excitement, he immediately got up from bed,
his hair as dark as the midnight sky flowed with the wind coming through the
window, his soft four years old face so tender and soft, his chick lit bright
pink, his eyes immediately widened, his fragile yet firm body stood over three
feet tall, he clenched his fists, as he spoke to his mother saying: "Hey, you
no what mom", his mother in curiosity asking "what Leon" Leon with a warm smile
on his face saying "I'm going to be a realm adventurer, because that's now my
goal".
"Ha Leon that's a really good goal", his mother said with
a smile on her face, "but do you want to be the weakest realm adventurer or the
strongest realm adventurer?" Selina asking her son in curiosity to what his
answer would be.
"Ha that one's easy I want to be the strongest" Leon said
with an assuring look in his eyes.
"Hey Leon, would
you like me to tell you about the rankings in hunters and realm adventurers?"
Leon instantly
replying, "Yes mum" Selina was saying the rankings of the hunters like as if
she was a commendatory in wrestling.
"Ok, in the
hunters rankings we have the F rank hunter in the left corner facing of against
the E rank hunter in the right corner, And oh the F rank hunter is getting his
ass whooped, and hey Leon don't ever say that"
Leon laughing
"Hahaha ass whooped",
"Hey I just told you not to say that"
Selina continues
saying "And hey Leon it's not like an F rank hunter can't really beat a E rank
hunter, am just saying it like this so it will be fun for you and so you can
know which rank is above which, and on normal circumstances an E rank hunter
isn't supposed to beat an E rank hunter, you get it?"
Leon replying instantly again saying
"yes mum"
"And now the E rank hunter has progressed to the next
challenge, Were he will be facing of against a D rank hunter, And in this round
the E rank hunter is practically feeling sorry for himself as the D rank hunter
absolutely dominates him, so the one who will be progressing now will be the D
rank hunter, hey Leon this is getting tiring now so I'm just goanna skip all
this wrestling stuff and get to the point"
Selina asking her child
"Is that ok with you?"
"No!!" Leon said with a grompy look on his face.
"Come on Leon, it's time for bed"
Selina said with a warm smile on her face.
Leon said with a
sad look on his face.
"Ok"
Selina continued saying the rankings of the hunters.
"D rank is below C rank, C rank is below B rank, While A
rank hunters are above B rank hunters, then we have S rank hunters above A rank
hunters, there is still a rank called, then there is world rank hunters which
is above rank hunters, so that's the rankings for hunters so get some sleep and
tomorrow I will tell you the rankings of the realm adventurers.
Selina puts on a angry look on her face,
"Now get some
sleep!!."
Leon smiled at his mum,
"Ok mum, love you"
Selina makes a warm smile at Leon,
"Love you too Leon"
She tucks him in, raised his black hair and kissed his
fore head.
Serlina turned of the lights,
"Mum please turn the lights back on"
"Ok Leon"
She turned the lights on, closed the door, and leaves the
room.
A DAY AT SCHOOL
The next morning, Jin sung, Leon's father, roused him
from slumber. "Rise and shine, son! Time for school." Leon sprang out of bed,
his face alight with enthusiasm. He quickly washed, brushed,u dressed, and ate
a hearty breakfast before setting off for school.
The day passed without incident, and Leon returned home
in the evening, eager to share stories of his adventures with his parents.
"How was school?"
Jin Selina asked, her eyes sparkling with interest.
"It was fine, Mom," Leon replied, his face bright with a
smile, "Everything was peaceful."
But little did Leon know, the next day would be catastrophic.
As he walked through the school corridors the following
day, Leon collided with a boy named Han-Kim a boy of a wealthy and influential
family.
"Sorry," Leon apologized, but Han-Kim's face twisted in a snarl.
"You think a simple apology will suffice?"
Han-Kim sneered, his eyes flashing with malice. "You're
going to pay for bumping into me!"
"Hey guys hold him down for me"
Two other boys Jin-Soo and Jin-hoo grabbed a hold of
Leon's hand, they kicked his stomach, as he coughed out spit, he went down on
his knees.
Take this and this and this and this."
Han-Kim unleashed lfurious punches at Leon, all the
punches collided in his stomach.
"Puaaaaah….ah…ah..ah"
Leon was in pain but he didn't stop there, he wanted to
continue but then a voice echoed from behind.
"Stop it!!"
"Huh?"
"And who are you to tell me to stop."
Jin-kim inclined to know who it was, as he looked behind
and saw a young girl, with black hair that extended to her waist, and a fragile
two years old body, putting on black clothes, a dark shit, and skirt, traced
with a beautiful pink color,
"I can't share my name with the likes of you."
She struggled to talk a bit as she was only two years
old, very young.
"How, dare you, you brat, don't you know that's no way to
talk to your elders, hey you two what the hell are you waiting for, a formal
welcome, get her, before she calls the teachers, get her"
But in that split second when their grip released from
Leon's hand, he charged at them, as they were about to grab a hold of the
mysterious girl Leon grabbed their hands and shouted, "You can bully me all you
want, and I won't have the power to do anything about it, but I won't ever in
my life stand by and watch another person being bullied"
Han-Kim, Jin-Soo, and Jin-Hoo were about to punch Leon
but then a teacher barged in while shouting What's with all this ruckus.
Her brilliant blond hair swayed around, her iris mirrored
her hair, her mouth wide opened in shock, she wore a suit, with the color of
ash, it was well buttoned up to the bottom of her chest, she wore a white
brilliant shirt inside, her trousers mimicked her suit.
"What in the world is this? The four of you to my office
now!"
Jin-Hoo and Jin-Soo ran away.
But her eyes was not fortunate enough to caught the
mysterious girl hide behind a wall.
So Leon and Han-Kim followed her to her office.
Meanwhile, the school's administrative machinery sprang
into action. The teacher made two phone calls, one to Leon's parents and
another to Han-Kim's parents, informing them that their children had been
involved in an altercation and requesting their presence at the school.
When the parents arrived, the contrast between them was
striking.
Han-Kim's parents, flaunting their wealth and influence,
attempted to bribe the teacher. However, the teacher's refusal was swift and
resolute, her voice firm and angry.
"Keep your money!"
Just as the situation was escalating, the principal
intervened, his presence commanding attention.
"What's going on
here?"
He demanded, his voice stern.
The parents, unfazed by the teacher's rejection, turned
their charm on the principal.
"This teacher is unfairly targeting our son, the victim
of bullying,"
They claimed, their voices dripping with entitlement. "Is
this how you treat the son of a prestigious household?"
The principal's demeanor shifted, his eyes gleaming with
an unspoken understanding. It became clear that Han-Kim's parents had offered
him a bribe, while they were entering the school they saw the principal and
gave him a hand full of cash, so that he would help them save their son, and he
was now willing to turn a blind eye to the facts.
As the principal raised his hand to slap Leon, Jin
Selina's eyes flashed with fury. Her face twisted in a destructive scowl, she
caught the principal's hand in mid-air, her grip unyielding. The principal
yelled in pain and fear, his voice shrill.
"Let go of me!!.
As the tension escalated, Jin-sung intervened, his calm
and gentle voice a soothing balm to the situation. He tapped his wife's back,
his eyes locked on hers, and whispered, "Let's stop here."
Jin Selina's scowl softened, and she slowly released her
grip on the principal's hand.
And just when her grip had weakened the principal dragged
his hand off Selina's hold.
With the crisis averted, the couple turned and walked
away, leaving the school's drama behind. As they stepped into the comfort of
their home, Leon's contrite expression was a testament to his empathetic
nature.
"Mom, Dad, I'm
sorry,"
He began, his voice laced with regret.
However, his parents quickly reassured him that his
actions had been justified. "You didn't do anything wrong, we should probably
threat those injuries now Leon," Jin-Sung said, his voice calm. Jin Selina
nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with warmth. "There's nothing to
apologize for, sweetie."
The next day, Leon returned to school with a renewed
sense of purpose. In his classes, he began to learn about the realms and the
entities that inhabited them. His curiosity was intense and he diligently
copied down every detail into his notebook, eager to absorb as much knowledge
as possible about the fascinating world beyond his own.
