Chapter 9 - Going All Out

Kang Mu-seong punched Jin-Soo's face, sending him crashing into a nearby building. Then Kang Mu-seong met him there, punching and punching until they went through the fifth floor, fourth floor. With every blow they went through a floor.

Third floor.

Second floor.

Kang Mu-seong smashed Jin-Soo with both hands past the second floor.

He kept on punching Jin-Soo. They went deeper and deeper into the ground.

Jin-hoo and Baek Si-woo towered above them.

"Hey, what are the both of you looking at?"

They charged blasts.

"Oh, okay, I see." He glared.

He raised Jin-Soo from the ground, pointing him at the water shards and lightning bolts. His back got fried.

Kang Mu-seong stared at him, wanting to punch him. "No, he's already looking half dead."

He threw Jin-Soo away.

He jumped constantly, preparing for a big leap.

Fwoom.

He launched, punching Jin-hoo.

Baek Si-woo used wind magic, sending Kang Mu-seong towards Jin-hoo.

They landed from the building zone to the pipe zone.

"Huh? Oh, this is a pipe type of place."

Kang Mu-seong grinned.

"Perfect."

He licked open the pipe he was standing on, creating mist all around.

He jumped, appearing at the back of Jin-hoo, who was still laid on an obnoxiously huge pipe that had been bent.

Boom.

Kang Mu-seong hammered away at Jin-hoo.

Punches after punches, bending and bending the pipe.

Until it finally tore open.

Mist leaking out.

This time a different color. Black.

He kept on punching Jin-hoo. Baek Si-woo blasted lightning bolts at the direction he heard the sound from.

Kang Mu-seong dodged and started zapping around.

Baek Si-woo used wind magic and dispersed all the mist, black and white.

In that process it was like he was dispersing Kang Mu-seong too. He was caught in the wind. His body felt like he was about to be torn in two. Blood dripped from his nose, eyes, ears, and mouth.

"Aghh."

He was about to fall unconscious when he snapped awake again.

"My dad always says: falling asleep in the battlefield is a martial artist's biggest shame. So I won't do it. I won't yield!!"

He landed on a pipe, biting his lips to feel pain and force his body awake.

"It's time to finish this."

He lunged forward, trying to punch Baek Si-woo.

Baek Si-woo moved with lightning. He was half awake. He didn't want to lose.

After seeing this, Kang Mu-seong used his aura.

They both zapped around, a mix of yellow and red.

"Wha—what makes you think a mage can't fight close ran—range?" He barely talked, pupils faint in his eyes.

They clashed. Baek Si-woo enhanced himself. Fist met fist.

They zapped around the pipe zone, destroying and crashing into pipes. At one

point Kang Mu-seong was on top of Baek Si-woo. At the next, Baek Si-woo above him.

They traded blows, almost equal.

But Baek Si-woo tired out first.

He flew backwards, but Kang Mu-seong caught his leg. He used water magic, piercing Kang Mu-seong's hand.

But he didn't let go.

"Where do you think you're going? Final attack: Debt paid." A skill activated.

His aura got brighter and brighter, and still hotter.

"Now rest, you who managed to make me reach this point, that I have to rely on my system."

Boom.

Baek Si-woo took a punch to his guts, spitting everywhere.

He crashed on a pipe. The pipe bent, and Baek Si-woo just laid there, unconscious, as if the pipe was his throne. The effects of the monster core had worn off.

Kang Mu-seong went and picked his already captured flag and headed for his base.

Clang.

Sparks blazed around that building as they were moving back and forth.

Same attacks, same blocks, same counters.

It was like the rhythm of music.

Again and again and again they kept on clashing.

Red aura flared from Han-Kim's body. He slammed his sword against Baek Geom-Jin's sword.

Han-Kim swung from the bottom with his right hand, using his other blade.

Baek Geom-Jin raised his sword forward, pushing back Han-Kim's.

He wanted to slice Han-Kim's hand, but he noticed it was the sharp side of the blade. He immediately turned it to the flat side.

The sword made collision with Han-Kim's hand. His hand was sore.

He growled.

Baek Geom-Jin spun, kicking Han-Kim.

Han-Kim grabbed his sword mid-air. He used it to pin the roof of a building. He stopped himself, locked onto Baek Geom-Jin.

He leaped after a falling Baek Geom-Jin. They collided mid-air. Sparks danced from the metals.

They fell back to the building Han-Kim leaped from. The difference in strength was clear.

"Aaghhahgg." Han-Kim's language was no longer human.

"What sort of incantation are you saying now?" His eyebrow twitched forward, but only for a split second before settling back down. "You vile beast."

They went down, breaking ceiling after ceiling, somersaulting and clashing blades until they hit the last floor, Han-Kim's back on the ground.

"Do you quit?"

"Graaa, aghh, eghhh."

"Oh, that's right, I forgot while in this stupid state you can't talk." Baek Geom-Jin's curiosity suddenly vanished. "I guess I'll have to hit you in a vital spot to knock you out cold. Oh, what a stupid fool you've turned into. I feel so much shame fighting you."

"Raaaaaghh, raaaaaaaghh." Red aura flared out of his body, sending Baek Geom-Jin flying.

Han-Kim closed the distance. He swung at Baek Geom-Jin.

Baek Geom-Jin turned and parried his attack.

"How are you getting stronger?"

"Raaaagh." Han-Kim continued swinging his sword until they were on the ground.

"First form of the Geom household's sword technique." He muttered. Blue aura flared up. "Heaven Dividing Slash."

Blue aura blazed from Baek Geom-Jin's sword. It pushed Han-Kim upwards.

Baek Geom-Jin got up from the ground, leaping after Han-Kim.

They clashed.

Steel met steel.

Buildings split bit by bit as they kept clashing mid-air.

"Second form of the Geom household's sword technique." Aura flared. "Earth Dividing Slash."

Han-Kim flew down, crashing into the roof of a building still intact.

Baek Geom-Jin landed near him.

Han-Kim got up, spit dripping from his mouth, muscles aching, breathing heavily. "Ahg, aghh."

He thrust his blade. Baek Geom-Jin parried while flying back.

Strength, speed, agility, endurance—now on Han-Kim's side.

He had all that over Baek Geom-Jin as his strength kept on rising. They kept clashing.

At one point Han-Kim's powers stopped rising.

"Alright, take this."

Aura flared around Baek Geom-Jin's katana once more. "Heaven Dividing Slash + Earth Dividing Slash = Absolute Slash!"

Boom.

Sound erupted, echoing through the building area.

The fight ended, and Baek Geom-Jin walked away, heading for his base.

While almost at his base, Baek Geom-Jin's eyes picked up two archers on two separate buildings aiming at him.
