Magic - A Summary

Separate from Driving exists Magic, a wider, more accessible form of manipulation that most Rynthians are able to access and wield without much effort. Unlike its sibling, Magic makes use of predetermined spells crafted by scholars to allow the formation of artificial phenomena.

Across every inch of the world exists Jati, an often colorless substance that acts as the catalyst and basis for Magic. It powers the creation of spells, and will react and shift accordingly to the caster in countless different ways, creating unique signatures that a trained eye will be able to discern.

Magic is able to take on four forms: Primarys, Divinitas, Severis and Stray-si.

Primarys, the "Magic of the Elements", molds the natural energy in the world—air, water, fire, earth—and countless others to form evocative spells that amplify, modify, create, or destroy these elements.

Divinitas, the "Magic of the Divine", is powered by the belief in the countless gods in the Rynthian pantheon. It is said that for each notion and concept in the world, there exists a deity that holds ultimate power over it. It is from this reason that Divinitas shifts to take on the form of the deity's presiding authorities.

Severis, the "Magic of the Craft", is used to describe artificing. In essence, Severis is the art of infusing Jati into objects or constructs to create artifacts that may be activated to create various effects. These artifacts do not simply take the form of weapons or armor, but even commonly used household appliances like fridges and microwaves.

Stray-si, the "Magic of the Sundry", refers to all other spells that are not categorized into the other three.

Spells follow the tier system adopted by the Rynthian Magic Council. Tier 1 (Minor Arts) emerge as simple cantrips that assist with daily life while the highest at Tier 7 (Divine Arts) are exclusive to reality-altering spells or artifacts that hold enough power to upset any sense of balance in the world.
