Ray POV
"Should've said that earlier," Maya rolled her eyes before walking out the door.
I watched her back as she strutted away from the pavilion. I got some questioning looks from Anok and the security guards. But most importantly, Claudia was looking at me with eyes glistening with tears.
I knew that she must've felt wronged. So I patted her thigh again and said, "Calm down, love. I know that you're angry, but dealing with someone like that requires a lot more than just brute force. I've come to realize it after talking to her just now."
"Then, are you going to let her be for now?"
"..."
I took a deep breath, knowing that Claudia would not like my answer.
"Yes."
Before she could show her grievance, I added, "My grandpa is already eighty years old. Despite looking fit, he's still an old man in the end. He's stubborn and still has a sharp mind as long as it's not about my grandma."
