The way Ray said those words stunned me completely. I knew that he was trying to convince me that everything would be just fine, so I'd allow Aurora to speak with the detective tomorrow morning.
But he didn't have to say that I was confident, resilient, and smart in university, right? I doubted he even remembered a thing about me except for being a shameless girl who tried to get his attention.
On top of that… what was with the 'our daughter' thing? Obviously, a man like Ray wouldn't like to raise a child amidst his actually busy schedule. So, was that also a strategy so I'd lower my guard and allow Aurora to be questioned?
I quickly jerked my head away to avoid looking at him for much longer, knowing that my weak heart would've been conquered right then and there.
