"On a scale of one to ten, how screwed are you?" Anok asked as we stood side by side in front of the door. "I mean, I'm sure whatever you do must've angered Claudia, since I doubt you'd allow her to convince the Patriarch that you two are not together."
"Of course I won't allow that," I chuckled, thinking of Claudia's face when I interrupted her a few times. "But her rage is worth the chance. She wouldn't dare to come here with me if I told her that we're announcing our relationship in front of my grandpa."
"A relationship that she doesn't even know of?" Anok sneered. "Well, I can't really blame you. She's clueless as hell. But that's more because she's in denial, and will continue to be in denial because of her low self-esteem."
I knew that was true. Claudia would not admit it because she was scared of her own situation.
