Claudia POV
My brain had never been this hyper-focused before. All I could think of was to kill this woman to free my daughter from her torment.
Killing her would also release me from all the resentment and despair that I had felt for a long time. It was an eye for an eye, life for a life, and scar for a scar.
Since she had tormented, physically abused, and destroyed my marriage for so many years, I thought taking her life would be a fair trade.
"It doesn't matter if I have to rot in jail or die immediately after this, Clarissa," I muttered as I wrapped my hands around the knife handle. The tip of the knife was aiming straight at Clarissa's heart; all I had to do was plunge the knife right into her chest.
Clarissa's body started trembling, fear filling her eyes. But no matter how hard she tried to get away, she was still locked and crushed under my weight.
