The Oak-Sinar Medical Centre was quite far from Downtown Los Angeles, and the drive was quite slow because of traffic.
For each second that passed, my heart grew wary and my mind grew restless. I clenched the elephant doll in my hand, but quickly released it when I remembered that it was made for Aurora.
Aurora took care of her elephant dolls very carefully and got upset when the elephant's ear was ripped once when she was four.
I tried to make myself look as calm as possible, yet perhaps the nervousness was written all over my face that the taxi driver began making conversation in his gruff voice.
"Are you working in there, Miss?"
"S-sorry?" I tilted my head and looked at the taxi driver. "Working? In… that apartment?"
"Uh-huh," the driver nodded. "Gotta say, the money must be nice, huh? I heard that building is owned by a rich kid."
So, my suspicion about Ray owning the building was true. No wonder the building manager referred to him as 'Young Master.'
