The conversion process was divided into two main integrated components: genetic modification and organ surgery. Each part built upon the results of the other and enhanced its effects in a way that made the final outcome highly effective.
It began with the stage of precise genetic modification, targeting genes that had been selected with extreme care after years of study and experimentation on death-row prisoners.
The first modification involved disabling the myostatin gene, which in a normal human body acts as a regulator that limits muscle growth and prevents it from surpassing the biological ceiling established by the body itself.
Once this gene was disabled and that limitation removed, the muscles began growing and enlarging continuously at a rate far beyond what any normal human could achieve, even through the harshest and most intense training regimens.
Next came the activation of the PGC-1α4 gene, which transformed muscle fibers into the fastest and most powerful biologically possible contraction types. This granted the body explosive movement speed and striking power that exceeded by many times what an ordinary human or even a trained ninja could achieve through conventional training alone. Together with the removal of myostatin, this gene created an entirely different kind of muscular body.
Then came a third modification, more complex and with even deeper effects: the introduction of a mutated LRP5 gene. This stage had been the most difficult part of the research and required the greatest amount of time and experimentation because the desired form of the gene did not naturally exist in the human body and had to be specially developed and modified.
Dan had personally intervened at this stage and helped Fenrik and Hoshi create a living host environment for the gene within the body of a condemned prisoner, allowing them to study its mechanisms and precisely control its activity.
This gene significantly increased skeletal endurance, bone strength, and bone density, making the body's entire structural framework exceptionally durable and resilient at both the skeletal and tissue levels.
The fourth and final modification of this phase involved activating the FOXO3 gene, which is closely associated with longevity and slowed aging in living organisms. This gene improved the cells' ability to repair and renew themselves while resisting the gradual damage that accumulates over time and forms the biological basis of natural aging.
Once the complete genetic modification process succeeded in all four stages, the subject's physical strength increased enormously, making them seem like a completely different species compared to an ordinary human. Their expected lifespan rose to approximately three hundred and fifty years, a figure far beyond what any person in this world could achieve without the intervention of the Walt Family.
Nor did the benefits end there. Natural talent and latent potential also increased significantly, making training and the acquisition of strength far easier and faster than for a normal human.
Then came the second stage: enhanced organ implantation, which built upon the genetic foundation and elevated it even further.
The first organ involved was an additional spleen grown from the subject's own cells through a cloning process, making it perfectly compatible with the host and eliminating any risk of immune rejection.
This supplementary spleen served two primary functions simultaneously. The first was storing a large reserve of additional red blood cells, greatly increasing the body's oxygen-carrying capacity and its ability to supply muscles and organs efficiently. The second was producing immune cells equipped with modified receptors capable of instantly identifying viruses or cancerous cells and destroying them before they could reproduce and spread.
This immune enhancement alone made the modified individual nearly immune to most diseases that crippled or killed ordinary humans.
The second organ was the liver. The original liver was replaced with an enhanced version possessing regenerative abilities far beyond those of a normal liver, which was already one of the most regenerative organs in the human body.
This improved liver elevated the body's overall performance by processing toxins and harmful substances with exceptional efficiency while supporting metabolic functions far more effectively in converting food into energy, building muscle, and maintaining tissue health over long periods.
Finally, multiple fuinjutsu seals were implanted to ensure that this technology would never fall into the hands of anyone outside the family's control for any reason.
The moment the host died, internal destruction seals would activate automatically and destroy all genetic modifications and implanted organs, ensuring that any postmortem examination would reveal nothing useful that could be studied or replicated. (They would drive Orochimaru completely insane with this, hahaha.)
There were also additional contingency seals that ensured the modified individual remained entirely under the Walt Family's control. If the person ever betrayed the family or performed any action that threatened its secrets, they would not even know how they died. These seals operated in complete silence and gave no warning before activation.
Of course, Fenrik and Hoshi intended to continue improving the procedure in the future. They still saw considerable room for advancement, including the possibility of replacing and implanting new organs that were even stronger and more efficient, increasing both capability and lifespan.
The target they hoped to reach in future generations of the procedure, after conducting further research, was a lifespan exceeding the current six hundred years achieved through the combination of genetic modification and organ surgery.
Before that, however, they needed deeper research, especially concerning how to preserve brain stability over such long lifespans. The human brain accumulated experiences, memories, and information over centuries, raising serious questions about its ability to maintain mental, psychological, and cognitive stability without gradually deteriorating.
For now, however, after thoroughly verifying the results of the procedure on the first successful subject and confirming its stability, implementation would begin on every member of the Lone Wolf Squad. They would become the first generation and the initial foundation of this new path.
