Chapter 171 - Chapter 171: An Honorable End

Inside a spacious hall within the Walt Family headquarters in the Sacred Dragon Forest, Dan sat on his luxurious chair, listening attentively to what his son Leon was saying before him with obvious respect. After a few moments of deep thought, he stroked his chin, immersed in contemplation over what he had just heard.

"Very well, my boy. I will seriously consider your proposal."

Leon replied respectfully as he bowed his head slightly toward his father.

"Thank you very much, Father, for considering it."

Dan pondered for a few more moments before raising his head with a faint smile.

"No, actually, this idea of yours may truly be brilliant and highly useful. I believe that if it is implemented correctly and precisely, it will fit perfectly within the broader framework of my plan for this planet."

Then his voice became slightly more serious as he added a few necessary restrictions.

"However, I must think carefully about the proper way to carry it out. Under no circumstances will the family's private methods and techniques be used in this matter. Those secrets are absolutely forbidden to any outsider who does not carry my blood directly, regardless of the circumstances or reasons."

Leon nodded in complete understanding and agreement.

"Understood, Father. I fully understand and I will never cross that line."

Dan looked at Leon thoughtfully before shifting the subject.

"It also seems that your final battle with Hagoromo's descendants is approaching."

Leon replied enthusiastically, his voice filled with anticipation and excitement.

"Yes, Father, exactly. I have already sent them the final challenge letter for the upcoming battle and informed them that this will be the last confrontation between us."

Dan stared at him for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his face.

"It seems you've finally escaped the frustration and boredom that had been affecting your mood before."

Leon laughed loudly and somewhat awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head.

"Hahaha!"

Then he regained his composure and spoke more honestly.

"In truth, those two brave children of the Uchiha and Senju clans have inspired me somewhat over the past years through their remarkable growth and unwavering determination."

He paused briefly, recalling memories of their recent battles, then continued with a tone of admiration and respect.

"Especially because I personally watched them grow stronger and improve significantly with every battle we fought. They never once surrendered to me despite knowing the enormous gap in strength between us and despite understanding that they had virtually no chance of defeating me no matter what they did."

Dan asked curiously,

"Then why not continue this entertaining game for a few more years? They've already reached the peak of their potential strength and become far stronger than before, which should make the battles even more enjoyable for you."

Leon fell silent for a moment, considering the question carefully, before gently shaking his head.

"No, Father. On the contrary, I believe the proper time has finally come to bring our series of battles to an honorable and definitive conclusion. That would be the greatest respect and recognition I can offer them in return for all the effort they have invested over the years to improve themselves with such determination and resolve in order to challenge me with everything they have."

He paused again to gather his thoughts before continuing in a more serious and sincere tone.

"And besides, they have truly reached the highest level they can attain at this stage. To be completely honest, my own strength has increased greatly in recent years. They can no longer motivate me or push me forward as they once did. Therefore, our conflict should end in a noble and honorable manner befitting them. I will send them to the afterlife with the dignity and respect they deserve, worthy of the courage and determination they have displayed throughout all our encounters."

Dan looked at his son, evaluating his words carefully, before smiling with approval.

"Very good, my son. In the end, this is your matter, and you may handle it as you see fit according to your own convictions. However, I do have a suggestion that may help you. It could make things even better and might even align with the proposal you mentioned earlier."

There was a hint of intriguing mystery in Dan's voice regarding what he intended to propose to Leon, something that might make the outcome of the final battle more meaningful and beneficial to the greater plan.

Elsewhere, far from the Walt Family headquarters, within a large and luxurious residence belonging to the prestigious Uchiha Clan Patriarch, Hiroshi Uchiha sat alone in the quiet and beautiful courtyard of his home. He gazed deeply at the large full moon shining in the clear night sky, lost in contemplation of his thoughts and the fate awaiting him in only a few short days.

Then, while he was immersed in thought, he suddenly felt a pair of soft and gentle arms embrace him tightly from behind in a familiar and comforting manner.

Hiroshi turned slightly and spoke in a calm voice.

"Inoue, why are you still awake at this late hour?"

The beautiful young woman hugged him even tighter, tears filling her eyes as she replied.

"How do you expect me to sleep when I know what's waiting for you?"

Hiroshi gently placed his hand over hers, trying to comfort and reassure her.

"Everything will be fine. Don't worry so much."

The young woman remained silent for a moment as she tried to hold back her tears, but ultimately failed. Her embrace tightened as though she feared losing him if she let go.

"To be honest with you, Hiroshi, I hate the Uchiha Clan, even though I belong to it by blood."

Her words were harsh and shocking, yet completely sincere and reflective of her true pain. She paused briefly while tears streamed down her cheeks before continuing bitterly.

"Because of them and because of their foolish pride, the burden of sacrificing yourself falls entirely upon your shoulders, leaving me and your young son behind alone."

Hiroshi did not respond with empty reassurances because he knew they would accomplish nothing and could not ease her genuine pain. Instead, he allowed her to freely express the sorrow, anger, bitterness, and frustration within her heart.

His only response was to turn toward her and embrace her tightly.

The couple remained locked in each other's arms beneath the beautiful silver moonlight that illuminated the peaceful courtyard around them. It was a tender yet sorrowful moment, perhaps one of the last beautiful moments they would ever share together before the coming battle separated them forever.

...

I felt a little sad while writing this chapter. Leon may seem like the villain, but in truth there is no completely evil villain or completely righteous hero in this story. I am trying to make every character as realistic as possible and avoid excessive idealism.
