Dan stared at the person before him, who was still gasping for air, his body trembling with fear and shock. He spoke in a calm and neutral voice: "Very well. Now, since we have agreed on the important part, we shall move on to the details."
The man raised his head slowly, looking at the youth sitting in his luxurious chair with clearly terrified features, his eyes wide. He spoke in a hoarse, slightly broken voice: "Yes, my lord. As long as you spare my life, everything else is acceptable," he said, with the features of deep terror completely overwhelming his face.
Dan thought silently: It seems my first appearance has left a powerful impact on him. Good, that is exactly what is required for me. Fear creates obedience. And obedience built on absolute fear is what is necessary in the current situation.
Then he spoke in a clear and direct tone: "As for me... I am the person—" He paused for a moment, thinking of how to phrase the next sentence appropriately. Then he continued: "Or rather, I am the dragon. The leader of the dragons in the Forest of the Sacred Dragons." He paused again, looking directly into Ayato's eyes. "Also, I am the source of the roar you have been hearing for years. You can understand me in this way."
Ayato, bowing before him, turned visibly paler. His face became almost white. His eyes widened even further. A dragon? A real dragon? Suddenly, Ayato bowed even lower, striking his head against the ground with force—a clear thumping sound. He began to apologize in a desperate and trembling voice: "I apologize, my lord! I am so sorry for disturbing you in your sacred land! Truly, I never intended that! All—"
Before he could finish his words and successive apologies, Dan interrupted him in a firm but calm voice: "There is no need for all these apologies from you now." He looked at him with a cold gaze. "For you have already paid the price for your mistakes. Personally." He paused, then added in a final tone: "From now on, you shall be a slave—you, your family, and your entire lineage after you—to the dragons."
The man named Lord Ayato fell completely silent. Features of total helplessness and surrender were clearly visible on his face. He could do nothing. He had no choice. He spoke in a low, defeated voice: "Yes, my lord. I am your slave." Simple words. But they contained complete surrender.
Dan looked at him in silence for a moment, then spoke in a tone slightly less cold: "You should not feel too discouraged." He paused. "Even though the matter seems very bad for someone like you—someone who considers himself a prince over a region, ruling cities, villages, and warriors..." A small, cold smile appeared. "Yet, what you will gain from our service are things that are irreplaceable." He did not explain further. He left the words ambiguous, stirring curiosity.
Then Dan rose from the luxurious chair slowly, with a calm and fluid movement. He looked at Ayato, who was bowed on the ground. He spoke in a clear, commanding tone: "Exactly two days from now, I want you to prepare comprehensive and complete information for me." He began to list:
"About the situation in the region surrounding your city."
"About the situation in the world in general—as far as you know."
"About the wars currently breaking out on the continent."
"About the great powers that have appeared recently—clans, kingdoms, armies."
"About the competing warlords in the region—their names, their strength, their locations."
"Also, about the exact area you control—the cities, villages, and borders."
"Everything. In detail."
He looked at him directly. "Understood?"
Ayato nodded quickly, his head still bowed. "Yes, my lord. I will prepare everything."
Dan walked two steps toward the window, as if he were about to leave and end the meeting. But then, he stopped suddenly. He turned to the man bowed behind him. He spoke in a colder, more threatening tone: "Ah, and also..." He looked at him with slightly narrowed eyes. "I strongly warn you against playing any tricks with me. Any deception. Any betrayal." A short, charged silence followed. "You do not want to know what will happen to you if you do. And you truly do not know the scale and level of the one you are dealing with."
Then, without warning, Dan released his chakra aura. Not all of it—only a small part. But even that small part... The ground beneath his feet began to crack—deep lines spread in every direction. The entire room began to shake. The walls produced terrifying popping sounds—the wood cracking, the stones crumbling. The wooden flooring literally began to disintegrate under the massive pressure. And the atmosphere in the room became unbearably heavy, overwhelming, as if a massive weight were pressing down on everything.
Ayato—who was bowed on the ground—could not withstand it. The overwhelming aura pressed down on him with immense force. He lay completely flat on the floor, his face pressed against the cracked flooring, his body entirely flattened. His color turned yellow from absolute fear and physical pressure. He began to mutter in a choked, desperate voice: "I would not dare, my lord! I would never dare! I promise you! I swear!" His voice was trembling violently. "I am your slave from now on! Your loyal slave! I will not betray you! Never!"
The pressure continued for a few more seconds—seconds in which Ayato felt he would literally be crushed. Then, suddenly, the aura vanished completely. The pressure stopped. The air returned to normal. The room stopped shaking. But the damage remained—the cracks in the floor and walls, the crumbled wood. Clear evidence of what had just occurred.
Dan spoke in a calm voice, as if nothing had happened: "Good." He looked at the man lying on the ground, trembling. "I will visit you two days from now, at exactly the same time. Prepare all the required information."
Then, without another word, Dan vanished from his spot. No sound, no visible movement. He just vanished—as if he had never existed at all.
Ayato remained lying on the ground for many long minutes. His body was trembling. His heart was beating at a frantic speed. Cold sweat covered his entire body. Very slowly, he tried to stand. His knees were weak, barely supporting him. He looked at the destroyed room around him. The cracks, the debris, the destruction. All this... from just a chakra aura? What if he used his actual power?
He shivered again. No. He did not want to know. He would obey. He would do everything requested of him. Because the alternative... was death. Or something worse. He sat on the edge of his bed, placing his head between his hands. His life had changed completely tonight. From a warlord... to a slave. But he was alive. And he still ruled. Perhaps... perhaps that was enough. At least for the sake of survival.
