"Sister Lin—"
"Sister Lin, stop—"
There was no way the two of them could keep up with the speed of a flying mecha on foot. They had barely run out when the silver mecha disappeared without a trace.
"Damn, is Sister Lin going to die?" Shi Feng was extremely worried.
Hearing this, Feng He, who was beside him, slapped him on the shoulder. "Don't say such things."
After saying that, an idea struck Feng He when she saw a hoverboard-like vehicle two people nearby were standing on.
She grabbed Shi Feng's hand, rushed over, and taking advantage of the others' inattention, jumped onto the hoverboard and took off.
This hoverboard was easy to pilot. You just had to control the direction and accelerate.
Lin Jingjing was frantically trying to pilot the mecha. She wanted to stop, but she didn't know which button to press.
Seeing that she was about to crash into a large tree ahead, Lin Jingjing gritted her teeth. 'If I can't stop, I might as well try to fly a loop.'
With this thought, Lin Jingjing immediately placed her hands on the Controller.
She yanked back hard, and the mecha, which was about to hit the tree, immediately shot upwards.
Following this method, Lin Jingjing mastered flying up, down, left, and right, but she just couldn't slow the mecha down.
The two on the hoverboard kept searching for Lin Jingjing and finally found her above the training grounds.
Feng He quickly steered the hoverboard higher, trying to fly alongside the mecha.
Shi Feng followed her lead.
The commotion the three of them were causing attracted the attention of many people.
"Which class are they from?"
"Flying a mecha around recklessly."
Captain Li, who had been leisurely sipping some wine and chatting, saw the silver aircraft in the sky, and his eyes widened instantly.
'Isn't that silver mecha from the frontline Grade A squad!'
It was supposed to be in the mecha-wash bay. For it to appear here, flying around chaotically, could only mean one thing: one of those three little wastes was piloting it.
Thinking about their skill level, piloting a mecha so far above their grade was life-threatening!
Captain Li ground his teeth and said, "Those three wastes are the bane of my existence."
After complaining, he quickly deployed his own mecha, jumped into the cockpit, and shot upwards.
"Hey, what are you rushing up there for?" the person sitting next to him asked, confused.
Captain Li sent a video call request to Lin Jingjing, which was quickly accepted.
Once connected, Captain Li saw Lin Jingjing bleeding from her eyes, nose, and ears. 'This damn girl is about to die from spiritual power exhaustion, and she still won't disconnect!'
"Are you insane?! Disconnect from the mecha, now!" Captain Li roared.
"If you want to die, just tell me, and I guarantee I'll put a bullet in you myself!" Captain Li cursed. "Son of a bitch, you fucking brats are just here to torment me."
Lin Jingjing looked at Captain Li's thunderous expression and chuckled dryly. "Captain Li, I don't know how to disconnect."
Hearing this, Captain Li exploded in another tirade right then and there. "If you don't know how to disconnect, why the hell did you connect in the first place?"
"Are you trying to find a faster way to die?"
"No, no," Lin Jingjing shook her head. "I was just curious, that's all. I didn't expect that I wouldn't be able to stop it."
"Withdraw your spiritual power," Captain Li said, barely suppressing his rage.
But Lin Jingjing still didn't understand how. Despite Captain Li, Shi Feng, and Feng He trying to block her, Lin Jingjing's mecha still flew past the main base.
Watching the mecha fly further and further away, Feng He was so anxious she was about to cry.
"What do we do? What do we do?" Feng He asked through tears. "Is Sister Lin going to die?"
This time, it was Shi Feng's turn to lecture her. "Don't say things like that. Good people have good luck. There's no way Sister Lin will die."
"Let's hurry up and follow them."
Captain Li was already irritated, and seeing the two of them on that hoverboard, he couldn't stop himself from turning on his external speakers to yell at them.
"Are you two trying to die too?! Flying that high on a damn hoverboard, aren't you afraid of falling?!"
"I'll handle this! You two wastes get your asses back and go wash the mechas!"
"All you do is cause trouble for me day in and day out."
"I'm practically your legal guardian at this point!"
The two ignored Captain Li's words and continued to follow on their hoverboard.
Inside the mecha cockpit, Lin Jingjing's head was throbbing, her vision swam, and her heart ached terribly.
'Am I going to die again?' she couldn't help but wonder.
'I was given a second chance at life, and now I'm facing this situation again. I just can't accept it.'
'I shouldn't have been so curious. I shouldn't have touched anything.'
'I should have just stuck to washing the mecha.'
Finally, Lin Jingjing started cursing out the soldier who hadn't taken the key. "Why didn't you take the key when you brought the mecha here for a wash?! If you had, my damn hands wouldn't have been so itchy!"
"And I wouldn't be about to die right now!"
"Damn it!"
"I don't want to die!"
The frontline was just ahead. 'I'll probably be shot down as an invader.'
"Farewell, my dear friends." Lin Jingjing gave up. 'If I die, I die. I don't care anymore.'
Meanwhile, Captain Li, seeing the frontline wasn't far ahead, hurriedly opened his Star Ring and made a call to someone over there.
"He Shian, hurry and help me stop that silver mecha!"
"Quick!"
He Shian was about to ask a question, but seeing how frantic the captain was, he kept his mouth shut.
"Understood."
He then left his office, went to the training grounds, deployed his own mecha, and climbed inside before heading in Captain Li's direction.
After flying just one kilometer, he saw the silver mecha flying straight toward him.
"Quick, use your spiritual power to take control of her mecha! If you don't, she'll die in there!" Captain Li yelled again.
He Shian didn't ask any more questions. He closed his ice-blue eyes, held his breath, and focused. When he opened them again, a powerful pressure washed over the silver mecha.
Soon, his spiritual power had taken control of the entire mecha. He immediately operated it, bringing it to a halt.
The moment the silver mecha stopped, Captain Li stopped his own.
He scrambled out of his cockpit and ran over as fast as he could.
Opening the silver mecha's cockpit, he saw Lin Jingjing slumped unconscious in the seat.
The control console was covered in fresh blood. It looked like Lin Jingjing had just coughed up a large amount of it.
"Sister Lin!" The two on the hoverboard had also arrived. They flew low and jumped off as they got close.
After a quick roll on the ground, they rushed over. Seeing Lin Jingjing's deathly pale face and blood-covered body, their eyes turned red.
"Sister Lin isn't... dead, is she?" Shi Feng asked, his voice choked with sobs.
Feng He refused to accept it, covering her mouth as she spoke. "Sister Lin can't die like this. She's a survivor, tough as nails."
He Shian had also disembarked. He recognized them as the three who had delivered his meal the previous night.
His gaze shifted to Captain Li. "What happened?"
"With her level of spiritual power, it should be impossible for her to establish a spiritual link with a Grade A Mecha."
