Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: This Batch of Tea is Worth Over a Million? Da Fei's Plan

When Lu Feng heard Da Fei say he had a way to make the Qingfeng Tea sell well, he glanced at the boxes of tea before him.

He immediately spoke into his phone, "Da Fei, come to my apartment. I have exactly 200 boxes of Qingfeng Tea here that we can take to the tea house. I live in apartment building three in the Cui Long District."

"Got it, Young Master Feng!" After getting his orders, Da Fei immediately hung up.

About twenty minutes later, Lu Feng got another call from Da Fei. He went downstairs and saw Da Fei standing beside a small pickup truck, flanked by two young men.

"Young Master Feng." Da Fei greeted Lu Feng as soon as he saw him, then turned and shouted at the two young men, "What are you waiting for? Greet him!"

The two young men had been staring at Lu Feng curiously, as they'd never met him before. Hearing Da Fei, they immediately and respectfully called out, "Young Master Feng."

They had, of course, heard about this Young Master Feng. He was the cousin of their boss Brother Fei's own boss, Brother Ming. Now, Brother Ming and all his men were working for this Young Master Feng.

As for what exactly they were doing, that was naturally beyond their pay grade.

They just hadn't expected Young Master Feng to be so young.

Lu Feng nodded back at the two young men.

'My cousin has his crew—Brother Lin, Ah Pao, and Da Fei. And of course, guys like Brother Lin, Ah Pao, and Da Fei have their own underlings.'

'Even these two guys in front of me probably have their own lackeys. It's a chain that goes all the way down, probably even reaching the delinquent kids at school.'

"Let's go. The tea's upstairs," Lu Feng said, leading Da Fei and the other two men into the building.

Upon entering the apartment, Da Fei saw boxes of tea stacked high. A quick mental tally was enough to leave a look of astonishment on his face.

'Even at 5,000 yuan a box, the amount of tea here must be worth over a million, right?'

'Besides, he'd tried this Qingfeng Tea before. It was definitely a cut above teas that sold for 5,000 a box, so the price should be even higher.'

"Young Master Feng, what's the price for this Qingfeng Tea?" Da Fei asked immediately.

"Let's set the price at 7,500 a box," Lu Feng said after a moment of thought. 'I'm not being greedy. I was originally going to sell it for 5,000, but the 5,000-yuan teas at the Youcheng tea houses only have 12 infusions. This Qingfeng Tea has 16, four more, so I'll just add 2,500 yuan.'

'According to Chen Bo, even teas costing over ten thousand yuan a box were no match for this Qingfeng Tea. In a small place like this county, getting it at this price would be an absolute steal for any customer.'

"Hurry up and get the tea loaded onto the truck," Da Fei urgently ordered the two young men.

'He'd only feel at ease once this tea, worth over a million yuan, was safely back at the tea house. Only someone like Young Master Feng could be so nonchalant about leaving it all in an apartment.'

The two young men nodded hurriedly and began moving the boxes, still somewhat in awe.

After all, at their age, it was the first time they had ever seen something worth more than a million yuan with their own eyes. Because of that, even the simple task of moving tea boxes felt like they were part of something big.

Soon, all 200 boxes of tea were loaded onto the pickup. Da Fei had Lu Feng get in the passenger seat and personally drove them to the Qingfeng Tea House, leaving the two young men to squeeze into the truck bed to keep an eye on the cargo.

Once they arrived at the Qingfeng Tea House, Da Fei had the two young men carry all 200 boxes inside.

The two young men put their backs into it. After all, today they'd met Brother Fei's boss's boss, so of course they had to give it their all.

'From now on, they could go around telling people they'd followed Brother Fei to do a job for Young Master Feng.'

'Sometimes, just being able to say something like that was enough to earn them more respect among their peers.'

Lu Feng, meanwhile, entered the tea house with Da Fei. The moment he stepped inside, he was greeted by a flutter of beauties: five pretty, young women were admiring themselves in a mirror, checking their reflections in their cheongsams.

They looked to be in their early twenties, and the words "Qingfeng Tea House" were embroidered on their cheongsams.

Lu Feng realized at once that these must be the girls Da Fei had hired to serve tea, and the cheongsams were their work uniforms.

'Da Fei really works fast,' Lu Feng thought.

And while the five girls might not be drop-dead gorgeous, they were all definitely pretty. With the addition of makeup, they looked quite good.

The crucial thing was that all five had great figures, which made them look rather alluring in the cheongsams. 'No wonder my cousin said Da Fei knows a lot of women.'

The only thing was, they had tattoos of butterflies, fish, and birds on their arms, shoulders, and ankles. This took away from the classic elegance of the cheongsams, but it also added a touch of wildness, creating a strangely alluring contrast.

Of course, the most crucial factor was their age. Youth is invincible, isn't it?

This was why people said the best places for a man to find pleasure were nightclubs and tea houses.

The five women saw Da Fei and Lu Feng and immediately came over, greeting Da Fei in honeyed tones, "Brother Fei."

Da Fei, however, immediately pointed to Lu Feng. "This is Young Master Feng, your new boss. What are you waiting for? Greet him!"

The five women immediately turned their attention to Lu Feng and called out in the same sweet voices, "Young Master Feng."

It was clear from their gazes that they regarded Lu Feng with a degree of respect. After all, since they'd been hired to work at the tea house, they obviously knew that even Brother Fei was just working for him.

"Xiaoyao, go make some tea for Young Master Feng," Da Fei ordered the most attractive of the women. Then he added, "The rest of you, go outside and help move the tea boxes."

With that, he led Lu Feng to a tea table and sat down.

The girl named Xiaoyao immediately took her seat at the tea station, grabbed a packet of tea leaves, and began preparing the tea.

The other four girls went outside to help the two young men with the boxes.

Da Fei reported to Lu Feng, "Young Master Feng, I'm paying these five women according to the standard rate for Tea Masters in Youcheng: five thousand a month, plus performance bonuses and a commission on tea sales. If business is good, making eight or nine thousand a month won't be a problem. Of course, if they're really talented, they could even make tens of thousands in a month."

Lu Feng nodded. He was familiar with how this worked. 'As long as a tea girl is a smooth talker with a sweet voice, she can easily coax customers into buying tea from her.'

'She might even hook a sugar daddy, and then her salary would be the last thing on her mind.'

'Of course, even with just the base salary and bonuses, it was excellent pay for a small county like this. The key was that the work was easy.'

'It wasn't the kind of job you could find just anywhere.'

Soon, the woman named Xiaoyao finished brewing a pot of tea and poured a cup for both Lu Feng and Da Fei.

Lu Feng didn't know much about the art of tea, but he could tell one thing for sure: this Xiaoyao was not very skilled at brewing it. But since she was beautiful, her lack of skill didn't seem to matter.

'It made sense, though. If a 220-pound girl made you tea, no matter how skilled she was, it would probably just turn your stomach.'

'Men, for the most part, are forgiving. Or maybe just less hypocritical.'

'Women always say men are fickle, but that's wrong, to a certain extent. Most men's hearts never change; they spend their entire lives liking young, beautiful women.'

Soon, the two young men and four women had moved all 200 boxes inside. Then, the group went over to another tea table and started chatting and laughing while brewing their own tea.

Seeing that Brother Fei and Young Master Feng were talking business, they knew better than to get in the way.

Since Da Fei had hired all of them, the women and the two young men apparently already knew each other.

"Da Fei, let me ask you something," Lu Feng began. "You said you had an idea for how to make this Qingfeng Tea sell really well. Lay it on me."

Da Fei immediately explained, "Young Master Feng, I have a childhood friend who's a civil servant in the county's Department of Commerce. Tomorrow, the department is holding a 'County Business Decorum Symposium' and summoning all the local business owners. All the bosses in the county, big and small, will be there. Most of these guys have tea sets in their offices, so they appreciate and demand good tea far more than the average person."

"My friend's job is basically just to serve tea and water. For example, after the meeting, the county will host the bosses in the cafeteria. As a courtesy, someone has to serve them tea during the breaks."

Lu Feng's eyes lit up. 'Serving tea? This is perfect.'

'He'd never have thought of a method like this. No wonder his cousin recommended Da Fei. It's true what they say: if you want a job done right, get a specialist.'

「The next day.」

After visiting his mother in the hospital, Lu Feng received a call from Da Fei. When he stepped out of the hospital, he saw his cousin's BMW 740 parked there, with Da Fei in the passenger seat.

After Lu Feng got in, Da Fei said, "Young Master Feng, I've already spoken with my friend. We'll take a box of tea over to him now. Once the job is done, I'll just need to treat him to a meal to thank him."

As soon as Lu Feng was in, Yang Ming started the car and began driving toward the Department of Commerce building.

'His younger cousin had bought a tea house, so of course he had to keep an eye on things. When he heard what Da Fei had planned for the Qingfeng Tea today, he decided to drive over personally.'

'Even though it was Da Fei's friend they were meeting, pulling up in a BMW 740 would definitely make a different kind of impression.'

Soon, the car stopped in front of the Department of Commerce building. Da Fei made a call, and a moment later, a young man came walking out.

Da Fei immediately got out with the box of Qingfeng Tea and went to greet him. "Huang Yuan, here's the tea. I'm counting on you."

The young man, Huang Yuan, took the tea and immediately said, "Don't mention it. I still have to thank you for helping out with my dad's situation. If you hadn't stepped in, who knows how long that scoundrel would have kept harassing my family."

Da Fei smiled and nodded. "Alright, no more thanks between us. I'll treat you to dinner tonight."

"Okay," Huang Yuan agreed this time. He chatted with Da Fei for another moment before heading back into the building with the tea.

Da Fei returned to the car and gave Lu Feng an OK sign.
