Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Life Skill: Crafting Qingfeng Tea

Pleased by Lu Feng's praise, Da Fei asked, "Young Master Feng, would you like to go upstairs and see your office?"

Besides the private rooms for brewing tea and the chess and card rooms, the tea house also had two offices.

One of them naturally belonged to Da Fei, the manager, while the other was reserved for the boss, Lu Feng.

"Alright!" Lu Feng went upstairs and checked out his office. It was very spacious and had a grand atmosphere.

Inside, besides a desk, there was also a tea table. Flanked by two shelves displaying various teas and liquors, it had the distinct style of a tea house.

In the future, he could entertain guests in this office.

As he was going downstairs, another customer arrived.

Just like the others, the customer asked for Qingfeng Tea as soon as they walked in, then bought three boxes to go.

...

「That night.」

Lu Feng went to the hospital again.

Just as he arrived, the attending physician had finished his mother's check-up. The doctor smiled and said to him, "Mr. Lu, your mother's condition has basically stabilized. She can be transferred to a regular ward tomorrow."

Lu Feng's face instantly lit up with joy. "Thank you, Doctor!"

The attending physician gave a few more instructions before leaving the room.

Lu Feng immediately turned to Lin Shuang, saying happily, "Mom, you're going to get better soon."

"Mmm," Lin Shuang nodded, a trace of relief unconsciously easing onto her face.

She wasn't foolish. Even though the caregiver and doctor both told her everything was fine and not to worry, she knew that an ICU room was incredibly expensive.

She was even more aware of her family's financial situation. She had no idea how much pressure her son was under because of her illness, or how much debt he had accumulated.

He had probably borrowed money from everyone he could for her treatment.

She didn't want to worry her son, so she pretended not to know anything.

Now that she could finally leave the ICU, she resolved that once she was discharged, she would have to work twice as hard selling fruit. Otherwise, there was no telling how much more of her son's youth she would be holding back.

Lu Feng chatted with his mother for a while. After she rested, he gave a few instructions to the caregiver before leaving the hospital.

He then made a trip to the Qingfeng Tea House.

As soon as he arrived at the parking lot outside the tea house, he saw Xiaoyao seeing a customer out.

"Mr. Chu, take care."

Xiaoyao put on the sweetest smile of her life as she helped the customer place ten boxes of Qingfeng Tea into their trunk.

Only after the customer's car had driven away did she pump a fist in excitement. She had just earned another 7,500 yuan from that single sale.

Just then, she saw Lu Feng and hurried over to greet him respectfully. "Young Master Feng, I just sold another ten boxes of Qingfeng Tea."

"Mm, nice work!" Lu Feng praised with a smile.

The praise clearly pleased her.

Inside the tea house, the other four girls were just as happy and full of drive.

They had also earned a lot in commission today. After the very first customer, nearly every person they served netted them several thousand yuan in commission.

At their previous jobs, they would have only made a few thousand yuan for an entire month's work. After all, they didn't have academic qualifications, and there were many jobs they were unwilling to do or couldn't hold onto for long.

Now, they felt that selling tea was a perfect fit for them.

Seeing Lu Feng arrive, Da Fei immediately came forward to report, "Young Master Feng, we had a total of 32 customers this afternoon. They were probably all attendees of the business department's symposium. They asked for Qingfeng Tea the moment they walked in."

"And they all bought tea. Some bought a little, some bought a lot. In total, we sold 143 boxes of Qingfeng Tea. Of the 200 boxes you brought, only 57 are left."

"When they take this tea back and serve it to others, and once people find out the price, more customers are bound to come seeking it out in the next few days. The tea house needs another batch of Qingfeng Tea."

"Okay. A new batch will arrive at my apartment tomorrow; I'll let you know then." Lu Feng nodded. As he was leaving the tea house, he found the contact for the small packaging workshop on WeChat, transferred a deposit, and ordered 500 boxes directly this time.

「The next day.」

The first thing Lu Feng did after waking up was look at the game screen for *After the Apocalypse*. He used the movable camera view to observe the situation around the Qingfeng Tea Headquarters.

After confirming that the surroundings were clear, he entered the game with a thought and began to bring the Qingfeng Tea from inside the Qingfeng Tea Headquarters out of the game.

After taking the tea out, he brought the empty outer boxes back into the game.

It took him half the day. He cleared all the tea from the shelves of the Qingfeng Tea Headquarters and even took a portion from the warehouse before he finally had enough for 500 boxes.

Afterward, Lu Feng started looking around the Qingfeng Tea Shop again.

He hadn't paid attention before, but this time, while moving the tea, he noticed an office in the northwest corner, blocked by a shelf.

The sign on the office read: General Manager's Office.

Lu Feng entered the office and discovered that an entire wall was actually a built-in cabinet.

And inside this cabinet, there were even more boxes of tea.

It was still Qingfeng Tea, but the packaging was slightly different. There were two types, both with a more luxurious feel. One type was more plentiful, while the other was much rarer.

Lu Feng immediately used the game's inspection ability and saw the information for the two types of Qingfeng Tea:

[Qingfeng Tea: A tea made from a special secret formula. Limited quantity. Due to a special process, the tea quality is higher, with a shelf life of several decades. The brewed tea has special effects: Tea Fragrance +2, Sweet Aftertaste +2, Refreshing and Mind-Clearing +2]

[Qingfeng Tea: A tea made from a special secret formula. Extremely rare. Due to a special process, the tea quality is even higher, with a shelf life of several decades. The brewed tea has special effects: Tea Fragrance +3, Sweet Aftertaste +3, Refreshing and Mind-Clearing +3]

Seeing the attributes of the two types of tea, Lu Feng finally understood. These were two types of tea that were a higher grade than the regular Qingfeng Tea.

The +1 Qingfeng Tea was already delicious, and it still sold for 7,500 a box with so many buyers.

'Then what about this +2 and +3 tea?'

"Huh?" As Lu Feng was examining the two types of tea, he discovered a special tea plaque in a corner of the cabinet. It was covered in densely carved characters.

[This is a special Life Skill Plaque. It seems to be engraved with the crafting skill for ordinary Qingfeng Tea. Do you wish to learn this skill?]

"???" Lu Feng was stunned.

'He had just been wondering about the production method for Qingfeng Tea, and now it had just fallen into his lap? A tea company would never display its secret formula like this, but this was a game world. In the game, characters could learn skills, but they had to find various skill plaques scattered across the map. Besides combat skills like fighting and firearms, there were also all sorts of useful and useless life skills. Making Qingfeng Tea would probably be considered one of the useless life skills in the game. But in the real world, it was absolutely useful. After all, a single box of ordinary Qingfeng Tea could sell for 7,500 in reality.'

Lu Feng decisively chose to learn it. If he could use this skill to produce Qingfeng Tea in the real world, he could open his own tea factory.

Then, no matter what items of unknown origin he brought out of the game world to sell in the future, he would have a much better cover for his source of income.

The next moment, something astonishing happened. The skill plaque instantly dissolved into motes of light that surged into his body. At the same time, a stream of information flowed into his mind, engraving itself there as an unforgettable memory.

That information was precisely how to produce ordinary Qingfeng Tea.
