"What happened?" Shen Xiatang thought as she materialized in an unfamiliar courtyard.
"Where is Ye Shin Ye?" Shen Xiatang thought as she tried to leave only to hit an invisible wall.
"What's happening?" Shen Xiatang thought as she tapped an invisible wall before her.
"The star launched itself at me." Shen Xiatang thought as she recalled what happened.
"And I fused with it?" Shen Xiatang thought in confusion.
In her confusion, two women close in age with one wearing a soft blue hanfu and the other wearing a green began having a heated conversation beside her and the information about them flooded into her mind instantly.
The tall woman wearing a soft blue hanfu and a beautiful pearl jade hairpin on her hair was Chen Wenjin, the first daughter of a rich landowning family and the second one smaller in size was Chen Jinyu, Chen Wenjin's cousin from a branch part of the family.
Holding her head because she didn't understand what was happening, Shen Xiatang didn't even have time to think as the conversation between the two ladies filtered into her mind.
"Why are you overly close to my future husband?" Chen Wenjin asked Chen Jinyu.
"Sister, I don't get what you mean." Chen Jinyu said I'm a pitiful voice.
"You always act like this!" the first woman screamed.
"You always act like you don't understand what you're doing wrong when you invite yourself to Liu Tiancheng's residence without me and have private conversations with him that I am not privy to!" Chen Wenjin said in anger.
"Sister, Jinyu didn't mean to make sister feel bad." Chen Jinyu said in a soft tone.
"Brother Liu Tiancheng is just so kind and understanding that Jinyu feels safe when talking -" Chen Jinyu said and Chen Wenjin snapped.
"He is my future husband!" Chen Wenjin stressed each word.
"Hanging around him the way you do is improper and unbecoming." Chen Wenjin said in frustration but Chen Jinyu suddenly tripped over air and fell to the ground.
"There it is." Shen Xiatang muttered in an unimpressed tone at the same time Chen Wenjin thought "Why did she suddenly fall?"
"Here lies another prodigy from the great Shen Wan Ran." Shen Xiatang said with a sneer.
Ignoring the bizarre act that Chen Jinyu just committed, Chen Wenjin reached out her hand to help Chen Jinyu up before a loud voice said "Stop right there!" and Chen Wenjin looked up to see her future husband rushing forward.
"Why is he here?" Chen Wenjin thought as her fiance rushed forward.
"Why didn't he inform me that he was stopping by?." Chen Wenjin thought as her future husband scooped up Chen Jinyu who had started crying.
"Tears?" Chen Wenjin thought in confusion as she stared at the once dry face of her little cousin.
"Brother Liu Tiancheng, Sister didn't mean to push me, she was just venting out her frustration." Chen Jinyu said as tears dripped from her cheeks.
"I didn't push you." Chen Wenjin said immediately but Liu Tiancheng yelled her name in anger.
"Chen Wenjin! When did you become this cold and ruthless?!" Liu Tiancheng asked and Chen Wenjin wondered if she was having a bad dream.
"Ruthless?" Chen Wenjin asked in confusion.
"I have never been ruthless, all I asked was for her to-" Chen Wenjin said before she was swiftly cut off by Chen Jinyu.
"All sister wanted me to do was to stay away from you." Chen Jinyu said as she sniffled.
"Sister called me a vulgar woman who ruins people's lives by clinging onto their future husbands." Chen Jinyu said as she began to cry loudly.
"I didn't," Chen Wenjin stuttered at her cousin's display.
"I didn't call her vulgar. All I asked was for her to stop visiting you without me and-" Chen Wenjin said and Liu Tiancheng yelled at her again.
"I have told you countless times that Chen Jinyu visiting me is nothing. She is your cousin and therefore a future family member of mine there is no cause for you to be jealous!" Liu Tiancheng said in a rebuking manner.
"No cause for me to be jealous?" Chen Wenjin asked incredulously.
"Do you hear what people are saying about me out there because I have tried my best to be understanding?" Chen Wenjin asked with a delirious smile.
"People mock me for being slow witted, unintelligent and unkind for acting as a road block between you two." Chen Wenjin said, stressing each word.
"So what?" Liu Tiancheng asked Chen Wenjin.
"Rumors are just rumors." Liu Tiancheng said in such a flippant tone that even Shen Xiatang was left speechless.
"It doesn't give you the right to harm Chen Jinyu." Liu Tiancheng said in a rebuking tone.
"What?" Chen Wenjin asked incredulously.
"Rumors are just rumors?" Chen Wenjin asked not believing what she was hearing.
"Make sure this doesn't happen again or you can forget the engagement between us!" Liu Tiancheng said as he went to walk away but Chen Wenjin grabbed onto his sleeve.
"Forget the engagement?" Chen Wenjin asked in fear.
"Chen Wenjin has been loyal to you and only you. Everyone in Long Chen knows this!" Chen Wenjin said in a pleading tone but Liu Tiancheng pushed her away and walked away with Chen Jinyu who smirked at her discretely.
"Impossible!" Chen Wenjin said whilst shaking her head.
"I refuse to believe that our engagement can be annulled so easily." Chen Wenjin said as she gripped the skirt of her hanfu.
"Young Miss." her personal maid Xiao Mei said as she rushed to stand by her young Miss's side.
"Prepare a carriage for a trading house." Chen Wenjin ordered Xiao Mie.
"We need to buy gifts for my future father and mother in law." Chen Wenjin said and Xiao Mei nodded.
