[Should I go ahead and just get everything else and fuse them? Such as the techniques, abilities, skills, spells, and more?] The system asked.
"Yeah, go ahead, but in case there would be some limitation, have copies of their former selves remain," I said softly. No point in losing the originals if the fused versions came with restrictions I didn't expect.
[Understood… just in case, I shall give you the fusion of all defense skills, Omnipotent Shield, first.] The system said.
[Omnipotent Shield — This is the ultimate defensive technique, a shield that is unbreakable and unstoppable. To give you a glimpse of this shield's capability, this is what went into its creation:
Yin-Yang Shield- diverts most of the attack's strength and even reverses its polarity, turning it from a destructive nature to a power of healing.
Wuji Shield- using the characteristic of infinity to swallow the attack. After all, the attack has to pass through Infinite before reaching you.
Distance Shield- Divide the distances between you and a target, making sure nothing can ever reach you, as no matter how many times you divide a number, you can never reach zero.
Time Acceleration Shield- accelerates the attack's time, making its potency weaker
Death Shield- The attack will die before reaching its destination.
Life Shield- The attack will change into Life Energy that heals you as it passes through that layer.
Karma Shield- connects to someone using karma to help them bear the attack
Luck Shield- ensures the attack is not successful or weakened as much as possible
Destiny and Fate Shield- blesses the caster with the fate and destiny to survive an attack
Freedom Shield- Blesses the caster with freedom from death, injuries, and attacks
Infinite Layer World- Creates infinite layers of worlds as a defence
Deception of Fate- Deceives fate
Armament Haki — Form an invisible armor around your body, or something you are holding, out of your spirit. The stronger your spirit, the stronger the armor. This armor can nullify abilities.
Reflective Shield — Send back the attack at the attacker with twice the power.
Nullification Shield — Nullify the power behind any attack launched at the user.
Backlash Shield — Any attack that hits this shield shall cause the attacker to face a backlash. A fist that hits this shield shall become broken. Any ability that comes into contact with this shield shall become unusable.
Skill Lock Shield — Lock the ability that hits this shield, making the attacker unable to use it again.
Balance Shield — Everything is balanced; it's not fair when you are attacked. To make things balanced, the attacker shall suffer all the damage instead of you.
Adapting Shield — A shield that adapts to what it faces, changing itself to best counter the target.
All of these skills and more have been fused, birthing Omnipotent Shield, the strongest shield. When mastered, it has an auto defense that can't be bypassed by any means.]
"That's pretty overpowered…" I said, my lips twitching as I processed what had just been handed to me.
This wasn't just strong—it was absurdly, unreasonably overpowered. But there was a catch, and it hit me almost as fast as the excitement did. I couldn't actually use Omnipotent Shield. Even with Supreme Talent, instant mastery only covered the basics, and a technique of this level was far beyond what "basics" could handle.
I could, however, use the unfused versions of the individual shields, though each one cost a massive amount of energy just to activate for a few seconds.
The system went on from there, giving me one thing after another without pause. Storage tools that were the fusion of every storage tool in existence. Movement techniques that were the fusion of every movement technique ever conceived. Attack arts, sensory skills, concealment methods—everything was fused into its ultimate form and dropped into my lap like it was nothing.
Overpowered, right? Not even close. Not in practice, anyway. Every single one of these items and techniques required energy to use, or needed me to channel their power directly through my body. And I was far too weak for that. Trying to channel even a fraction of that kind of power at my current level would kill me on the spot, plain and simple.
Take Venuzdonoa, for example. On paper, it was one of the most overpowered weapons in existence—a sword that could destroy anything, deny any logic, and reject any rule. But I couldn't even hold the damn thing. The moment I tried, it would drain me dry before I could so much as lift the blade off the ground.
That was the cruel irony of my situation. I had items and techniques capable of erasing realities, shattering multiverses, and rewriting the laws of existence itself… but all of it was far too powerful for the body holding it. The fact that I was this overpowered on paper was exactly what nerfed me in reality. Isn't it beautiful?
[You have gained all unique physiques. You have gained the Omnipotent Physique, but it's only partly awakened. About 0.00…0001%.] The system said, and my lips twitched at the endless row of zeroes sitting before that lonely one at the end. It was almost insulting.
And yet, even at that impossibly small fraction of its full potential, I could already feel the difference in my body—a sturdiness that hadn't been there before, a sense that my flesh and bones were no longer as fragile as they used to be. 'How powerful is this physique at full awakening if this sliver already feels like this...?'
[I have created a new cultivation system for you. To make things easier, every realm for you would have more levels than the normal person. For example, Martial Disciple has 12 levels. But for you, it has 144 levels.] The system said, and I frowned at that immediately.
'What are you talking about...? Isn't there only 7 levels in Martial Disciple?' I asked with a frown.
[No. The truth is that there are 12 levels, but such information is something your family keeps secret to prevent the common people from knowing.] The system said, and I clicked my tongue in irritation. They never told me about this… then again, the royal family had never valued me for anything beyond what I could do for their wallets.
Be it in this life or the last, I had always had a unique talent for building and running a business. I could sense an opportunity the moment it appeared, and I knew exactly how to seize it before anyone else even realized it was there.
Because of that, I had been able to expand the royal family's network by a significant margin over the years, and in return, I was handed a number of businesses to oversee and manage on their behalf.
But I didn't stop there. I went on to start my own thing, separate from the family's influence entirely. The company I built did a few main things: it launched music, movies, TV shows, and all sorts of entertainment.
I had noticed early on that this world was severely lacking in creative spirit compared to my past life—the stories were bland, the music uninspired. So I helped them out by bringing work from my previous life into this one, adapting and releasing them under my company's name.
Was I worried about the family coming after me for building something outside their control? No, because I had been funding my twin sister for years—the next person in line for the throne. Other than that, I had a few backers.
With all the money flowing in from me, she, of course, went all out to make sure my life was protected at all times. She had eyes and ears on me around the clock, which was both a comfort and a curse… and as expected, before I even made it back home, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered lazily, already knowing who it was from the caller ID.
"Why did your health reading suddenly report that you were heavily injured? Why were you not equipped with the items I had crafted for you?" A cold and emotionless voice came through the speaker, each word clipped and measured in a way that told me she was already past the point of being simply annoyed.
"Don't worry, it was nothing big, just a girl who got angry or something. What's more important is, how are you doing? It's been some time since we last spoke." I said with a smile, steering the conversation away from anything that would make her angrier.
"Like I said last time, I will cut that thing off." She said coldly.
"Don't be like that. How would I see you make those faces? I still recall those cries you made." I said playfully.
"Ethan!" She snapped, her voice cracking through the phone like a whip. But I just laughed,
"You seem to have forgotten my wrath… I will be there in 3 days." She said coldly, and the line went dead before I could even respond. My smile vanished. My face went completely blank as the weight of those words settled over me like a death sentence.
[You seem to enjoy putting yourself in a position to be killed… should I take it that you enjoy that?] The system asked.
"Shut up… fuck, I can't go through that again." I said, genuine horror bleeding into my voice as the memories came flooding back. That woman had tied me down last time. The feeling of being right at the edge—every muscle in your body tensed, every nerve screaming for release—only for her to stop at the very last second, pulling you back from the cliff and leaving you stranded there, twitching and desperate. She had done that over and over and over again, not out of passion, but as actual torture.
It all started because she had wanted to kill off all worldly desires and focus purely on cultivation. To do that, she spent time experiencing every worldly desire before she came to a stop at lust, which meant she needed to have sex.
At first, she didn't want to have sex and simply touch herself… but she had a wonderful twin brother who popped up, making her question if that was enough to experience lust fully. So, he had to have sex…. And who was better suited for the job than me, the man who was always sleeping around to the point that the entire world knew my reputation?
A master in bed who could make a woman climax so hard she'd faint from the sheer intensity of the pleasure.
