That's when I felt it.
A stare.
I turned slightly and saw Kookie across the aisle. He wasn't laughing. He wasn't talking.
He was just looking at us.
The moment our eyes met, he looked away.
But the tension stayed.
I was feeling really nervous when a loud voice broke the silence between me and my thoughts. It was Mrs. Lee's voice, giving instructions through a loudspeaker.
Mrs. Lee: Attention students!! We will be reaching our destination in 10 minutes, so I want all of you to pack your stuff and make sure there's nothing left behind on the bus.
Everyone started packing up.
While packing, Y/N got shivers remembering Kookie's weird stare.
Just then, Tae noticed Y/N looking scared.
Tae: What's the matter Y/N? You look scared.
Y/N: Uhmm... I-it's nothing.
Tae: C'mon, stop acting so childish and tell me what's wrong.
Y/N: Kookie.
Tae: Kookie what??
Y/N: I saw him giving me a weird stare, which made me feel uncomfortable.
Tae: (giggles) Ohh, that's his habit. He just stares at random people for no reason. He has no bad intentions.
Y/N: You sure about that??
Tae: Ya ya, chill out.
Y/N: Oh ok. (Y/N finally chills out as Tae comforts her.)
(They're all packed up and start talking about their room arrangements.)
Tae: By the way, do you think we'll be paired together for the rooms?
(Lilly screams from the back): Of course, because even Mrs. Lee knows y'all are lovey-doveys. (whole bus laughing)
Y/N: Shut up, Lily.
(Lilly giggles.)
Y/N: I don't think so, because Minho told me we'll be paired roll number-wise.
Tae: Who'll I be paired with then?
Y/N: Your roll number is 38, right?
Tae: Mhmm.
Y/N: You're with Minho then.
Tae: Shit, don't you remember that fight we had in 7th grade?
Y/N: (smirking) Do you remember when we became best friends?
Tae: (nervous) Ummmm....
Y/N: Then why the hell am I supposed to remember when you two had a fig—
(Someone interrupts your talking.)
Mrs. Lee: Ahmm Ahmm..
Do you guys want to stay on the bus? Everyone already left.
(Y'all look around the bus and see it's empty.)
Y/N: Where's Lilly?
Mrs. Lee: She wasn't talking and was attentive, so she already left. C'mon, y'all, now.
(You two just laugh nervously.)
