Chapter 5 - Mastery begins

The first light of dawn spilled across the primeval Forest on Earth, cutting through thick morning mist and igniting the towering trees with gold. Moss clung to trunks, roots twisted across the forest floor like serpents, and ferns unfurled like delicate green fans. Every leaf, every rustle, every subtle shift in light carried a faint hum—the pulse of Terra Vitalis interwoven with Solis Vitae, the life sun energy of the planet. The forest was alive, aware, and patient, as though it had been waiting for him.

Inside a house that had grown naturally from the forest itself, Selarion Aetherion trained. Sweat slid down his face as he swung his sword in precise arcs, each strike cutting through the still morning air. His chest rose and fell rapidly, muscles taut from exertion, as he completed the last set of swings. His body burned with fatigue, but his mind remained razor-sharp.

"Selarion Aetherion, your preliminary exercises are complete. A new mission is now available," the Celestium Aetherion System announced, calm and precise.

Golden letters shimmered into the air before him:

Selarion's chest rose and fell as he absorbed the words. "So this is where I truly begin," he thought. He accessed the System Shop interface in midair and purchased the Basic Sword Training Techniques. Knowledge flowed into him, subtle, almost imperceptible, as his muscles and mind adjusted.

The door opened suddenly, sunlight catching Lysera's hair, turning it into a halo of molten gold. Her eyes widened as she saw Selarion, chest rising and falling, sword in hand, a faint glow of energy pulsing from him.

"Good morning," she said softly. "Did you sleep well?"

Selarion smiled, warmth radiating in his chest. "I slept well… thinking about your beautiful face."

Her blush deepened as he stepped closer. He brushed a strand of hair from her face and he leaned in, lips meeting hers. At first, the kiss was soft, testing—like two streams of energy cautiously flowing together. Then urgency surged. He explored her lips, her warmth, the soft pressure of her hands on his shoulders. Their tongues met, tracing, tasting, blending in a fluid exchange. A thin bridge of saliva connected them.

Every heartbeat, every breath, every subtle shift in the forest was magnified. Sunlight glinted off the dew-laden leaves outside, and the primeval Forest seemed to hum in rhythm with their connection. Time stretched, suspended in that intimate moment.

Finally, they parted, foreheads pressed together, breaths heavy, hearts racing. But as Lysera's eyes were wide with yearning but then she snapped back to then she remembered why she was here and then she asks"What… type of energy do you use?" Lysera asked softly.

"Solis Vitae," Selarion replied, exhaling. "The life sun energy of this solar system. Planetary energy… I can access all of it hthat's here on Earth."

Her eyes widened. "More than one planet has life? A… solar system?"

Selarion smiled, sheepishly. "I… I woke up staring at your face, Lysera. I have no memory before that."

Her face flushed crimson. She looked down briefly, then regained composure. "Eat breakfast," she said softly. "Then continue your training. And you should also go hunt and explore in the the forest, training has limited results it's better you experience battle first hand and there's a village northeast here known as Aetherwyn village that you can visit when ready."

She left, her presence lingering like sunlight in the room. Selarion exhaled. The pulse of Solis Vitae and the forest energy merged, steadying him. The Primeval Forest outside seemed alive, observing, approving.

Selarion turned back to the system. "Show me the mission objectives."

"Displaying now," it replied. Floating letters appeared:

He felt a thrill of anticipation. The Primeval Forest seemed to lean closer, every leaf and root vibrating with life energy.

He ran to the kitchen, devouring bread, milk, and porridge, each bite fueling his body and aligning him with the energies around him. Stepping outside, the forest stretched endlessly, alive, breathing, testing him at every step.

For the next hours, Selarion trained tirelessly. Every sword swing resonated with the Solis Vitae, every step synchronized with the forest's pulse. Mist curled around him, roots twisted beneath his feet, and distant creatures watched silently. He ran, performed his exercises, mastered each basic sword technique, and felt his body and mind growing stronger.

The forest tested him with subtle obstacles—fallen branches, uneven ground, hidden roots—but he moved with precision, energy flowing seamlessly through him. Sweat drenched him, muscles screamed, yet his resolve only sharpened. The Primeval Forest seemed to guide him, responding to his focus, subtly aiding or challenging him as he moved.

Once he completed his training, the system issued new missions:

Selarion exhaled deeply. The Primeval Forest hummed around him—the wind, the distant roars, the shift of leaves. Everything was alive, attuned to him, waiting to challenge, to teach, to guide.

He flexed his fingers around his sword hilt. "Very well," he said aloud, voice steady with determination. "I will master the sword. I will grow stronger. I will face whatever comes."

With that, he set off, stepping into the primeval Forest on Earth. Mist drifted at his feet, sunlight streaked through the canopy, and the path ahead was uncertain, untamed, and alive. Every breath, every step, every heartbeat was a lesson. And Selarion Aetherion—God of Elarion in the making—was ready to face them all.
