"It's like an IV drip or something."
Ashido and Todoroki looked convinced. And Sato, apparently, with an easy to understand example.
"Moreover, following that logic, perhaps... hey Fumiko. Using your Quirk, for example... could you also restore someone without them consuming their own stamina?"
"Oh, correct. Good observation... wait, ah, Midoriya, you're back?"
Looking towards where the question came from, Midoriya was standing there, having returned at some point.
After the previous match, he had been carried away by the emergency hanso robots... so Recovery Girl's healing must be finished already. Good.
...Wait, huh? His arm is in a sling? Wasn't it healed?
"Uh, Deku... your arm, the injury, couldn't it be healed?"
Ochaco, who had just noticed and seemed to have the same question, asked.
"Ah, no, this is because of my stamina issue... that's right, Fumiko."
"Hmm? Ah... yes, my 'energy' transfer is the same as giving the very energy, or stamina? Calories? needed for healing itself, so the other person's stamina doesn't decrease. I suppose it's the opposite of Recovery Girl's healing."
U.A. High School's school nurse, the eternally youthful heroine Recovery Girl (a slight misnomer), her 'Quirk' is a super enhancement of healing ability.
As the name suggests, it activates the injured person's own healing power to mend wounds in an instant... but healing uses the injured person's own stamina. So, they become extremely tired simultaneously with being healed... or so I've heard. I've never been healed by her, so I don't know.
Therefore, it can't be used unless the injured person has sufficient stamina to spare. In the worst case, healing too much when there isn't enough stamina can 'actually cause death.'
Conversely, healing or stamina replenishment through my 'Energy Transfer' involves me directly supplying stamina, so it doesn't use the other person's stamina. However, since it only boosts their own inherent healing power to some extent... while fatigue is another matter, the healing of injuries doesn't progress dramatically. It progresses bit by bit.
"...Wait, ah, Midoriya, could it be that you didn't have enough stamina to be healed all at once?"
"Ah, yeah... I got injured during the physical fitness test yesterday too, so I was healed then as well... and on top of that, I was exhausted after training, so I was told I didn't have enough stamina. Even so, it seems I had much more stamina left than expected, so they gave me first aid to at least allow me to walk. After that, they said I'll have to heal gradually over the next few days."
"Hoh..."
You had much more stamina left than expected, huh.
Hehehe... that's good. It seems yesterday's cafe au lait came in handy right away, Midoriya.
Fuhihi... oh no, my face... it's going to break into a grin. Hold on, my facial muscles... ah, right.
"That's right, in that case... Midoriya, come over here for a bit."
"Huh? Okay..."
Midoriya walked over briskly.
Right in front of him, I took off my gakuran with a rustle, handed it to Ojiro saying 'hold this for a bit.'
"Huh? Wait... Fumiko? What are you..."
Puff~
"...!?"
I just pulled Midoriya's small body (compared to mine, that is) into a hug.
Because of the height difference... his face was pressed against, or rather, buried in my chest.
"Mm, mmph...!? Wa, wait... wa wa wait!? Uh, Fumiko!? My, chest, touching... more like, I can't breathe..."
I almost wanted to retort 'I'm putting it there on purpose,' but I held back, held back.
"Ahh, ahh, stop struggling, Midoriya. It tickles, so stay still."
His face bright red, he flailed about, but I could feel his kindness in the way he skillfully moved so as not to hurt me. So cute... Midoriya was, but if you looked closely, you could see... his complexion was steadily improving. Just like with Ojiro earlier, color was returning to his body, and his depleted stamina was being replenished. His complexion is... hard to tell because it's red, but it's really good, right?
Also, since he's wriggling, I can feel his hair too... it really is ticklish.
...He's a bit sweaty. Well, it's right after exercise, so that's natural. But... I don't mind it.
...Wait? Oh no... that means I am too...
"Ah, sorry Midoriya, I might be a bit sweaty since it's right after exercise, but bear with it."
(I don't mind that at all, and rather, being told that makes me conscious of it! More like, that, it's the same nice smell as yesterday...!) - Midoriya.
Midoriya eventually stopped resisting and started twitching slightly, and as the whole class watched in stunned silence... after holding him tightly for a good 30 seconds, I released him.
...Phew, I enjoyed that.
I released Midoriya, who was bright red and unsteady on his feet.
"Ha, hauu..."
"De, Deku, are you okay!? Are you breathing!? More like, your face is red!"
"Well, if something like that happens to you, of course you'd turn red..."
"Midoriyaaa... I'm jealous...!"
"I get how you feel, but that's scary, Mineta... stop those tears of blood."
"Fumiko! Th, that was just too indecent, no matter how you look at it! You're a young lady, so you should have more modesty! What was that about, suddenly doing something like..."
"Nah, I heard Midoriya didn't have enough stamina to complete his healing, so I thought I'd transfer some energy to him while also demonstrating. My 'Transfer,' you see, the larger the area of contact, the more energy I can transfer at once. I could have just held hands like I did with Ojiro, but I thought that would take too long."
"...Ah, it's true. Somehow... wow, my strength is back... more like, it's overflowing, maybe."
Somehow regaining his normal thinking ability, Midoriya was surprised by the changes in his own body.
"You should go to the nurse's office again after class. With that much, you probably can be healed all at once."
"Ah, yeah, thank you Fumiko... but, perhaps a slightly different method would have been better..."
But perhaps he remembered it again, as Midoriya's face turned red once more.
"A slightly different method, huh... there are others, but that one is definitely something I'd consider dangerous too..."
"Dangerous!? More than this!?"
Our classmates exclaimed in shock.
Amid the commotion, except for some (as in Todoroki), there was one guy who became oddly energetic.
"Ahh, I'm so tired! I'm tired even though it's not my turn yet, I might not be able to perform adequately in the mock battle like this, ahh what should I do!"
"Damn, I, I haven't eaten anything since this morning either... I've got no stamina left, damn it...! Someone, someone help me...!"
Kaminari, muttering while looking in the completely wrong direction, and Mineta, crouched down looking pained while saying such things. Mineta's acting was unnecessarily convincing.
And the cold stares from the girls directed at those two.
"Those idiots..."
"Their intentions are obvious."
"Disgusting."
"Mi, Mineta, if you're that hungry, I have some gummy candy I got from Recovery Girl, do you want it?"
