Chapter 1 - Withered Sprout

"Monster alert! According to the latest news, a monster has appeared in the vicinity of M-City! The Hero Association has currently dispatched heroes to handle it! M-City residents, please stay at home and do not go out..."

"It's finally here!"

On the streets of M-City, countless people rushed toward the nearby shelters upon hearing the alarm, except for one man wearing a black cap that tightly concealed his face, who headed in the opposite direction.

"The alert didn't mention the monster's threat level, so it shouldn't be high. Perhaps this time I really can..."

King clenched his hands and quickened his pace. It had been two years since he had transmigrated into the world of One Punch Man. Regrettably, as an S-Class Hero, he possessed absolutely no combat power.

Enjoying honors that did not belong to him every day, King deeply felt the original King's desire for power. Thus, he trained desperately, even trying Saitama's training method, but unfortunately, in the end, he didn't go bald, nor did he become stronger.

'Damn it, I transmigrated after getting electrocuted while playing a mobile game. Couldn't you at least give me a system?'

King grumbled.

A moment later, he finally found the monster's tracks, but three people had already beaten him to it.

"Who are these three?" King's eyes lit up.

As a fanatical fan of One Punch Man, he was naturally no stranger to the three people before him.

Wearing red clothes all over, with a black eye mask, and smiley face emblems on his chest and waist, yet the person himself remained expressionless.

A-Class Rank 27, Smile Man.

The remaining two were dressed exactly like Smile Man but their weapons were different: B-Class Rank 69, Crying Man, and C-Class Rank 255, Angry Man.

"The Hero Association actually sent one A-Class, one B-Class, and one C-Class to handle this incident, so the monster's threat level..." King frowned.

The Hero Association generally dispatched nearby heroes based on the monster's threat level. Monster threat levels were roughly divided into five categories.

Wolf: Usually humanoid monsters, accompanied by minor incidents. Generally, they can only cause harm to a single human or a few people, but the harm is not significant. Usually handled by C-Class heroes, or even solved by ordinary people on their own.

Tiger: A crisis that causes significant casualties. Generally difficult for B-Class and C-Class Heroes to control, but can still be easily handled when heroes cooperate.

Demon: A crisis that can cause a city's functions to stop or be destroyed. Demon-level monsters are no longer targets for ordinary heroes to handle and are generally assigned to A-Class or S-Class Heroes. They are usually overlords in their own right, possessing the ability to take on multiple A-Class heroes.

Dragon: A crisis that may cause several cities to be destroyed. Dragon-level monsters are generally entities that have been active for many years and cannot be eliminated. They are usually huge in size or have wide-range attack capabilities. They require S-Class Heroes to suppress them jointly while minimizing civilian casualties as much as possible.

God: A crisis that may lead to the extinction of humanity. Monsters of this level cannot be defined by conventional rules. They may no longer be confined to Earth organisms, or even biological at all. It requires all S-Class Heroes to be dispatched.

"Brothers, why did you come too? This guy is only Tiger-level." Angry Man looked at Smile Man with some confusion.

A mere Tiger-level monster was something he could handle easily by himself.

"We just finished subduing a Demon-level monster and stopped by to take a look after receiving the news."

"You can handle this guy by yourself, but it is Wolf-level after all, so don't be careless."

Smile Man and Crying Man had no intention of intervening, leaving the battlefield to Angry Man, while the monster opposite them was already trembling in fear.

"Please, spare me..."

The monster looked like a bean sprout, and at this moment, it wore a terrified expression on its face.

Withered Sprout, Disaster Level: Tiger.

'Oh no, it's him!'

Hiding in the distance, King felt his heart skip a beat upon seeing the monster. He remembered that in the original series, this guy's level was...

"In order to catch up to my brothers as soon as possible, I will work hard! Let me handle this one myself!"

"Go! Spinning Top Charge!"

Whoosh!

The spinning top in Angry Man's hand shot toward Withered Sprout.

"Ahhh!"

A terrifying chill struck, and Angry Man was instantly frozen in place.

Sensing the impending danger, Smile Man and Crying Man hurriedly dodged aside.

Boom!

Smile Man swung his hammer, shattering the incoming ice, his expression one of shock.

"The intelligence is wrong, it's likely Dragon-level!"

Whoosh!

Just as Smile Man finished speaking, an extremely strong chill froze both of them in place, and they gradually lost consciousness.

"Gulp!"

Watching the three heroes get defeated in an instant, King's legs couldn't help but tremble. He had originally thought that after two years of training, he could bravely face monsters, but when it truly came to this moment, he still couldn't help but be afraid, his heart beating violently.

Thump, thump, thump!

A roaring sound rang out, quickly attracting Withered Sprout's attention.

"Hmm? Are there other heroes? Please, don't kill me!"

Withered Sprout wore a playful smile on his face as he walked toward King's hiding spot.

'Damn it, this guy is Dragon-level! What do I do? What should I do? Should I run...'

Cold sweat poured down King's body. Subconsciously, he wanted to run away, but his legs wouldn't listen to him.

'Damn it, I'll fight him!'

Tap... Tap...

Just as King made up his mind to face the Dragon-level monster head-on, footsteps sounded from the distance.

"Hey! You did this, right? Freezing the whole area around here, making it so I can't ride my bike and I'm going to miss the sale!"

A bald man in a cape.

Seeing the person arrive, King felt relieved.

"You've got the wrong guy, I'm just a passing monster, please spare my life."

Withered Sprout wore a fearful expression, while Saitama looked around in confusion. "Then who did this?"

"Freeze!"

Boom!

Saitama easily shattered the ice.

Withered Sprout opened his mouth wide in shock.

"You froze my sweet potato!" Saitama's expression was somewhat dissatisfied.

Withered Sprout dared not be careless any longer, and countless ice attacks came flying.

"Freeze! Freeze! Freeze!"

"Did you not hear me talking to you?"

Boom!

Saitama threw a punch, and Withered Sprout was instantly broken in two, lying on the ground.

'As expected of Saitama, it's just like in the original series.'

After Saitama left, King slowly walked in front of Withered Sprout, unable to help but lament when he would be as strong as Saitama.

However, what he didn't notice was that the three ice blocks behind him had already begun to crack.

"Please, spare me..."

"Holy crap! Screw you!"

King was startled by the sudden voice and kicked Withered Sprout, which had his last breath left, flying away. His hat also fell off, revealing three terrifying scars on his face.

"You... you are King-san?"

Smile Man's excited voice came from behind.

Before King could explain, a notification sound rang in his mind.
