[Sports Festival Stadium - Class 1-A Seats - Toru's POV]
Toru—Now wearing her gym outfit—groaned as she entered the section prepared for her class while carrying a certain spiky object, at the sound of her invisible complaints the rest of the class glanced back to look at her.
"Hagakure! Can you see me?"
...
"Let me help you with that!"
"T-Thanks, Kirishima..."
Kirishima grabbed Metal's head by the spikes allowing Toru to stand straight as she let out a sigh of relief.
"Wow, you're heavier than I thought, did you really carry him all the way here, Hagakure?"
"Yes, and now my arms are sore."
"That's so manly!"
'Don't call a girl manly!'
Toru chose to keep her thoughts to herself in favor of sitting on the empty spot at Uraraka's left. Seeing her decision, Kirishima dropped the blue head on the plush chair, causing the spikes at the back to dig into the cushioned backrest.
"We gotcha, Sero, help me out a little!"
...
...
...
Snap.
"Nuh uh, the deal had nothing to do with future embarrassing pictures."
A sound akin to static came from the blue metallic head now duct-taped to the top of the backrest. Kirishima and Sero chuckled while returning to their seats a few rows back, feeling completely satisfied with their handiwork.
"Can we please stop giving him reasons to hate humanity?"
"Chillax, Jiro! Pointy is not that mean!"
"He killed Kaminari."
"I'm right here!"
...
Uraraka turned her head to glance at the floating uniform beside her before speaking up in an excited tone.
"I really liked your fight, Hagakure!"
"Ah, thanks! To be honest, I think I could have done way better..."
"You performed well enough, I have no doubt that you will be getting a decent amount of internship offers after the festival."
Toru let out a small sheepish giggle at Yaoyorozu's words.
'I hope she's right, the idea of getting a fanbase makes me really excited!'
"Could you tell us about that girl's Quirk? We were discussing it through the whole match, ribbit."
"Oh! It's really cool! She can see the future, isn't that crazy?!"
'A shame she's such a bitch though... okay, what is going on with me? Maybe I should drink some tea.'
The round tip of Asui's tongue peeked out of her lips as her already wide eyes widened even more in surprise. The rest of the class reacted similarly as they focused on Toru. Among the small crowd of students, Mineta was the first one to speak up.
"And she lost to you?"
Thwack!
"Ow! It was a genuine question!"
"Well, her weak spot is her left eye, if she closes it then her visions stop and I'm the natural enemy of every set of eyes out there sooo..."
No one in the class argued against that last statement, which made the living flashbang let out a soft huff.
"How did you figure out her Quirk? It could have been like a hundred other things."
Toru nodded her invisible head at Ojiro's question before responding.
"She kept rambling about how she knew everything plus her eye looks like a literal clock, honestly it's a bit embarrassing that it took me so long to figure it out with a hint like that."
"There's no need to be embarrassed! Quirks like that are extremely rare! Anyone would have thought of anything before realizing what was truly happening!"
"Thanks for the encouragement, vice-pres."
"Says the talking head taped to a chair!"
"I'm wondering how she didn't get into the Hero Course with a Quirk like that."
Jiro used one of her jacks to point at the shortest guy in the whole class.
"Especially when this... homunculus managed to do it."
"That's so rude!"
"It's time for the next matchup of the day, my little Loids~"
"Will the cold be enough to freeze the shadows themselves?! Or is the darkness going to conquer the arena?!"
"We're about to find out, Mic! Coming from the right side of the field we have the perfect counter for global warming! Cold unlike any other, yet burning with a fierce determination! The ice prince of Class 1-A, Shoto Todoroki!"
Hearing his introduction, Todoroki entered the arena, though for some reason his expression looked even colder than usual. Still, that didn't stop the girls in the crowd from grabbing the railings and—
"GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER!"
"YOU CAN TRY AND FREEZE ME, HANDSOME!"
"LET ME FIGHT YOU NEXT, SUGAR!"
"How unladylike, weren't they taught proper etiquette?"
"I think you're the only one who got classes for that, ribbit."
"I'm the first one to gossip about attractive guys but damn!"
"First Bakugo and now Todoroki! Curse you, pretty boys! You're all ruining my chances!"
'What chances?'
"WOAH! WOAH! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!"
Sero opened his mouth to retort before closing it again without saying a word.
"Now from the opposite side we have the shadow monarch himself! The one who can command shadows as if they were part of him! Let's make some noise for the dark master and his loyal companion! The one and only Fumikage Tokoyami!"
Tokoyami climbed the stairs up the platform with his hands inside his pockets before slightly tilting his head down and closing his eyes, completely unbothered by the loud spectators.
'There's two of them!'
"Okay, boys you already know the rules so~"
Whip!
"Start!"
Dark Shadow materialized in front of Tokoyami. The living Quirk didn't waste a second before rushing towards Todoroki with one of his claws already prepared for a strike.
"So who do you think is going to win, bestie?"
Toru asked as she glanced to the left and up towards the taped object.
Hearing Metal's words, Kirishima spoke up in protest.
"Tokoyami and Dark Shadow are really strong! Don't underestimate th—"
KKKKRRRRRRRRRRSHHHH!!!!!!
...
...
...
"Em..."
The whole stadium went silent as they stared in shock at the massive iceberg that engulfed the entire left side of the structure. The blue mountain rose high enough to peek out from the circular opening at the top of the stadium, no doubt shocking those outside.
"Eeeek!"
Three out of the four students at the front row raised their palms while scooting back in their seats to avoid the spiky formation that had appeared in the railings.
'Isn't that a bit too much?!'
"T-T-T-Tokoyami, can you move?"
The boy and his Quirk gave a negative answer, poor Dark Shadow seemed to cry inside the ice prison he was in while his user only had his beak out of the frost.
"T-Tokoyami is u-unable to continue! T-Todor-roki advances to the next r-round!"
The sound of Midnight's teeth chattering could be heard through the stadium thanks to her microphone, but no one blamed her since half of her body was frozen in place. Then a female Hero in the crowd took pity on the loser of the match.
"D-Don't worry about it!"
Hearing the Hero's words, the rest of the audience decided to follow her example to get rid of the awkward moment as Todoroki started working on unfreezing his classmate.
"Don't worry about it!"
"Don't worry about it!"
"Um, Metal couldn't you help them out down there?"
...
...
...
"Metal?"
Toru moved her gaze from the field towards the seat on her left only to find her best friend's head turned into a popsicle.
Snap.

[Ten Minutes Later - Sports Festival Arena - Narrator POV]
"I hope everyone used this small pause to have a cold drink! Having a sore throat can really ruin the mood, and that's coming from an idol! Anyways, let's start the show! This time it's pure speed against pure defense!"
"The color of his hair is as bright as the blood pumping through his veins! He will punch you in the face and then help you get back up! It's the unbreakable wall: Eijiro Kirishima!"
The redhead entered the arena with a sharp-toothed smile on his face, feeling happy with the introduction Mic made for him. The boy seemed to radiate excitement as he climbed the stairs before stopping on his side of the arena.
"You better tighten up your seatbelts for this one because the speed is about to kick off! The next Turbo Hero is upon us! I'm sure all of you have heard of Ingenium, so let's welcome his little brother: Tenya Iida!"
Iida entered the arena with his head high and a serious expression on his face. The vice-president of the Hero Course climbed the stairs not with arrogance, but with the confidence of someone who knew what they could and couldn't do.
"I knew your name sounded familiar! Do you think your brother would give me his autograph?"
"Absolutely! Tensei has never turned down a fan's request!"
Whip!
"Start!"
The exhaust pipes in both of Iida's calves roared as they pushed him forward with enough speed to clear the platform in seconds. Someone else may have been intimidated by the human bullet rushing towards them, but Kirishima wasn't one to back down from a challenge.
Skin hardened and turned into something resembling jagged rock. Kirishima's smile widened as he held both of his arms out, leaving his entire torso fully exposed to the incoming kick.
THUCK!
A hollow noise came from the impact point between Iida's right sole and Kirishima's chest. Despite the heavy hit, the manly student remained unharmed and rooted on the spot. Letting out a booming laugh, Kirishima thrust his left hand forward in an attempt to grab Iida's ankle, but the taller boy proved to be faster as he used the hard skin beneath his feet to backflip.
"Recipro..."
Iida landed in a low crouch just in front of Kirishima as the flames on his engines grew in size.
"Burst!"
The redhead pushed the hardening on his leg to its limit and while it was enough to cancel out any damage, it didn't stop his feet from being swept under him, sending the living boulder crashing onto his back.
'Nine seconds!'
Iida was back on his feet in an instant, and without wasting a single second he grabbed his opponent by the face. The back of Kirishima's uniform was ripped open as his body was dragged across the cement and carved a trench into the platform.
Even with his face covered by Iida's hand, Kirishima refused to give up and started sending out blind punches hoping to break free. Some of the attacks did manage to hit the running boy on the side of his midsection, but he just gritted his teeth and pushed through the pain while the blue flames of his Quirk boosted him forward.
...
"Eijiro Kirishima is out of bounds! Tenya Iida advances to the next round!"
Iida let go of his classmate's face as he moved to stand straight again while rubbing the spot where Kirishima hit him.
"Man, that was brutal!"
Kirishima jumped to his feet just outside the line at the edge of the platform. The boy took a step forward before holding his hand out.
"I wish the fight was a bit longer, but I'm glad you didn't hold back on me, vice-rep!"
"It would have been disrespectful to do so."
Iida took Kirishima's hand without hesitation and gave it a firm shake, causing the audience to clap at the display of sportsmanship.
"Also, I apologize for dragging you like that, but I don't think I am strong enough to lift you up while your Quirk is active."
"Don't sweat it! I'm sure it looked manly as hell!"
---
[Three Minutes Later - Sports Festival Arena - Narrator POV]
"This matchup seems to have been taken out of a classic fairy tale! He looks intimidating, but don't worry, you can ask for a photo at any time! It's the courteous beast from the Hero Course: Jurota Shishida!"
The named student stood on his side of the field while adjusting his rectangular glasses.
"Beauty doesn't equal harmless, for even the prettiest of roses have thorns, and this girl is the prime example of that! On the left side we have the green assassin from Class 1-B: Ibara Shiozaki!"
"Ummm... excuse me, Mr. Mic?"
Somehow Shiozaki's soft voice managed to cut through the noise and reach the commentators booth, causing Present Mic to let out a confused sound.
"Pardon the interruption, but what do you mean by 'assassin'?"
The Hero in training put her left hand on her chest while holding her right palm open at her neck level as she focused her gaze on the commentator.
"I only came here to win, not to take the life of any of my fellow students."
"S-Sorry!"
Shiozaki closed her eyes before intertwining both of her hands in front of her chest. Much to everyone's amazement, a golden light seemed to envelop the girl without any explanation.
"First of all, I didn't enter U.A. with any malicious intent. Instead, I'm striving to become a respectable Hero who can spread the kindness of our Lord across as many people as possible."
"I'm with her on this one, that was a pretty rude comment, Mic. You can't just call a delicate girl an 'assassin,' have some tact."
"I said sorry, okay?! My bad!"
"I thank you for your kind understanding."
Shiozaki bowed before opening her eyes and turning around to face the other side of the arena where her furry classmate was waiting.
"You little ones are hilarious, fufufu~"
Whip!
"Fight!"
Shishida's shirt was torn as his Quirk started working. The student's size changed dramatically as he steadily grew larger, his brown fur thickened while the two fangs peeking out from his lower jaw turned larger.
"Seems like the beast is breaking out of his cage! Prepare for a wild showdo—"
CCRRKEACK!
Present Mic was forced to stop his commentary as hundreds of thick green vines burst out from the floor, quickly engulfing Shishida in the middle of his transformation. The boy struggled against the thick binds and managed to rip some of them, but Shiozaki just replaced them with more until he was turned into a cocoon.
...
...
"Y-You're not supposed to interrupt people when they're powering up..."
"I'm not?"
Shiozaki asked with genuine confusion.
"Shishida! Can you move?!"
...
...
...
After a few seconds of not receiving an answer, Midnight pointed at Shiozaki with her feather fan.
"Shishida is immobilized! Shiozaki advances to the next round!"
The girl sent a quick prayer. Thankfully, she didn't detach her vines yet, so she was able to disarm the green prison and release her classmate.

[Sports Festival Stadium - Workshop - Metal's POV]
"I think that's dry enough."
Toru threw away the towel she was using to wipe away the water from Metal's head.
"Now you're all shiny! So maybe it wasn't so bad!"
"Kid, be nice to the girl."
Kyosuke chuckled before gesturing to the open pizza box beside Metal's head.
"Take a slice if you want, I'm sure you're hungry after your fight."
"Thank you, sir!"
The invisible uniform bounced with happiness as its owner extended her arm and grabbed a slice of pizza.
"Sho good!"
Toru hummed at the taste while chewing loudly, then she grabbed a nearby stool and took a seat in front of Metal before tapping his forehead with the knuckles of her free hand.
"They don't have a TV in here so chop-chop, I want to see Midoriya's match."
"I do, but you can't tell me that it's not cooler to watch things from an advanced robot!"
CLANK! C-C-CRK! Skkkrvmm!
No one in the workshop flinched at the sounds coming from Metal's body as his mother worked on it.
"Be more careful, Hatsume, you keep ruining the new paint..."
[This human is getting too comfortable around me.
"It's nice having someone that actually looks at me in the eyes."
I'm only doing this out of pity.

[Five Minutes After Midoriya's Match - Sports Festival Arena - Narrator POV]
"These two ladies are both recommended students so let us see if they deserve that honor!"
"Tall, beautiful, well-mannered, rich, an amazing Quirk, and a hair that makes me jealous! Is there anything this girl is lacking? We're about to find out why she's the president of Class 1-A! Make some noise for Momo Yaoyorozu!"
'I-I appreciate the introduction but I feel like it might be a bit over the edge.'
Yaoyorozu's cheeks took a slight red color as she looked around at all the people cheering for her. Somewhere in the stadium a certain person opened his mouth to throw a comment, but he was stabbed in the eye.
"I will admit that her Quirk gave me quite the scare when I first saw it in action! She would be the perfect actress for a horror film, but she chose to become a Hero instead! Cheer for the living lego set called Setsuna Tokage!"
Tokage's sharp smile—which Yaoyorozu found similar to Kirishima's—didn't falter at the nickname. On the contrary, she simply laughed while shaking her head, which caused her dark green hair to bounce slightly.
'Guess that means I'll be popular among the little brats, eh?'
Tokage thought with amusement as she imagined some toys being made in her shape.
'A custom gym outfit? Is that the vault boy law I read about?'
Whip!
"Show time, girls!"
Tokage's green and white outfit seemed to split like jello as various parts of her body detached from her and rushed towards Yaoyorozu. Seeing the flying body parts heading her way, the heir quickly raised her left forearm and created a metal shield.
'What can I make to win this? A staff would be practically useless right now.'
A pair of floating hands grabbed the upper edge of the shield and snatched it away from Yaoyorozu, then before she could even think a foot hit her in the back of the head, almost making her fall onto the ground.
Pink, blue, and white particles gathered in Yaoyorozu's forearms, indicating that she was creating something again. The creations turned out to be just another set of shields, which she used to cover her head as much as she could.
'Maybe a net could work? Or a blanket covered in a sticky substance? I could also just try to push one of her parts out of the boundaries, I just need time to think!'
Dozens of thoughts raced through Yaoyorozu's mind as she tried her hardest to concentrate, but the constant pressure of the floating limbs smashing against her shields didn't seem to give her any breathing room, forcing her to slowly step back.
'A taser? I don't know how the pain is distributed throughout her body when it's like this, what about a smoke bomb...? No, she would just float up until it clears, maybe I could try to sedate her?'
The shield on Yaoyorozu's right arm was snatched away from her just like before, but this time instead of throwing it away Tokage used the object to hit Yaoyorozu, to which the taller girl reacted by using her remaining shield to block the attack, making a slight tremor run up her arm.
Yaoyorozu didn't have time to pull herself together as the pair of floating hands spun in place for a few seconds before throwing the shield at her like a frisbee. The class rep barely managed to lift her own shield in front of her face to avoid what could have been a very painful hit, sadly that was what her opponent wanted.
All sorts of Tokage's body parts huddled together as they flew straight at Yaoyorozu's unguarded stomach and this time the girl didn't react fast enough, resulting in the air being driven out of her lungs as she was pushed backwards until finally—
"Momo Yaoyorozu is out of bounds! Setsuna Tokage advances into the next round!"
'Damn, I actually feel kinda bad now... meh, I'm sure she would feel worse if I went easy on her.'
Yaoyorozu gasped as the pressure on her stomach was released as Tokage's body parts returned to her. The winner of the match waved at the crowd with her arms as she made her way out of the arena.
'I-I didn't do anything...'
The loser clenched her hands tightly in frustration as she exited the arena with her head down.

[Sports Festival Stadium - Class 1-A Seats - Jiro's POV]
"Poor Yaomomo, I hope she's okay."
The class shared Ashido's sentiment as they watched their classmate enter the tunnel leading out of the arena.
'I'll definitely talk to her later, maybe some music would cheer her up a little?'
Suddenly the gloomy atmosphere was broken as a blonde guy peeked his head over the wall separating the seats belonging to the two classes.
"Hahaha! Was she supposed to be a recommended student?! She didn't even land a single hit! This just proves that Class 1-B is superior!"
...
...
"Metal, beat his ass."
Before the newly repaired robot could execute the command given by Jiro, a hand hit Monoma right on the neck, making the arrogant boy fall back like a sack of potatoes. Then, just a second later, a girl with an orange ponytail peeked her head over the wall.
"I'm so sorry about him, I swear I keep trying to erase this weird rivalry from his head but it's impossible."
"Next fighters please make your way to the arena!"
"Ah! That's us!"
Kendo jumped over the wall separating the classes, then she approached Uraraka with a friendly smile.
"Come on! Let's walk together!"
"U-uh? Y-Yeah, okay!"
The bubbly girl shook her head to snap out of her confusion before following the other girl, who chatted casually with her along the way.
...
"Hey, Metal."
The machine's head spun around to look at Jiro, who had her elbow on the backrest of his seat while staring down at him.
"If you see that guy walking alone, can you, you know?"
"Thanks, pal."
"Don't corrupt my bestie, Jiro!"
'As if he wasn't corrupted right out of the factory.'

[Sports Festival Arena - Narrator POV]
"These two are my personal favorites in the entire tournament so I'm sad that one of them has to go!"
"Mic, I'm pretty sure a commentator is supposed to be impartial."
"I'm rooting for the both of them! That's as impartial as it can get!"
Both girls in the arena glanced at the commentator booth before looking at each other and shrugging.
"On the right side of the field we have the personification of 'Catch these hands!' She can be kind but she can also be ruthless! She's the representative for Class 1-B and she gives some major older sibling vibes! Her name is Itsuka Kendo!"
'How does Mic know about that stupid nickname? It hasn't been that long since I got it!'
"They say that you should find a girl that can make you feel like you're on the clouds so I got good news for you! Just a small touch from this adorable bun is enough to lift anyone off their feet! From Class 1-A it's Ochaco Uraraka!"
'This is so embarrassing! I know my parents are laughing right now!'
Whip!
"Get to punching each other but I don't want either of you pulling any hair!"
Both girls start running towards each other with zero hesitation. Kendo decided to go straight for the offensive as she enlarged both of her hands and went for a grab once the other girl got close enough.
Uraraka, seeing the two giant hands quickly closing in from both of her sides, didn't think for even a second before diving forward into the hard concrete, successfully dodging the grab in exchange for some scrapes on her elbows, which she didn't pay any attention to as she quickly tapped Kendo on the ankle.
"W-Woah!"
The student from Class 1-B moved her big hands around the air as she desperately tried to find something to grab onto before she could float up into the sky. Thankfully for her, Uraraka stood up quickly and grabbed her ankles.
"Dragon..."
Uraraka used her opponent's body as leverage to spin around in place, which forced Kendo to turn off her Quirk to press both of her hands against her mouth to avoid vomiting.
"Throw!"
Kendo's body flipped through the air without control, making the already dizzy girl close her eyes as her face gained a small green hue. Thankfully it wasn't too long before her back touched one of the walls of the stadium, putting a stop to her erratic movements.
"Itsuka Kendo is out! Ochaco Uraraka makes it to the next round!"
Uraraka quickly put her hands together, releasing her Quirk. A small groan came from Kendo's mouth as her body landed on the grass with a soft thud. It took the orange-haired girl a few seconds to gather herself and open her eyes. Once she did, she found a hand waiting for her to take it.
"Ugh... Thanks..."
Kendo took hold of Uraraka's hand, who gently lifted her off the ground.
"Just try to stare at one point for a moment, the nausea should pass soon, trust me, I'm speaking from experience."
Both girls laughed softly as they left the arena with one of them supporting the other.
'I wanted to say Cosmic Throw so where did the Dragon come from?'

[Sports Festival Stadium - Metal's POV]
"It's time for the first round of the quarterfinals, folks! And what a way to start off! This is going to be a showdown between friends!"
Metal made his wrists rotate a few times just to make sure his mother didn't forget to tighten anything.
[Recollecting Memory Fragment...
Memory Fragment Found:
Designation: Down The Stairs.
Doesn't matter how advanced I get, I still can't figure out how Mom can be so intelligent and so idiotic at the same time.]
The image of a pair of silver legs rolling down the stairs was dismissed from the machine's internal HUD.
"One second you can't see her because she's invisible and in the next you can't see her because you went blind! Calling her a ghost was an error on my part as she's the brightest light this festival has seen! You already know her name, it is Toru Hagakure!"
Toru left the tunnel leading to the arena while waving at the people in the stands in excitement. While the audience did cheer for the floating uniform, some did scoff or simply chose to ignore her.
[So just being considered my friend is bad for her reputation...
I cannot experience pain and yet I know humans are a headache.]
"You're here again? Wait, where's Miku?"
"Dunno, I'm only here to brag about my baby!"
The sound of the girl clearing her throat echoed through the speakers before she spoke again.
"I'm confident when I say that he's the strongest machine in history! Equipped with the best that Hatsume Industries can provide, if any company is interested please call me, my living magnum opus: Metal Hatsume!"
Metal's yellow lights flickered for a second as he entered the arena after the introduction. This time the stadium was completely silent, which the robot considered an improvement over the previous hostility.
"Are you both ready?"
Midnight asked from her raised platform once Metal reached his designated spot.
"Yep!"
"Then start!"
Whip!
...
...
"You're not going to ask if I want you to hold back for a little bit?"
The invisible girl laughed while waving her right hand dismissively, or at least Metal assumed she did based on the way the short sleeves of her uniform moved from side to side.
"Actually I'd say that I would be angry if you even considered asking me that."
<...>
Metal's red pointed shoes let out a heavy sound with every step he took towards his opponent.
"Welp, I guess this is as far as I go! Not bad if I say so myself!"
Toru yawned as she stretched both arms above her head before putting them back down.
"Whatchu think, Metal?"
"Heh, spoken like a true tsundere!"
THWOOM!
...
...
"Stop staring at me like that! It was worth a shot!"
Metal raised his right hand and put two fingers on Toru's neck.
"You better win, tinhead."
Krrzzt.
The machine caught his best friend's body as she slumped forward like a puppet with its strings cut.

I was going to skip through the fights but idk that felt kind of lazy, which I am but still at the end i decided to just write each battle and make them short.
also i realized that for some reason i've been writing the last fights a bit too paused like: action-dialogue-action-dialogue, no idea why but uhh i'll try to not fall into that too much.
aside from that i also saw that the seats where the class is in are actually more like small plastic chairs but for some reason i've been picturing them as those seats you find in threaters so lets just say Nezu was feeling generous bc of the villain attack and all, okay? okay
