It's been two weeks after the incident and she was now getting ready to meet Jin. This time she wasn't just getting ready for the money but also for survival. She knew that if she could get her father a few cash, she would be safe for some days. The bruises on her face had healed tremendously but she couldn't say the same for her body. He didn't really hit her in the face except for his first punch that busted her lips and almost knocked out her teeth. Luckily for her, Mrs Seung had iced it for her when she was still unconscious at their house so the swelling had reduced when she got home.
She didn't even notice it until she sat in front of the mirror in her room and saw the slight swell on her lips. Now, the swelling was gone and it seemed as if nothing had happened. She was now dressed in her favorite dress, the one her father bought for her during her first meeting with the president two years ago. Even though it brought back memories she didn't want to remember, she still loved it just as much as she did then. That was the only memory worth remembering in that particular year. She remembered smiling so hard when she saw it, She was so happy when she found out that it was purple which is her favorite color. It is an off shoulder gown with some kind of flared material around the chest area. She mostly loved the way it was fitted around her bodice and was flared from below her waist. It gave her this soft, innocent image she hadn't seen since a long time ago.
Now fast in the present, if still gave her that soft glow she wanted. She wasn't worried about the size since it's been two years since it was bought, she barely increased in size. Maybe she added a few inches to her height but that was It. It still fit her perfectly, it looked just as new cause she didn't wear it since that day. The only difference was that it was now more fitted around her bodice and was shorter reaching about five inches before her knee.
She now wore a lazy bun, using a tutorial she watched online. She never thought that the first time she would use YouTube would be to learn how to style her hair. She was proud of her little accomplishment but also not proud of the reason she had to do it. It looked good nevertheless. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her phone and the little cash she had with her before dashing out. She had been lucky recently since her father hadn't been home probably since the day he hit her which she was happy for.
Her phone dinged just as she reached the bus stop, and she wasn't surprised to see it was a message from Jin indicating the time she was supposed to be there which means she had just an hour to get there since it was already 4:00pm. She got in the bus not really caring about the message since he lived in the urban part of the city which was approximately an hour journey from where she lived. The only thing that kept bugging her was anxiety. She might actually have to run away now to keep her life.
She got there safe to say in one mind but different thoughts. It took a while before she was allowed access into the gates that led to the estate. The security had to go through a lot of safety measures including calling the address before she was allowed in. The security were at least nice but the people she encountered on the street probably going for their evening stroll looked at her like she was filth which she already felt she was. They couldn't be blamed, .....is a place for the rich, people like are aren't supposed to be there. She kept on her way, only stopping when she reached her destination. For a while, she just stood there taking it all in. The house was huge, that's if she could call it a house. Her entire neighborhood could fit in it with extra space for a garden. Slowly, she hit doorbell or gate bell since she wasn't even inside the compound. She had barely dropped her hand when the gates opened up. Walking in, she couldn't help but notice how crey it looked especially now that it was dark. For one, it was eerily quiet and she couldn't make out anybody but she really couldn't care less. She reached the main door and pushed the doorbell again. Just like before the door also opened automatically so she just walked in. The door led to a hallway which then led to a huge room which silk sofas and a wine cellar by the end of it. An equally huge staircase was situated right in the middle of the room and next to it, she could make out an almost wood like door which she soon found out was an elevator when it opened up. She followed it up while pondering on how unbalanced the world is. In here, luxury was a lifestyle while to her, it was an impossible dream. The smooth marble floors and those couches which was most certainly more comfortable than her bed, not to talk of the ridiculously large room downstairs probably just used as a cellar and even the elevator. Why have a stairs then.
The loud ding from the little transport machine brought her back to the present.
She walked out and still found herself genuinely surprise when she once again found a lounge. This one was different as the entire place was open to the outside, no windows or walls and an amazing view. She couldn't linger on that as a door slid open on her left so she walked towards it. She had literally been following programmed machineries since she entered the house. The door shut behind her when she walked in and she found herself in a really spacious room. What wouldn't be spacious in a house like this. There in the middle of the room, she found her new user. He sat on the bed, one that could harbor at least six people with his gaze down. His dressed comprises of a black suit trouser and a white shirt which he buttoned down showing more of his chest than the the shirt was meant to cover.
You're late, he simple said before raising his head. That was when she really noticed him. He was holding a glass of whatever cause she didn't recognize the liquid in it. His hair was all over the place looking like he had most likely ran his hand through it lots of time. He moved from his former position to drop the glass on the mahogany desk next to the bed before moving right back.
Come here... She stood frozen from his word, she shouldn't be scared right, she had done this lots of time while barely sparing a glance. His deep, raspy voice had thrown her off guard. Slowly, she took small steps towards him and as she got near, he suddenly tugged her forward and she found herself in the bed with his face buried deep in her neck and one of his hands in her hair. It was so fast she barely registered it not until he took a huge sniff at her causing her to flinch and try to push h off her. Try was an understatement cause all her effort were futile as he didn't even budge until he seemed satisfied and finally got off her. With her heart pounding, she leaped off the bed and almost crashed down which would have been even more embarrassing for her. As she steadied herself, she found his eyes on her watching her like he was trying to decipher her entire thought. Her once neat lazy bun bow had strands falling down her face from when he ran his hands through them.
He stood up and pulled out four bundles of cash from his pocket. He dropped it on the bed and left the room leaving her alone. She took a moment to steady her breathing before her eyes went to the money now laying on the bed.
Wait... that was it?. Really, but they didn't do anything. Confusion etched in her soul and she was sure there was no way she could find him in this park of a house.
Was he also paying for their next meet? Or would it be worse the next time, so was this consolation. That was so much more than what the president payed. It low-key scared her, so not to be greedy she just took one wad of cash to satisfy her father and left.
She now sat in the bus, her mind doing an evil job of replaying what happened earlier that day. When she prepared for thier meeting, she wasn't anything as gentle as this, she had deemed it worse cause she thought he would most likely just mock her. She was so used to his superiority complex that anything other than that was so wierd to her. His gentleness surprised her but she knew better not to expect a treatment like that the next time so she forced her mind out of that thought. She should rather focus on how her father would react.
She got home and her father still hadn't shown up so she just drop the money on the old but sturdy table and left for her room to shower before laying on her bed. Tomorrow was a new day. She would go back to school after been away for two weeks and look for a really believable excuse on the reason she skipped. But for now, she would sleep, her burden has been lifted....., just for a week tops. She would worry about that later, a way would come. Right ..
