"Are y-you sure..?" Sieun worries.
"Very sure, so look closely." I walk to it.
"Is it safe?" Ash peaks over.
"Does that thing look dangerous to you?"
I point at the zombie that is walking into the van repeatedly.
"Oh- Fair point." She says sheepishly.
"It's pretty stupid, no?" Yunjin goes closer.
"I mean it is a zombie." Chase say flatly.
"Yeah, but you know, they could have been a bit smarter." She gestures animatedly.
"Works better for us though." Hanna leans against a car.
The zombie groans and claws at the van, the metal making this horrible screech.
Kreeck!
My teeth grind together.
"Ah-! What the hell?" Ash covers her ears dropping her racket.
"It's confused and getting restless."
I go closer. "I'll show you how now, don't let the noise distract you." Despite saying this the noise is making me uncomfortable aswell.
I stop behind it racket in hand.
"We've tried stabbing the neck, hitting the ribs. Things that could kill a human, not a zombie."
"Your point is?" Hanna asks.
"We can't kill them just anywhere, we have to aim for the head." I tap my own head with the racket. "That's how I killed the other zombie earlier, directly in the head."
"That doesn't seem hard?" Chase tilts his head.
"Dude that can't be coming from you." Yunjin says bluntly.
He goes quiet again, just watching now.
"It's simple like he said, but your nerves didn't help you before. It's fine though, we can learn together."
"I won't disappoint!!" Ash grins.
"I'll try I guess." Yunjin holds her arm.
"Yes ma'am." Hanna gives a mock salute.
"W-what if I can't?" Sieun stutters.
"We have all the time to learn."
He gives a nervous smile. "Thanks."
"Im in." Chase steps closer.
Hyun nods.
"Cool." I say simply before swinging at the zombie's head.
THWAAK!
Blood splatters on the white van now red as the zombies body goes limp sliding down against the van, the blood following its path.
I go over and crouch down, I take my knife out its neck first then my racket out the jaw.
"That's it?" Yunjin asks.
"Pretty much." I get up sliding the knife in my pocket and giving Hyun's racket back to him.
"So just aim for their head?" Ash asks.
"Yes, I don't think we can kill them anywhere else."
"So the brain must be where the virus starts?" Ash questions.
"Huh, virus?" Yunjin looks confused.
"Yeah..? Yun how dense are you. These things aren't aliens and when bitten you turn into one aswell, basically a virus."
"But don't they look more like corpses? Their already dead, so even if there's a cure in the future the person would still be dead."
I never expected Yunjin to come out with a theory like this, a smart one at that.
"Hey guys less talk more walk now." Chase waves his hand for us to follow, him already near the entrance of the airport, Sieun and Hyun with him.
Yunjin groans.
"Do we really have to?"
"Yes." Ash grabbed her arm
She groaned again dragging her feet.
"Such a baby." Ash sighs.
She whines in response.
I take my racket, some of it still covered in zombie blood and saliva. I shake it off with a few swings then go.
Wait, Hanna. Where is she?
I turn my head back. Hanna is walking over calmly.
Does she notice all the blood on her?
It's all over her like spilt red paint to her face dripping down to her neck. Uniform looking like a canvas with splattered paint.
"Hanna? You ok?" I walk over.
"More than ok." She have a small twisted smile.
Who the fuck is this?
"Want to talk about it?"
"I just killed a few zombies!! mabye two or three humans but they would have died anyways." She explains like an excited child.
"On your own..?"
"Mm hmm." She nods her hands behind her back her legs crossed, she's waiting for approval.
How did she even manage that. Guess an apocalypse really changes people.
"Did you get hurt?"
"Hmm I don't think so."
"Right. Can I check?"
"What? Do you not trust me Alexandra?"
Her tone is defensive with a hint of anger.
"I do, but if the others see you like this they will be suspicious. Like before on the roof. They really thought I got bitten"
"Oh. So you were worried me?" Her ears are a faint red.
"I guess." I go over and behind her gently lifting up her shirt just enough to see her back.
"H-hey!"
"What?"
"This is inappropriate!" She squeals out.
"Relax we're both girls, and we can't risk you turning into a zombie."
"F-f-fine." She looks away.
Her back is slim, stained with dots of blood. There are faint bruises but other than that it's fine.
I pull her shirt down.
"Arms."
"Can we skip that one."
"Hanna, I need to check."
"But I told you I didn't get hurt!"
"Hanna."
She sighs and stretches her arms out hesitantly as I go to the front now, rolling up her sleeves.
Oh. Her scars. I stare at them briefly then look at her. She looks away biting her lip.
"It's alright.. guess things were hard for you too." I say comforting as I roll her sleeves down.
"Is it weird?"
I shake my head. "No, but don't do it anymore. Ok? We want you here."
She nods a small smile forming.
"Your really good at this understanding thing."
I give a small smile back.
"Oh and will we still talk tonight?"
I nod
"You can vent all you want to me."
She smiles.
"Your the best!"
"I know." I tease.
"Cocky bastard." She teases back.
I finish checking her, she has faint past scars and bruises other than that no bites.
"How many did you kill?"
"Like..8?"
"Holy fuck?!"
She giggles.
"Is that good?"
"Definitely."

"Guys! Enough with the lovey dovey and walk your asses!!" Yunjin shouts back.
"Guess that's our cue."
I ruffle her hair playfully before walking ahead.
"Hey!" She jogs up and pulls my hair gently.
I laugh lightly and flick her forehead before walking ahead.
"Come on slow poke."
I stick my tongue out at her tauntingly.
She whines sarcastically while really laughing.
"Whatever."

"Finally! Took you guys forever to come. What were you even doing?"
"We were killing zombies, Chase."
"More like she was."
"Hanna killed zombies?" Yunjin questions.
"She so did."
"Well, I'll kill some too!! Then I'll help you Hanna!"
Ash cheers her on.
Hyun sighs and taps my shoulder.
"Hm?"
He points to the entrance.
"Can we go now..?" He says quietly just enough for me to hear.
"Yeah, sorry for the wait."
He shakes his head and gives a thumbs up.
Sieun walks behind Hyun though Hyun looks uncomfortable.
Those two were so close before. Something definitely happened on the roof.
I go walk beside Hyun to make Sieun go to Ash.
"Let's go back in our pairs."
They shuffle around, back in our formation before.
"We going inside now?" Ash asks.
"Yes, so be careful. If you have a racket be ready."
Sieun flinches at that.
"Sieun, if you don't want to fight give your racket to Yunjin."
He nods and hands it.
"Alright!!" She grins and swings it around to test.
"Don't hit me you dumbass." Ash dodges her swings.
Yunjin mimics her tauntingly.
"You little-"
"Shh.. we're going in now.." I take the lead. "Haah.. let's do this.."
They nod back.
I go up to the entrance and open the door just enough to peak in.
