Chapter 5 - The Wheel Turns

As the divine general's wheel clicked into place once again, it adapted to the ember insect's explosion. Its body rapidly regenerated, bones snapping back into place and flesh regrowing before finally standing on its feet again, then it looked at the bird shikigami.

Mahoraga jumped up, grabbing Nue with one hand and using its sword with the other hand to stab it.

"DIVINE DOGS: TOTALITY!"

Another shikigami hopped out from the boy's shadow, a large werewolf-like creature with white and black fur.

It jumped at Mahoraga and scratched at its sword arm, causing the creature to let go of Nue, who then flew back up the stairs and put itself in front of Toji and its summoner.

The boy let all 3 of his summoned shikigami back into his shadow.

Mahoraga clearly was not satisfied and began running toward their group, which then caused Toji and his new ally to run up the stairs and into the rest of Shibuya Station while he carried the two downed sorcerers, though Mahoraga was clearly catching up.

Jogo and Dagon then looked at each other and nodded, deciding to follow Mahoraga as he chased the sorcerers down.

"Come on, did you run out of shikigami or something?!"

"I've got this handled, mister! RABBIT ESCAPE!"

As the boy said that, easily a hundred rabbits hopped out of his shadow, distracting Mahoraga as they attempted to attack it.

Toji and the boy took the opportunity to keep running, though by the time Mahoraga freed himself and continued chasing them, they had been backed into a corner.

"DIVINE DOGS: TOTALITY!''

His divine dog shikigami appeared once again, roaring at Mahoraga while standing between it and the boy.

"I'm afraid that thing won't do much, kid."

"Well, have you got any other bright ideas?!"

Toji and the mysterious boy argued, though they could do nothing to stop the divine general.

"Do you have a weapon in your shadow, boy? I lost mine when I ran to save you."

As Toji asked that, the boy immediately manifested a shadow directly in front of him before reaching into it, then pulling out a Katana.

"That could work. Pass it over."

Toji then abruptly let the two sorcerers he was carrying fall.

The blonde man was still out cold, having taken the largest punishment out of any of them, while the green-haired girl winced in pain, holding her stomach.

"Zenin! Are you okay?"

The boy, concerned, stood over his clearly wounded friend.

"Pass the Katana, kid!"

Toji demanded, and the boy nodded and passed it over.

Meanwhile, the divine dog attempted to scratch or bite at Mahoraga, though it had already adapted to those phenomena.

Meanwhile, a loud thud could be heard as Mahoraga had thrown the divine dog into the wall, the shikigami nearly dying.

Toji then paused in confusion.

"Wait, did you call her a Zenin? Aren't you one as well?"

"No, my name is Megumi. Megumi Fushiguro."

Toji then smiled, readying his blade.

"That makes me glad."

Toji jumped up, charging at the Divine General as their blades clashed, both unable to hit each other.

He danced around his opponent, dodging all of Mahoraga's slashes and looking for a weak point.

Dagon then turned to Jogo.

"Shouldn't we help?''

"There's no need to. If Toji Fushiguro loses, I'll take care of his mess.

Meanwhile, Megumi desperately tried to summon a shikigami, ANY shikigami, though he had run out of cursed energy.

Toji lunged at Mahoraga, though the divine general was faster. A clean kick to the stomach, sending him flying to the wall.

As Toji stumbled back up, the Divine general was there to meet him.

Toji readied his sword to block, though he was overpowered; Mahoraga's blade punctured him through the heart.

Blood splattered on the concrete behind him, though Toji's smile didn't fade even in death.

Mahoraga pulled his blade out, then turned to Megumi and his two fellow sorcerers, the man still knocked out while the girl struggled to even get up on her two feet.

Then, two small volcano-like protrusions appeared on the wall on either side of them, which then began a strong current of fire in Mahoraga's direction, protecting the sorcerers, though it stopped just short of the beast.

Megumi's mouth opened, and he watched awestruck as Mahoraga turned to Jogo and Dagon, who entered an attacking stance.

Dagon stepped forward.

"I'll-''

Though Jogo put his arm in front of him.

"You won't do anything. Leave it to me."

"But-"

"Dagon, that creature only adapted to my ember insect's explosion. It hasn't yet adapted to my fire or magma."

The air felt heavy as everyone awaited Jogo's next move.

He then put his hands into a strange hand sign.

"DOMAIN EXPANSION! COFFIN OF THE IRON MOUNTAIN!"

Question: What is the disaster curse Jogo to you?

Hanami: "A dependable, good friend of mine. He's not as resistant as I am, but between the disaster curses, he's-"

Dagon: "He saved my life. out of everyone in Shibuya, now that Gojo is out of the way, he's likely-"

Kenjaku: "A formidable curse. And I believe he's got the potential to one day be-"

Mahito: "Quick to anger, not very smart, but above all, he's also-"

Gojo: "Annoying. Though I've got to say, between all the curses I've fought, he is probably-"

Choso: "I don't know him well, though I've lived for some 150 years now, and out of all curses I've met, he's-"

"THE STRONGEST!"

As Jogo's domain formed around everyone, it resembled the inside of a volcano, with it being perfectly encased by volcanic rock on all sides.

He then manipulated the environment to create two 'towers' of volcanic rock, raising both Dagon on one side of the domain and Megumi's group on the other.

Then, he used his ember insects to lift himself up in the air, now standing above Mahoraga.

The domain began heating up, then, in between the cracks in the volcanic rock, Lava began forming, filling up slowly at first, then quickly.

"WELCOME TO MY DOMAIN EXPANSION, MAHORAGA!"

"Be proud. You were powerful enough to force me into using it."

Jogo gave the divine general a wicked smile, his black teeth showing fully. Realizing the danger it was in, Mahoraga attempted to jump and get up on one of the towers.

However, when it did that, Jogo formed many small volcanoes on the domain's roof, using all of them to spew fire with all their strength, creating blasts powerful enough to destroy whole buildings, burning the divine general.

Mahoraga's body was almost destroyed, limbs charred and chest severely damaged, and the wheel was yet to even get close to completing a full rotation.

Though something strange was happening.

Mahoraga was...

Growing?
