The medical staff insisted on checking if I'm okay. I was, after all, I didn't get hit. They let me go quickly go when they realized I was fine. Mayumi came over too worried about our safety. Our match was canceled but the other team was disqualified. For illegal spell use. Apparently Jumonji was talking to the committee and we would have an answer tomorrow. Mayumi told me to rest in my room for the rest of the day. I was fine, but I didn't feel like arguing.
I got to my room, opened the door, and was immediately hug tackled.
"RYUUUUU!"
Kuro slammed into me almost knocking me over.
"Kuro, I'm fine you know an incident like that is basically nothing form me, even if it hit me."
I looked down at her tearful pouting face. I smiled at her.
"I'm fine Kuro, I honestly knew this would happen I'm sorry I didn't tell you. You wouldn't have let me if I did."
I pet her head. She's so cute.
"Besides Kuro, if things go like I plan I might need you."
She cheered up at that prospect.
"I've been ordered to rest for the remainder of the day. So, let's just lounge and cuddle."
She didn't say anything. She just smiled widely and dragged me to bed. She then, layed there holding me and refused to let go. Sakura had to bring us food. She told us that Mayumi wanted to see me afterwards.
"President, Jumonji, you called me."
"Yes, because you are the only member of the team left who is able to continue the committee is allowing us to select new members for the Monolith code team. We've decided to let you select those members."
"Before I answer who I choose. Can I can i choose anyone even people not on the teams."
"HUH!? How-"
Jumonji held up his hand up to silence them.
"Explain."
I nodded.
"Admittedly I know nothing of the other athletes, or their abilities. That alone would make it difficult. The fact that none of them could likely live up to my standard is also a factor. As I made my displeasure clear from the beginning."
The other athletes frowned at my statement.
"We can't-"
Jumonji interrupted.
"I'll talk to the committee about it after all the sabotage they have no room to argue."
Jumonji offered to deal with commitee
"Great because I know who I will pick."
"Alright who?"
"I'll pick Kuro Zetsumei and Leonhard Saijou."
"One of those is a woman the Monolith code is traditionally men's only event. And Leonhardt Saijou is a course 2 student."
I saw Tatsuya made that weird sword CAD thing so he's the best choice.
"Tradition is just peer pressure from Dead people."
Jumonji's stoic expression cracked slightly from my response. Mayumi looked like she was trying not to laugh.
"And also Kuro like me is combat tested and she's strong. This isn't favoritism I wouldn't pick her if she wasn't useful for this. Also, her magic is B-rank perfectly within acceptable parameters, as long as she doesn't go for a killing blows her magic is allowed."
Jumonji nodded.
"And Leonhardt Saijou?"
"He's a brick wall of a man. Kinda like you Jumonji. He's can take a hit and would be a perfect defender for the monolith."

"They won't like Zetsumei participating."
"Making an event gendered is an outdated concept."
He chuckled at that.
"Alright I'll talk to the committee."
With that I left to go find Kuro and Leonhardt. I found her not far from the hotel room.
"Ryu your back. what did Mayumi need you for?"
"They asked me to pick new members for monolith code. I chose you and Leonhardt. I was going to find him after telling you. Want to come with?"
"Yes!"
It took a minute to find him, but we did eventually he was with Tatsuya, Miyuki, and Erika.
"Leo, you got a minute?"
"Huh? Oh, Ryu. Yeah, I got a minute what you need."
"As all four of you know my two former team mates can no longer continue with the event. So I we were given permission to choose 2 new members Leo your one of them. Your going to be defending the monolith. The other members is Kuro she's going to run Harassment tactics with her new spell."
"I thought girls aren't allowed to participate?"
Erika was confused by that. Miyuki and Leo looked equally confused.
"They're not, but as I said tradition is just peer pressure from dead people and gendered events are stupid. Plus Kuro is a trained combatant like me."
Erika and Leonard nodded. Miyuki looked like she wanted to pray for our competitors.
"Anyway, Tatsuya you mind if Leo borrows that Sword CAD thing you made."
I don't think he was still mad at me. If not I could make do but it would make things easier.
"Fine if it helps you win."
His tone still sounded agitated. Meh, he wouldn't sabotage his own school it would probably upset Miyuki. This is just a guess though.
Time passed and it was the next day. I was not paying attention to who we were fighting. It was the Forest terrain the monoliths were in two clearings. We were armored for the event Sakura did a quick modification with her magic to Kuro's outfit to support her… sizable bust.
"Alright let's go over the plan. Leo since this is the Forrest terrain you won't need to do anything."
He nodded, I explained why earlier to him.
"Got it"
"Kuro your gonna release the hounds go for restraint and harassment."
Leo looked confused, but understood he'd find out what I meant later.
"I'm going to get rid of the forest they won't be able to hide."
Leo had seen when I demolished the building. He didn't doubt I could do it. Kuro knew what spell I was bout to pull out.
We entered the arena and waited for the count down. Because of the enhance sense I can actually here the enemy team from here. It was a whisper at this range but I could hear them. I usually tune out the excess noise.
"Heh they brought a girl. We got this."
"Are you sure? Ryu Yotsuba and Kuro Zetsumei crushed every opponent in ice pillars break. Plus one of them is a Yotsuba family member "
"Pfft, that was that, this is this. Yotsuba I fear nothing."
These guys must live under a rock if they don't know who we are. They are going to regret underestimating us.

A psion storm emerged around me immediately. Beams of star shaped lights shot upwards in an arc from me. The stars rained down upon the forest blasting the forest to splinters. I opened the match with an Eternal Flare Bombardment spell. I scaled down its strength so the blast wouldn't kill anyone. Good thing to looks like it knocked one of them out.
"Kuro, do it."
I started walking them down. Kuro summoned her hounds. Psion constructs of plasma started charging the enemies.
*GGRRRGGHHH*
The hounds growled and the opponents panicked. This wasn't going to be a fight. This was going to be a one sided show of force. Did I feel a little bad that Leo didn't get to do anything, a little bit. But I can't just demolish the field every match especially on indoor fields.
In they're panic they forgot they could give up.
*Beeeep*
The signal for the match end sounded they apparently passed out in fear. Understandable, this was a show of force after all. I was hoping the other teams would forfeit.
