The black-armored hunter stood before the High Cathedral.
"I request permission," he said calmly.
"To hunt the Devourer."
The Archbishop nodded.
"If he evolves further, humanity ends."
The hunter's blade pulsed with anti-shadow light.
"I will cut him down."
But alone, he touched his chest.
A hidden scar shaped like a shadow.
And whispered—
"Forgive me."
