"Because you're starving it," Silver Eyes replied.
"Starving?"
"You devour shadows. But if you don't feed… it devours you."
His stomach twisted.
Suddenly, darkness dripped from the tunnel walls.
Small shadow creatures crawled forward.
The whisper grew louder.
"Eat…"
Kaito hesitated.
Then reached out.
The creatures dissolved into him.
Relief flooded his body.
But his eyes glowed brighter.
Silver Eyes frowned.
"That wasn't hunger."
"That was addiction."
