Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

Syed Ahmed looked at Jungkook, a mixture of concern and disappointment etched on his face. "Listen, my dearest child," he began, his voice steady but laced with emotion. "You really need to think about the choices you're making. Clubbing, sleeping with girls—it's totally haram. This path will lead you to jahannam, and you know the consequences. I've told you this a hundred times, but you never listen. When you were young, you were so good, so innocent. But now, it feels like you've strayed far from our teachings. Just think about it for a moment—these things aren't good for you."

Jungkook felt a surge of rebellion. He cut his father off, his tone defiant. "I will enjoy my youth, Dad! My everlasting youth! You can't expect me to live by rules that feel so outdated."

Syed Ahmed shook his head, a deep sigh escaping his lips. "Jungkook, it's not about being outdated. It's about protecting your soul. You have so much potential, and I just want you to see that."

Frustrated, Jungkook turned away, his heart racing. "I need to get away from this for a bit," he muttered under his breath as he walked out the door, slamming it behind him. He climbed into his car, the engine roaring to life as he drove aimlessly, trying to escape the weight of his father's words and the confusion swirling in his mind.

"Tonight, I'll check the details of the workers," he thought, gripping the steering wheel tightly. "But right now, I just need to calm my mind."

Arriving at David's place, he knocked on the door with a sense of urgency. David opened it, his eyes widening in surprise. "Oh, Eiden—I mean Jungkook! What are you doing here at this hour?"

"Let's drink," Jungkook said, a hint of desperation in his voice as he stepped inside.

"Sure, come in! I've got some good stuff!" David replied, his enthusiasm infectious. As they settled into the living room, Jungkook tried to push his worries aside. "I just need a break from everything, you know?" he said, pouring himself a drink.

David nodded, sensing the tension. "Yeah, man, I get it. Life can be a lot sometimes. Just forget about it all for tonight."

Jungkook raised his glass, a forced smile on his face. "To forget, then."

"To forget!!" David echoed, clinking his glass against Jungkook's. For a moment, the laughter and the drinks washed away the heaviness in Jungkook's heart, but deep down, the shadows of his father's words still lingered.

Iliana sat at her desk, her eyes darting across the documents scattered around her. "No, this one seems clear... and this one too," she muttered to herself, flipping through the pages with increasing frustration. She was determined to uncover which worker was faking their identity. Her father had built this industry on the foundation of compassion, hiring those who were either orphaned, underpaid, or abandoned. It was a mission close to her heart.

Sighing deeply, she glanced at her laptop screen, searching for any discrepancies. "No, not this one either," she said, shaking her head. The clock on the wall chimed 5 PM, and a wave of concern washed over her. "Where is Jungkook? Did he just back off? Allah knows best why he left in such a hurry," she pondered aloud, her heart heavy with worry. "Ya Allah, help me out..."

Feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders, Iliana ascended to the upper floor to offer her prayers. After completing her Salah, she lowered her head in sujood, her heart pouring out to Allah. "Ya Rab, please help me. Make a way for me to assist those suffering from cancer. Please make me their zariya so I could help them," she whispered, her eyes closed tightly as she sought guidance.

Meanwhile, Jungkook was at David's house, feeling the effects of the drinks he'd consumed. Suddenly, in a haze of drunkenness, he found himself in a dream.

Iliana appeared before him, her expression a blend of concern and frustration. "Where have you been all this time, Jeon?" she questioned, folding her prayer mat with a hint of irritation. "What have you done to me? Why did your hand get injured today? My heart was burning with worry."

Jungkook, fueled by a mix of emotions and alcohol, felt a surge of anger. He stepped closer, pinning Iliana against the wall with a fierce intensity. "You have no idea what I've been through!" he snapped, his voice low and threatening.

Iliana's eyes widened in shock, and she responded instinctively, her hand flying out to slap him. "How dare you touch me, Jeon!" she exclaimed, her voice shaking with both fear and fury.

But Jungkook, caught in a whirlwind of emotions, pushed her down, his intentions clouded. "You don't get it! I'm trying to protect myself!" he growled, his hands reaching for her abaya, driven by a mix of confusion and desperation.

Iliana's heart raced as she fought against him. "Stop it! You need to control yourself!" she shouted, her voice echoing in the stillness of the dream. The tension between them was palpable, a clash of emotions that neither could fully understand.

Jungkook woke up, his breath coming in quick, heavy gasps. "Astagfirullah, no, never," he exclaimed, confusion washing over him. "What did I just say? How could I even think that?"

He turned to glance at the clock, and his heart dropped when he saw it was 7 PM.

"I'm going to David's. I need to clear some things up," Jungkook said, but in his haste, he accidentally knocked over a glass of water, soaking himself.

"Hey, are you coming to the club tonight? It's only 7 PM! Let's have one more drink. I thought we would go to the club together after you woke up!" David called out, looking surprised.

"Nah, I have work," Jungkook replied quickly, heading towards his car without looking back.

David stood there, puzzled. "He never misses a night at the club... Why is he skipping out today?" he wondered to himself, trying to make sense of his friend's sudden change in plans.

Jungkook rushed into his home, his heart pounding as he hurried past his parents, who exchanged worried glances. Without a moment's pause, he dashed to his room, flinging open his laptop and diving into the files of his workers. For three straight hours, he poured over the details, his mind racing with thoughts of Iliana.

Just as he was lost in his work, his phone buzzed, cutting through the tension. "It's me, Asma," the voice came through, filled with urgency. "Sir, Iliana ma'am is still at the office. I've called her several times, but she's not answering. It's getting really late, I have to talk you about something later"

"Is he my ed?" Asma sighed and called someone right away

"Joshir? You remember eiden? I will give you information about someone just check if details gets matched"

"Obviously, okay no problem" joshir replied energetically

Panic surged through Jungkook. "What? She's still there? I need to find her!" he exclaimed, quickly throwing on a black shirt and jeans. "I hope you're okay, my chameleon," he whispered under his breath, determination setting in as he rushed out the door.

Meanwhile, Iliana sat alone at her desk, glancing at the clock and biting her lip. "I should really head home now," she thought, closing her laptop with a sigh. The office was silent, almost too quiet, and just then, the lights flickered before plunging her into darkness.

"Guards? Where are you? What's going on with the lights?" Iliana called out, her voice echoing in the empty space. Anxiety gripped her as she stood up, her heart racing. Carefully, she stepped into the hallway, the shadows creeping around her. Suddenly, she froze. A figure emerged from the darkness, his face hidden, a knife glinting in his hand
